The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are two of the most talked-about people in the world - something that has only increased since their step back from royal life and relocation to California.

And from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new Montecito life and career changes, to their relationship with the rest of the firm, they have made non-stop headlines.

It was Prince Harry who got the world talking this week, as he lost an appeal over the Sussex family’s ongoing UK security battle. And following the controversial ruling on Friday, he gave a rare interview with BBC News.

"There have been so many disagreements, differences,” Prince Harry explained to BBC’s Nada Tawfik of his relationship with the Mountbatten-Windsors over the last five years.

"I would love reconciliation with my family," he added. "There's no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has, he won't speak to me because of this security stuff."

The Duke of Sussex also spoke of his sadness at feeling unable to visit the United Kingdom with his family following the security ruling, with the Sussexes receiving numerous threats over the years.

"I can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” he explained.“I miss the UK, of course I do. [And] I think it's really quite sad that I won't be able to show my children my homeland."

Following Prince Harry's candid interview, Meghan Markle appeared to post a poignant tribute to her husband - sharing a black and white photograph of the royal and their two children to Instagram.

And while the Duchess of Sussex opted against penning a caption, she has recently opened up about their marriage on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, where she praised him as "such a great partner".

"I always think about it like the end of 'Super Mario Bros'. When you get to the final, final level and they go, 'Slay the dragon, save the princess.' I'm like, that's my husband," Markle explained.

"There is something that is not something to be taken for granted when you have a partner, a spouse, who is just so behind you," she continued. "H, that man loves me so much. Look what we've built. We have a beautiful life, we have two healthy, beautiful children.

"He's constantly going to do whatever he can to make sure that our family is safe and protected, and we're uplifted, and still make time for date nights."

Netflix’s You has returned for its highly-anticipated fifth and final season, seeing Joe Goldberg “back to his old tricks”. And by “tricks”, I mean stalking and capturing women, and murdering anyone who gets in his way - talk about desensitisation!

At my count, from the show's beginning to the end of season four, Joe has killed a staggering 18 people, and of the six women he has compulsively stalked until now, four are dead.

Yes, reader, this is the gist of You. Joe’s an obsessive stalker and serial killer - I get it. And contrary to how it seems, I actually am a fan of the Netflix show. The problem I have is with Goldberg’s sexualisation - much of which is done by us viewers.

"Joe Goldberg is the sexiest man alive", reads one tweet about the Netflix show. While another states: "I need to date a Joe Goldberg in my life". 

This lust for the show's antagonist is a recurring theme when each season drops. In fact Penn Badgley himself has previously even weighed in, responding to one viewer’s post “Penn Badgley is breaking my heart once again as Joe. What is it about him?” with the statement: “He is a murderer.”

Concerningly, this doesn't seem to be a deterrent, with more posts focusing on Goldberg's "sexy voice" and "clean shave", than the fact that he has killed 18 people, and habitually keeps women captive in a large glass box in his basement.

And of the few posts that do mention his violent behaviour, many are actually sexualising it. "Joe Goldberg is so hot I'd let him kill me", reads one viewer's post. While another declares: "Wish Joe Goldberg would fixate on me and murder me in my sleep".

Of course this isn’t Badgley’s fault or even the show’s creators, when we the public seem to be obsessed with the idea of a 'sexy psychopath'. 

We've seen it time and again. From the thirst for Jamie Dornan as serial killer Paul Spector in The Fall, to Patrick Bateman (AKA Christian Bale) in American Psycho being named one of the sexiest characters in film. 

So where does this sexualisation of fictional killers come from, and why do educated, empowered and feminist women feel compelled to the Joe Goldbergs of the world, even if only in our fantasies? 

One theory is that we've been programmed by society to seek love and protectiveness - two qualities that Goldberg's obsession and control can be mistaken for. This is especially true for "those of us who have been brought up on Disney and rom-coms practically IV-dripped into our consciousness" according to psychologist Perpetua Neo, DClinPsy, via Mind Body Green Relationships. "Joe love bombs his victims, and he makes himself your world."

As a result, viewers “focus on the actions Joe displays that make him seem loving and as if he truly cares about the women he’s dating”, explained Berman Center clinician, Amira Johnson, LMSW, via Indy100. “Actions such as killing his love interest, Beck, his partner in season one in order to eliminate any obstacles that keep him from being able to have her to himself.”

Another theory relates to empathy, with psychologist Perpetua Neo, DClinPsy, via Mind Body Green Relationships, explaining how viewers are compelled to root for the tortured character of Goldberg. 

"When we have empathy for someone, it hooks us in,” Neo explained to Mind Body Green Relationships. “The thing about Joe and the way he narrates it, it's really a story that triggers our love for redemption. He wants to change, he wants to do things better, and we root for a person who wants to change and transform."

According to Dr Melanie Haughton, senior lecturer in psychology at the University of Derby, it could also have something to do with the layers and depth applied when portraying serial killers. 

