Michael Jackson to design fashion collection
In what could be one of the most bizarre collaborations in fashion history, Michael Jackson is set to launch his own fashion line, with some help from Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier.
Although Jackson is known for his more obscure fashion choices- think sequinned gloves and surgical masks- the line has been confirmed by Audiger himself.
‘It’s the merging of the King of Pop with the king of fashion. Something explosive is going to happen,’ the designer told People magazine.
The collection will sell at Hollywood celebrity fashion haunt, Kitson. Owner Fraser Ross explained his decision to stock the range, ‘Michael Jackson is an international pop icon who has had a huge following throughout his career. I think people will think it’s hip to wear his line. Through all his ups and downs people still love him.’
But Michael isn’t the only Jackson to dip a toe in the fashion pool. Sister Janet also confirmed this week that she was designing a lingerie range, telling reporters at the Versace menswear show ‘I’m working on it.’
