This small Italian village will pay you £1700 to move there
See you there?
See you there?
If you've ever wondered what it'd be like to move to Italy, you know, to enjoy that hand-rolled pasta, fresh gelato and everything else about La Dolce Vita, then this might just convince you to pull the trigger.
It's an especially appealing idea when you think that Italy is one of the best countries in Europe to live in in terms of living standards and that some European cities are actually cheaper to commute to London from than London itself. (Doesn't make sense, we know.)
So, when we heard that Daniele Galliano, the Mayor of small Italian village Bormida, in the Liguria region, is actually offering to pay people £1700 to move there, we counted that as pretty good incentive.
Oh, by the way, rent over there is just £40 a month with larger residences going for £100 a month.
But, it is a small village to say the least with a current population of only 394 and the nearest city (Genoa) is 50 miles away so it would be quite a secluded life - but with spaghetti... We're sort of sold.
