And we couldn’t have predicted it…

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show has become one of the biggest events in the celebrity calendar, with models across the globe auditioning to be part of the prestigious line-up, walking the runway this year in Shanghai.

Earlier this week, Victoria’s Secret released the list of the models who had made it into their 2017 show – featuring a mix of VS veterans like Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio as well as newcomers like Amilna Estevao, Grace Bol and Vanessa Moody.

‘Forever and ever and ever a dream come true to be asked back to the VS show,’ returning Angel Gigi Hadid posted to her 35.6 million Instagram followers. ‘Every aspect makes me feel like a dreaming kid again.’

Her younger sister Bella will also be returning to the line up, taking to her Instagram to announce the news. ‘@Victoriassecret I am so excited! Thank you!’, she posted. ‘I feel so crazy humbled to be a part of this show again.’

There was one predicted Angel however who remained silent on the subject, with Kendall Jenner’s name missing from the line up – a surprise given that she has walked in the past two shows.

Fans we quick to call it an oversight, assuming that it was down to the backlash from Kendall’s Pepsi advert back in April or the criticism she faced when she and sister Kylie were accused of cultural appropriation in June.

It actually turns out that Kendall wasn’t snubbed at all – in fact according to TMZ, the 21-year-old didn’t even audition.

Jenner is said to have traded in her wings for a more lucrative lingerie deal (we’re talking multi-million dollars), signing up to model for La Perla lingerie.

Pledging her allegiance to La Perla means she is bound by a no-compete cause, stopping her from supporting any major competitors – which of course includes Victoria’s Secret.

Let’s hope she’ll be putting her wings back on next year.