“By depicting serial killers as complex, intelligent and interesting, and choosing attractive actors to play them, [it] gives them a sense of appeal,” Dr Haughton explained in an interview with Dazed.

This has certainly been true in the past, from the buzz around Zac Efron's portrayal of US serial killer Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, to the sexualisation of Evan Peters as serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer story.

Netflix even had to step in to address the wave of posts lusting after the very real footage of Ted Bundy in its documentary about the serial killer, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.

“[We've] seen a lot of talk about Ted Bundy’s alleged hotness and would like to gently remind everyone that there are literally THOUSANDS of hot men on the service - almost all of whom are not convicted serial murderers", read the statement.

“We’ve been born and raised into societies that desensitise inhumane treatment,” explained Berman Center clinician, Amira Johnson, LMSW, to Indy100. “From the acceptance of war and corporate greed to the illusion that men are superior to women, we’ve all accepted societal norms that subconsciously make us believe that such actions as those Joe Goldberg displays are enticing and derive from a place of power and love.”

This appears to be a theory that even Badgley backs, telling the New York Times: “In a more just society, we would all see Joe as problematic and not be interested in the show, but that’s not the society we live in.”

These theories certainly help to explain our generation's sexualisation of TV psychopaths, but to be honest, it still doesn’t sit right with me. And I can't help but feel that lusting after killers - even fictional ones - must be subliminally harming us on some level. Particularly in the current news cycle of missing women, femicides and systemic sexual misconduct.

I’m not suggesting anyone stop watching You - I for one will definitely be tuning in for season five. But at a time when violence against women is at an epidemic level, I do think we viewers need to separate love and romance from control and abuse. And we definitely need to stop tweeting, "Joe Goldberg could murder me any day".  

The Princess of Wales has been front and centre this weekend, returning to duty with two consecutive days of royal engagements to mark Remembrance Day.

These are Princess Kate's first public engagements since July, with the 42-year-old mother of three said to be taking "baby steps", following her cancer recovery.

"The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family," the Princess of Wales announced in a rare health statement to confirm the completion of her chemotherapy treatment. "Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

"Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus," she continued. "Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes."

Remembrance Day is an important event in the royal calendar, with Princess Kate taking a major step forward in her recovery to attend both the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday afternoon, and the Cenotaph memorial on Sunday.

The royal family honours the day each year by joining political leaders, World War veterans and members of the Armed Forces for a service and a wreath laying at the foot of the Cenotaph memorial.

Selected high ranking royal family members are known to stand on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch proceedings. And with Princess Kate being one of the leaders of the fold, she is a focal point.

It is the Princess of Wales' wardrobe choices that tend to cause a particular buzz, with Kate choosing to wear three poppies instead of the singular flower that is traditionally worn.

She is not alone in this, following in the late Queen Elizabeth II's footsteps, who was known to wear as many as five poppies. And while it has never been confirmed why, there are some theories.

One theory is simply that the poppies are more visible in a multiple cluster, and another is that multiple brooches honour the amount of family members who fought in the war. "There are good days and bad days," she later continued in her honest post. "On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.

"My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.

"I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty," she continued. "Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.

"Thank you so much for your continued understanding," she concluded her statement. "And to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me."

The Princess of Wales' post has been widely praised, raking in over 2 million likes, and thousands of supportive comments from fans and friends.

Among them was her brother James Middleton, who responded to his sister's powerful statement with a love heart emoji.

James Middleton is thought to have played a big role in Princess Kate's support system, posting a heartfelt tribute to his sister after her initial diagnosis.

Affleck is reported to have moved out of their shared family home, with sources alleging that he and Lopez are on “two completely different pages.”

"At this point, they are just doing their own thing. They went into their relationship very optimistic and thought things could change, but they haven't."

The source also commented on Lopez and Affleck's rumoured house sale, with reports last week that the couple had put their $60 million marital home in Beverly Hills on the market. 

"Jen is touring houses and shopping around for her own home," the source continued, via Entertainment Tonight, adding that the singer had been "leaning on her mom, sisters, and kids during this transitional period.

The reports come amid the news that Lopez has cancelled her 'This Is Me... Live' tour, citing the need to spend time with "her children, family and close friends."

The Princess of Wales has taken a temporary step back from royal duties this year following her cancer diagnosis, recovering privately in Windsor with her family.

"I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits," the 42-year-old announced earlier this year in a televised health message, asking for "time, space and privacy" while she completes her treatment.

Princess Kate is said to be surrounded with a solid support network, namely her husband Prince William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. And according to reports, the Wales family is pulling out all the stops to spend quality family time together during her recovery.

This is sure to involve some family time outdoors, with the Princess of Wales one revealing in a podcast appearance that that was her "happy place".

