Why Kate McCann believes she’s being persecuted

Kate McCann: 'If I had a bigger bosom… people would be more sympathetic'

KATE MCCANN BELIEVES she’s being persecuted because she doesn’t have a ‘maternal’ enough image.

The mother of missing Madeleine reportedly told her other mother, Susan Healy: ‘If I weighted another two stone, had a bigger bosom and looked more maternal, people would be more sympathetic.’

The comments were reported in local newspaper the Liverpool Echo, which also quoted Mrs Healy as saying of Kate: ‘She does feel persecuted, not by the general public, who have been extremely supportive, but by some sections of the media and I feel it’s important I let people know she is not this person who is in control all the time.’

Kate and her husband Gerry remain official suspects in the case, although Mrs Healy again argued their innocence and said there was a lot of ‘scurrilous rubbish’ appearing in newspapers about the case.
