Shut the front door, Candy Crush Saga has a whole new level thanks to the Creative Director of Marie Claire US, Nina Garcia. The sweetest game, just got even sweeter (sorry).

Right now, smartphone gaming is mega. The Candy Crush franchise has 92 million daily active players and women over 18-years-old of age represent 36 percent of people who regularly play video games (outnumbering boys under the age of 18). As a result, the percentage of female developers has more than doubled in recent years.

For her stint as a mobile game developer Garcia teamed up with Yonna Ingolf, the Stockholm-based lead producer for Candy Crush Saga (one of the most impressive female developers in the industry).

Garcia explained: 'There were a lot of parallels to designing a game and designing a magazine. It’s about symmetry, color and the element of surprise. Both our Marie Claire readers and King mobile game players want to be visually and intellectually stimulated. It really is a meeting of beauty and brains.’

The new Marie Claire level launches as a live in-game event (featuring an animated avatar of Garcia) on December 17th at 11am GMT and runs until December 19th at 11am GMT. It will be available to players worldwide. Plus, following the live in-game event the level will continue to exist permanently.