"I'm happy when I'm with my family outside in the countryside and we're all filthy dirty," the mother of three explained during her 2020 appearance on Giovanna Fletcher's 'Happy Mum, Happy Baby' podcast.

"As children, we spent a lot of time outside, and it’s something I’m really passionate about," she later explained. "I think it’s so great for physical and mental wellbeing and laying foundations. It’s such a great environment to spend time in, building those quality relationships without the distractions of 'I've got to cook' and 'I've got to do this.' And actually, it’s so simple.

"That’s what I would want them to remember," she continued. "Those moments with me as a mother, but also the family going to the beach, getting soaking wet, filling our boots full of water, those are what I would want them to remember. Not a stressful household where you’re trying to do everything and not really succeeding at one thing.”

It is not known when the Princess of Wales will return to her role, but it is thought that it could be as late as 2025.

The long-awaited third season follows another generation of eligible young men and women making their grand debuts in society. This week, it was a royal connection that made Bridgerton headlines, as Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York revealed that she wanted to appear on the Netflix show.

"I want to go on Bridgerton," the 64-year-old explained in an interview on Good Morning Britain. "I think Lady Penelope should have a friend who's got red hair like me. Don't you think? I'm putting it out there!"

And on closer inspection, the Duchess of York appears to be a longtime fan of the show, speaking about her love of it in the past.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been separated since 2016, with Jolie filing for divorce after an alleged altercation on an aeroplane in September of that year.

Jolie alleged that Pitt physically assaulted her and two of their children during a flight from France to Los Angeles. Pitt has denied the allegations.

Eight years later, the former couple's divorce is still ongoing, with Pitt and Jolie yet to reach a settlement agreement.

Part of the legal disagreements have centred around the custody of their six children - Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, both 15.

While the legal disputes appear to be ongoing, Pitt's relationship with his children has returned to the headlines this week, as daughter Shiloh filed to legally drop "Pitt" from her surname.

On the date of her 18th birthday, the actress reportedly submitted a petition to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, applying to shorten her surname to just her mother's name "Jolie".

Shiloh is not the first of the Jolie-Pitt children to change her name, with her sisters, Vivienne and Zahara, appearing to go by the surname "Jolie" too. However, Shiloh is reportedly the only one to have taken legal action so far.

"After years of legal battles, Brad still isn’t ready to give up on his children,” a source reportedly told Us Weekly after news broke. “But knowing his children are dropping his last name is upsetting."

“He wishes their relationship was stronger and wants to work on that,” another source previously told the publication, adding that Pitt “doesn’t see the kids” as much as he would like.

"I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits," the mother of three later continued, asking for "time, space and privacy" while she completes her treatment.

It was initially thought that the Princess of Wales would return to public duties after Easter. But two months after her health statement, with the Princess of Wales still not appearing publicly, it is now reported that she may not return until 2025.

According to insiders, the Palace is aware of the implications that a more prolonged absence could cause, and wary of the potential of a second conspiracy theory crisis around her health.

Avoiding this is reportedly the priority, with the Palace likely to be much more open about the Princess' health updates going forward.

"Lessons should have been learned from what happened earlier," royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams explained to Us Weekly. "I mean, if you're not told at all and months pass, clearly there's speculation and that could happen again. So, I'm sure that it will be handled in a different way."

He continued: "I think the palaces recognise that it is essential from time to time to update the press - and through them, the public, of course, on important issues."

Some sources have even speculated that the Palace could release another video health update from the Princess of Wales.

The Traitors is the most talked-about show of 2024, officially reaching cult classic status after the success of season two.

Among the celebrity faces in the show's upcoming third season, hosted by Alan Cummings, is a British royal family member - the first in the show's history.

The royal in question? British aristocrat Lord Ivar Mountbatten, cousin of King Charles, and the great-great-great-grandson of Queen Victoria.

The 61-year-old is not a working member of the royal family, and while he used to play a more public role, that has reportedly changed as the family has grown.

"The family has got very large," the 61-year-old has previously explained to Tatler. "When we were younger, we went to royal events all the time. But now that everyone has had children, quite rightly everything has slimmed down."

Other names set to star in the show's upcoming series are Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause, Zac Efron's brother, Dylan Efron, pro wrestler, Nikki Garcia, and Britney Spears' ex husband, Sam Asghari.

The Traitors' executive producer Stephen Lambert has spoken previously about the potential of a celebrity show earlier this year.

“I think it would be pretty entertaining,” Lambert explained during his appearance on 'The News Agents' podcast. “We talk to the BBC about the future of all our shows and that’s obviously a possibility.”

He continued: “It was really a decision that we made with the BBC to make the first British version without celebrities. In Britain, the decision was, maybe we’ll think about celebrities at some stage, but the best shows, like The Apprentice, don’t have celebrities in them. The interest around the York sisters has got so great, that there have been calls for Beatrice and Eugenie to be promoted to working royal status.

Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 34, are both non-working royal family members within the current "slimmed down" monarchy structure, with Beatrice working as Afiniti's Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, and Princess Eugenie working as a director for art gallery, Hauser & Wirth.

Royal experts have explained however that promotions within the fold are sadly "out of the question", with royal family members unable to work part time.

"The unfortunate truth is that none of them will be asked to support the working royals on a more permanent basis, however badly they are needed," explained royal expert Rebecca English, via the Daily Mail. "It is full time or nothing. The occasional garden party aside, more substantial roles for William's cousins are out of the question - for now, at least."

This week, the couple's divorce returned to headlines, as their daughter Shiloh filed to legally change her name, submitting a petition to the Los Angeles County Superior Court to drop "Pitt" from her surname.

The actress, named "Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt", is reported to have taken the legal action on the date of her eighteenth birthday (27 May 2024), applying to shorten her surname to her mother's maiden name "Jolie".

Shiloh is the first of the Jolie-Pitt children to file to legally change her name, but on closer inspection some of her siblings have dropped the "Pitt" from their surnames in a more informal way.

Just weeks ago, 15-year-old Vivienne chose to drop "Pitt" from her surname when listed in a Playbill programme for the new musical that she helped produce, The Outsiders. And back in 2023, Zahara can be heard in a Spelman College video introducing herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie", omitting her father's surname.

The formal petition by Shiloh to change her name comes after an alleged lack of connection between 60-year-old Pitt and his children, with many of the Jolie-Pitt children reportedly distancing themselves from their father.

"Loyalties are tested and there is no easy answer. This is a time when William needs all the love and support he can get from his family. His brother is not, and will not, be here to help or provide a shoulder to cry on. And so I'm really glad that William has a cousin who is almost like a brother to him in Peter Phillips."

This is not the first time that experts have praised Prince William and Peter Phillips' close bond, with HELLO!'s Royal Editor, Emily Nash calling Phillips a "trusted sounding board for the future King".

"Peter will be a great support to [William] – both as a cousin and as someone who has been there all his life and understands the institution," she previously explained, crediting his "pragmatic, common sense approach to things."

In fact, while it has been widely expected that Princess Kate would skip the annual Trooping the Colour celebration on June 15, it has now been reported via Daily Mail that she is "considering" a surprise appearance "if she is feeling well enough".

If a surprise appearance was to take place, it is thought that the Princess of Wales would not take part in the full carriage procession, and would just join working members of the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the annual flypast.

"The Princess of Wales has not been ruled out of making an appearance," confirmed a report from The Mirror.

The 54-year-old singer made the shock announcement on Friday, with the decision coming amid escalating speculation around Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage. 

The couple, who rekindled their early noughties relationship in 2021 and wed in 2022, found themselves at the centre of divorce speculation this year, with reports that Lopez and Affleck are “having issues in their marriage”. 

According to a report via TMZ, Affleck has moved out of their shared family home, with a source telling Us Weekly that the actor has been “checked out” and that the “honeymoon phase is over”. 

Lopez and Affleck are reported to be taking some time to evaluate their relationship, with sources reporting that the pair is on “two completely different pages”. 

“They are taking some space to work out whether or not the relationship is right for both of them,” the sources continued. 

As Lopez's press tour for her new film Atlas wraps, she has returned to Los Angeles, and was expected to start her 2024 'This Is Me... Live' tour later this month.

The statement - a rare move by Prince Harry, was released by his communications secretary Jason Knauf, back in November 2016, in the early days of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship, following "a wave of harassment" faced by Markle.

"[Prince Harry is] aware that there is significant curiosity about his private life," read part of the 2016 statement. "He has never been comfortable with this, but he has tried to develop a thick skin about the level of media interest that comes with it. He has rarely taken formal action on the very regular publication of fictional stories that are written about him and he has worked hard to develop a professional relationship with the media, focused on his work and the issues he cares about."

The statement then went on to voice Prince Harry's concerns with the treatment of his girlfriend since news of their relationship broke, quoting "the smear on the front page of a national newspaper", "the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments", "the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home", and "the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life."

“Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her," the statement continued.

"He has asked for this statement to be issued in the hopes that those in the press who have been driving this story can pause and reflect before any further damage is done," the now-deleted statement concludes. "He knows that it is unusual to issue a statement like this, but hopes that fair-minded people will understand why he has felt it necessary to speak publicly." 

It is not known why the statement - calling for an end to the "wave of abuse and harassment" against Meghan Markle has been removed from the royal family's website, but it is thought that it was deleted in December 2023.

"I think [Prince William] very wisely decided not to give Charlotte his mother's name as her first name," explained royal expert Richard Kay on Channel 5 documentary, Secrets of the Royal Palaces. "Everything she did and said would have been compared with her".

He continued: "By giving Diana as the middle name, it means Diana is still there."

It is not known when the Princess of Wales, and the entire family by extension, will return to public life, but it is thought that it could be as late as 2025.

