The Oscars 2014 was a gloriously star-studded affair, with Hollywood’s biggest names turning out at the Dolby Theatre in droves for the most glamorous night of the year. But the evening didn’t stop when the awards had finished, the stars hit venues across LA for the after-parties.
Elton John held his annual Aids Foundation Academy Awards Party, while the Governors Ball and the Vanity Fair party played host to A-listers, some who had attended the ceremony and some who had just come for the celebrations.
Among the revellers were award-winners Lupita Nyong’o, who stayed in her stunning V-neck Prada gown, while Jared Leto celebrated his Oscar by photo-bombing Anne Hathaway.
See what the other Oscar winners, nominees and stars got up to at the after-parties…
Ellen DeGeneres, who hosted the star-studded bash, looked like she was having a blast at the Vanity Fair party as she posed for pictures with her wife of six years, Portia de Rossi. The stylish duo went for contrasting looks with Ellen in a sparkling Saint Laurent suit, while Portia opted for a Naeem Khan halterneck gown, Brian Atwood shoes and a Fendi clutch.
Adam Levine and his stunning model fiance Behati Prinsloo chose to skip the Oscars awards ceremony and head straight for the Vanity Fair party. The loved-up couple even opted for matching labels, with Adam wearing a Salvatore Ferragamo suit and Behati carrying a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch bag. Sweet.
Sienna Miller hit the Vanity Fair party with fiance Tom Sturridge, in a uncharacteristically bold red Alexander McQueen dress, with stand-out arm cuffs. She wore her recently pink hair, which is now back to a golden blonde, in loose waves.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner looked at home at the Vanity Fair party. Ben, who won the Best Picture Award last year, looked dapper in a suit and bowtie while Jennifer opted for a fringed Oscar De La Renta gown. Jennifer attended the ceremony earlier in the evening to support her Dallas Buyers Club co-stars, and didn’t they do well? Matthew McConoughey scooped Best Actor and Jared Leto got Best Supporting Actor for their roles in the film.
Lupita Nyong’o stayed in her stunning powder blue Prada gown (we don’t blame her), which she’d worn to the awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre earlier in the evening, as she celebrated her Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years A Slave at the Governors Ball.
Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson looking loved-up at the Vanity Fair party bought back memories of last year’s bash where the cute twosome looked as besotted with each other. Glad to see they’re still going strong… Joshua looked handsome in head-to-toe Berluti, while Diane vamped up proceedings in a sheer, lace Valentino dress.
Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto laughed happily after Jared Leto photo-bomber her red carpet moment at the Vanity Fair party. Maybe they were bonding over their supporting role Oscars. Jared scooped the Best Supporting Actor gong for his part in Dallas Buyers Club while Anne won Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables last year. They made quite the monochrome twosome, with Jared in a sharp Saint Laurent suit and Anne in Viktor & Rolf.
Elsa Pataky, who is pregnant with twins seemed to head home (understandably) after the awards ceremony, where she was snapped on the red carpet with husband Chris Hemsworth in a gorgeous embellished Elie Saab gown. Chris attended the Vanity Fair party instead with his two actor brothers Liam and Luke Hemsworth.
Though Jennifer Lawrence was pipped to the Best Supporting Actress post by Lupita Nyong’o and suffered another red-faced red carpet fall in her red Dior gown, in true J Law style she laughed it off and hit the Vanity Fair after party in a slinky metallic Tom Ford mini dress.
Jared Leto was awarded Best Supporting Actor for his role as a transgender Aids patient in Dallas Buyers Club, alongside Best Actor Matthew McConaughey. He celebrated in style, in a dashing Saint Laurent suit, at the Vanity Fair party, where he photo-bombed Anne Hathaway and seemed to be having an all-round fun time. Very well-deserved.