"We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment," the Princess of Wales announced in her televised health announcement back in March. "My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery."

According to a report via TMZ, Affleck has moved out of their shared family home, with a source telling Us Weekly that the actor has been “checked out” and that the “honeymoon phase is over”. 

Lopez and Affleck are reported to be taking some time to evaluate their relationship, with sources reporting that the pair is on “two completely different pages”. 

“They are taking some space to work out whether or not the relationship is right for both of them,” the sources continued. 

But while Affleck has been keeping a low profile amid the ongoing speculation, Lopez has been front and centre - first with the release of Atlas, and now with her upcoming tour. 

“She’s back in L.A. for tour rehearsals,” a source told People. “She seems okay. She’s very focused on work.”

Prince William has been stepping up as one of the leaders of the royal family, with senior working royals Princess Anne and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh among others upping their responsibilities. But with a “slimmed down monarchy” in place, the royal family still appears to be stretched. 

And as the Mountbatten-Windsors prepare for a busy summer calendar of official events, the younger generation of non-working royals are expected to be drafted in to lighten the load.

This was the case last week, as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips attended a Buckingham Palace garden party on Tuesday, alongside the Prince of Wales. 

"The presence of the younger royals gave Tuesday's event a unique family vibe," explained royal expert Rebecca English, via the Daily Mail, adding that the party offered "the much-needed vitality that the younger generation brings".

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have emerged as some of the biggest hits, with sources via the Daily Mail reporting that King Charles thinks they "could be a real asset".

“Charles is listening to his public,” the source continued. “They have been crying out for that royal glamour that has been missing during a time when his slimmed-down monarchy is in desperate need of bulking up."

However, following speculation that Beatrice and Eugenie could temporarily step up as working royals, experts have explained that this is sadly "out of the question", with royal family members unable to work part time.

"The unfortunate truth, however, is that none of them will be asked to support the working royals on a more permanent basis, however badly they are needed," explained English. "It is full time or nothing. The occasional garden party aside, more substantial roles for William's cousins are out of the question - for now, at least.

So while Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are expected to be "adding support where they can", particularly over the coming months, they will reportedly be maintaining their non-working royal status - at least for the foreseeable future.

In fact, the four royals showed their support for Prince William in person this past week, attending a Buckingham Palace garden party on Tuesday, that he was hosting on behalf of King Charles.

"So much has been said about family disunity in recent years that it's sometimes easy to forget how well our senior royals get on with each other," explained royal commentator Rebecca English, via the Daily Mail. "They are remarkably close, in fact."

She continued: "The presence of the younger royals gave Tuesday's event a unique family vibe, as well as an insight into the easy relationship that William enjoys with his cousins. It's a warmth that goes all the way back to fun family summers at Balmoral, Christmases at Sandringham - and now finds expression in the very modern medium of shared family WhatsApp groups."

Prince William is reported to share a particularly close bond with his cousin Peter Phillips, who experts explain is a "sounding board" for the heir to the throne.

"Peter will be a great support to [William] – both as a cousin and as someone who has been there all his life and understands the institution," explained HELLO!'s Royal Editor, Emily Nash. "He has a pragmatic, common sense approach to things and can be a trusted sounding board for the future King.

"Like the rest of the family, I'm sure Peter is lending his support to William and Kate as they face her cancer treatment."

The Princess of Wales is taking a temporary step back from public duties as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy, having confirmed the news of her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

The 42-year-old announced the news in a rare public update on her health, telling the world that "it had been an incredibly tough couple of months for [the] entire family", but that she is "getting stronger every day".

As the Princess of Wales recovers privately in her Windsor home, she is reported to be surrounded by a solid support network, who have been helping the Wales family navigate the past few difficult months. 

One person who is said to be playing a major role in the mother of three's recovery is the Wales family's former nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.

Borrallo started working for the family back in 2014, parting ways in 2022 when the Prince and Princess of Wales relocated their family to Windsor. And while Borrallo did not move with them, she is reported to have stayed on the best of terms with the royals. 

It is unsurprising therefore that amid the Princess of Wales' long recovery, the royals asked their trusted and "beloved" nanny to return - something that has reportedly been a huge support behind closed doors.

"Kate must feel Maria is worth her weight in gold and that she can trust her children's welfare to her as she continues her recovery," explained former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond in a recent interview. "Luckily, from what we know about Maria (which is commendably very little because she is so discreet), she is content to spend her life helping others."

The royal expert continued: "She is a religious woman who, people in her hometown suggest, might have been a nun if she hadn't plumped for nannying, so there seems little danger of her moving on for the foreseeable future and that's something for which I imagine Kate will be especially grateful."

It is not known when the Princess of Wales will return to public duties, with Kate asking for "some time, space and privacy" while she completes her treatment.

However, many of these engagements were postponed last week, following the news that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had called a general election for 4th July 2024.

Announcing the change to their schedules in a Buckingham Palace statement, King Charles and Queen Camilla confirmed that they would be postponing their engagements, taking a temporary step back so as not to distract from the election campaign.

“The royal family will - in accordance with normal procedure - postpone engagements that may appear to divert attention or distract from the election campaign," read the statement from Buckingham Palace. "Their Majesties send their sincere apologies to any of those who may be affected as a result." 

King Charles is still expected to travel to Normandy next month to honour the 80th anniversary of the D-day landings, and the royal family is still predicted to be attending Trooping the Colour, Royal Ascot and Garter Day.

Other royal engagements are reportedly being reviewed by the Palace on a case-by-case basis to determine whether they should be postponed.

The 42-year-old confirmed the news in March that she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, asking for "time, space and privacy" while she completes  her treatment. 

It is not known when the Princess of Wales will return to public duties, but it has been reported that she has to wait until she has been given the green light from her doctors.

“The Princess will return to official duties when she is cleared to do so by her medical team", a spokesperson for the Palace explained earlier this year. "She is in good spirits and is focused on making a full recovery.” 

“We have been really clear that she needs the space and the privacy to recover right now,” a royal aide added this week, via MailOnline. “She will return to work when she has had the green light from doctors."

According to sources this week however, there might still be some time to wait, with reports that we might not be seeing the Princess of Wales in public until 2025.

“Lots of people involved in planning need to know what all the principals are doing a long way in advance," a source told the Daily Beast. "I am told that Kate’s diary for this year is empty. There is nothing planned. She may not appear in public for the rest of the year.”

“I would not rule out another video message updating the country on her health," the source added. "That proved to be a very effective way of keeping the conspiracy theorists at bay.

“The key thing for her now is avoiding any kind of stress or anxiety and just getting on with the business of getting better."

"I couldn't flirt, none of it, but it was great," Hudson recalled of her dating ban. "I was at that place where I was like, 'I don't want to keep repeating any patterns anymore."

“It was strangely empowering,” she continued, later adding: "it allowed me to see things much more clearly" and that six months in, "there was no desire for me to do anything that had anything to do with potential flirtation."

This week has seen the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, with the 77th annual cinematic festival celebrating the upcoming year in film. 

From the show-stopping red carpet looks to the multiple standing ovations (from Selena Gomez to Kevin Costner), this year’s film festival has been one for the ages, surrounded with positive press. 

It was a tense incident that made the Cannes Film Festival headlines today however, as footage seemingly showed singer Kelly Rowland involved in a verbal altercation on the red carpet with a member of the Cannes Film Festival security team. 

The incident took place at the premiere of Christophe Honoré’s new film, Marcello Mio, with the former Destiny’s Child singer walking the red carpet ahead of attending the screening.

In the now viral footage, Rowland, 43, can be seen trying to pose for photographs when a female security guard tries to rush her off the red carpet, guiding her away from the cameras with a hand on her back. 

The security guard then appears to accidentally stand on the singer’s dress, before the two have stern words, with other event staff appearing to get involved.

Rowland has since spoken out about the viral confrontation, reporting that she was treated differently from others on the red carpet who didn’t look like her. 

“The woman knows what happened. I know what happened and I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it,” Rowland explained in a statement. “And there were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me, and they didn’t get scolded or pushed off or told to get off.”

She continued: “I stood my ground, and she felt like she had to stand hers, but I stood my ground.”

“Taylor and Travis are doing amazing, and their loved ones see an engagement coming sooner than later,” the source told the publication. “They make a great match, and there’s no question about that.”

Following the online frenzy that ensued, multiple sources have spoken out to shut down the rumours, explaining that Kelce “cares very deeply” about Swift, but that “he’s just not there yet.”

This weekend saw the release of shocking hotel surveillance footage from 2016, appearing to show Sean 'Diddy' Combs physically assault his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The CCTV video footage, released by CNN, shows Ventura trying to leave a hotel before Combs appears to run after her, grab her by the neck and push her to the floor. The video goes on to seemingly show Combs kick Ventura, and briefly drag her back in the direction of his hotel room.

Cassie Ventura has previously made allegations of assault against Combs, filing a now-settled federal lawsuit against him in November 2023. Combs has previously denied the allegations of assault, but made a public apology this weekend following the release of the video footage.

While Cassie Ventura declined to comment on the 2016 footage following its release this weekend, her husband Alex Fine posted a powerful statement to Instagram, calling for an end to violence against women.

"Men who hit women aren't men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren't men," read his social media message that has gone on to amass over 250k likes. "As men violence against women shouldn't be inevitable, check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the utmost regard. Men who hurt women hate women."

His statement continued: "To all the survivors, find the men and women who help and love. To all the survivors, your stories are real, and people believe you. To all the survivors, you're not alone, and there are men and women who care only for your well being and safety. We want you to succeed and flourish. To all the women and children, I'm sorry you live in a world where you're not protected, and you don't feel equal. I want to raise my daughters in a world where they are safe and loved. To the abusers, you're done. You're not safe anymore, you're not protected anymore."

Captioning the statement, Fine posted: "Wrote this a while back but the words ring true not just today but everyday. I want my kids and every kid to live in a world that's safe for women and girls, protects them and treats them as equals. To the women and children, you're not alone, and you are heard."

Combs has also responded to the video footage, posting a video statement to Instagram on Sunday saying: "My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day."

This month, the Prince of Wales made a television cameo, in which he appeared to protect his wife's privacy as she recovers.

The appearance in question took place at the 2024 BAFTA TV Awards, with Prince William (Patron of BAFTA) airing a surprise video message to honour 74-year-old Baroness Floella Benjamin with the BAFTA Fellowship.

But eagle-eyed viewers were quick to notice his filming location, with the Prince of Wales opting to film the message from his father King Charles' home, Windsor Castle, rather than his own home, Adelaide Cottage, where Princess Kate is recovering. 

This, according to sources, appears to be a clear move to protect his wife and ensure her privacy at this difficult time.

It is not known when the Princess of Wales will return to royal duties, with it reported that King Charles is insistent that it be on her own terms, and only when she is ready.

Included in the new track selection was 'So High School', a song rumoured to be about her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce. And in a rare move this weekend, Kelce appeared to confirm the rumours. 

While hosting his Kelce Jam music festival in Kansas City on Saturday, Kelce opened up about his music taste, revealing the track in question to be his favourite from his girlfriend's new album.

"I might be a little biased to 'So High School'", he admitted, seemingly adding weight to the rumours.

Swifties are also convinced that the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end inspired the track 'The Alchemy'.

"Shirts off, and your friends lift you up, over their heads" read the lyrics, thought to be a reference to Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs. "They said there was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league. Where's the trophy? He just comes running over to me."

"So when I touch down, call the amateurs and cut 'em from the team," the chorus continues. "Baby I'm the one to be. 'Cause the sign on your heart said it's still reserved for me. Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?"

Perhaps a second favourite for Kelce?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are two of the most talked-about people in the world - something that was no exception this month as the couple took part in a high profile four-day tour of Nigeria, to mark the 10-year anniversary of the Invictus Games. 

Yes, from Prince Harry's moving words to Meghan Markle's elegant tour wardrobe, the Duke and Duchess have been all anyone can talk about. 

It it their Montecito home life with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet that has been making the most news however, with their eldest celebrating his 5th birthday just last week. 

And while it is not known how the family of four marked the day, it has been reported that Archie's grandfather King Charles was keen to be involved.

According to royal expert Tom Quinn, via The Mirror, Prince Archie is starting to develop an interest in his royal connections - particularly the fact that his grandfather lives in a castle.

"King Charles hasn't seen his grandson Archie since 2022 and Archie really misses him," explained Quinn. "Many of Archie's books are about kings, princesses and castles and he knows enough to know that his grandfather lives in a castle.

"Archie loves the idea that his grandad lives in a castle," the expert went on to report, adding that the 5-year-old is now apparently desperate to visit the UK with Prince Harry.

Quinn went on to allege that this is a source of concern for the Sussexes, with the Duchess not wanting Britain "to become a longed-for fantasy for her son".

King Charles is reportedly "desperate to show he cares and he wants to be an indulgent grandparent," Quinn continued, before adding that "Meghan was worried that a magnificent shepherd's hut or similar extravagant present will only increase Archie's growing interest in his royal connections."

The Sussexes are reported to have asked for Archie to be given a more simple present, but it is not known what the final gift in question was.

2024 has been a difficult year for the royal family, seeing both King Charles and the Princess of Wales diagnosed with undisclosed forms of cancer and forced to take a step back from public duty. 

King Charles has returned to work this month, reassuring the nation of his progress. But with a “slimmed down monarchy” in place, the responsibilities have mainly fallen on Prince William’s shoulders. And even with major steps up from Princess Anne and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, the royal family appears to be stretched. 

As the Mountbatten-Windsors prepare for a busy summer calendar of official events, there will be a need for all hands on deck, and it is thought that King Charles could widen the list of royal family members on duty to lighten the load.

Top of the list is reported to be Princess Beatrice, who sources say the King is considering bringing in for some “glamour”.

"[King Charles] is looking to bring in some fresh blood and he's looking to Beatrice and Eugenie,” a source told the Daily Mail. “He thinks that they've grown into very sensible, lovely women who he thinks could be a real asset. 

“Charles is listening to his public,” the source continued. “They have been crying out for that royal glamour that has been missing during a time when his slimmed-down monarchy is in desperate need of bulking up."

The source went on to explain that Beatrice in particular is ready for her "chance to shine" adding that she would be the perfect fit, being "ambitious, confident and fashionable".

“I think Beatrice and Eugenie are adding support where they can,” the source continued. “They've always been clear they're non-royal, but they're always there to help fulfill any duties required."

It is not known when the Princess of Wales will return to public duties, but it has been reported that King Charles is insistent that she comes back only when she is ready.

Justin and Hailey Bieber are expecting their first baby together, with the couple announcing the exciting news last week. 

The couple broke the news in a social media video of their vow renewal, with Bieber, 27, proudly displaying her baby bump on camera. 

The couple originally tied the knot back in 2018, and while they have both spoken about wanting to start a family in the past, they have been clear about wanting to do so “when the time is right".

"Hailey still has some things she wants to accomplish as a woman," Justin Bieber explained to Ellen DeGeneres back in 2020. "I think she just is not ready yet, and I think that's OK. I'm going to have as many as Hailey is willing to push out. I’d love to have myself a little tribe. It's her body and whatever she wants to do.”

"I want kids so bad, but I get scared,” Hailey Bieber added in a conversation with The Sunday Times last year. “It's enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can't imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.

"We can only do the best we can to raise them," she later continued. "As long as they feel loved and safe."

A source close to the couple opened up about the situation this week, telling Us Weekly that the Rhodes founder in particular “didn’t want to rush” into having a baby. 

“Although she always knew she wanted to have a baby, she didn't want to rush things after getting married,” the source explained. “She wanted to make sure they could enjoy their alone time together as a couple."

“They have wanted this for a long time and can't wait to expand their family and bring a child into the world,” another source added via Entertainment Tonight. 

“Hailey and Justin are united and have been on the same page when it comes to parenthood. They have experienced so much together as a couple and feel ready to take this next step in their lives and relationship.”

Bridgerton season three is officially upon us, with the first instalment of four episodes landing this week - and gentle readers, it certainly does not disappoint. 

The record-breaking Netflix series will centre around one of the show's most popular storylines this season - the love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington (Lady Whistledown herself). 

Much like the last two seasons, the latest Bridgerton release has been dominating the headlines, from the regency core resurgence and surprising recastings (ahem, Francesca Bridgerton), to the real life filming locations, and the reasons behind season three's extended delay. 

It is the show's stars that have been getting the world talking the most, with romantic leads Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington) and Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton) opening up about their season, and speaking candidly about its creation.

This has been particularly true with regards to the subject of nudity, with Coughlan, 37, recently recalling that it was very much her decision to appear naked in certain scenes. 

"Not only did I consent to it, but I drove it," she recalled in a recent interview with Stylist magazine, explaining that the empowered decision was her response to "all the conversation surrounding [her] body".

"I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be included," Coughlan explained in the interview. "There's one scene where I'm very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice.

"It just felt like the biggest 'fuck you' to all the conversation surrounding my body," she went on to explain. "It was amazingly empowering. I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: 'When I'm 80, I want to look back on this and remember how fucking hot I looked!'"

The Princess of Wales is taking a temporary step back from royal duties, as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy, confirming the news that she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year.

And while the 34-year-old has received overwhelming support from those around her, one of her biggest champions has reportedly been her father-in-law, King Charles, who has also been receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

King Charles and the Princess of Wales are thought to have got even closer this year amid their respective recoveries, with a friend of the royal family reporting via Vanity Fair that “Charles adores Kate and has so much respect for her and the courage she has shown in all of this."

According to royal biographer Christopher Andersen, via OK!, King Charles is also making a major effort to protect Princess Kate behind the scenes, with anyone who oversteps the mark or criticises his daughter-in-law risking "being read the Riot Act".

"There are those inside and outside the Palace who have criticised Kate over the years for supposedly not shouldering her share of the royal burden, for not going to as many ribbon cuttings, hospital openings and plaque unveilings as the late Queen Elizabeth II, the King, or Princess Anne, for instance. It has always been Kate's choice to prioritise her children's well-being over royal duties. 

"In the past, Charles has remained silent about this and allowed the sniping from the sidelines to continue. But no more. Now, the King brooks no criticism of Kate, period."

The royal biographer went on to emphasise that this change had been noted within the palace walls.

"Other royal family members and courtiers alike know that they risk being read the Riot Act by the King if they dare utter a negative syllable about Kate," Andersen stated. "Charles has also made it clear that everyone should stand down in terms of when and how she returns to a full public schedule."

It is not known when Kate will return to her royal duties, with the Princess of Wales asking for "time, space and privacy" while she completes her treatment.

NFL player Harrison Butker has sparked major criticism following a commencement speech at Benedictine College, Kansas, last Saturday.

The 28-year-old Kansas City Chiefs kicker gave a 20-minute address to the college's graduating students, with his controversial comments - particularly relating to women and their role as "homemakers", going viral.

"I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you," Butker announced in his formal address, that has since been condemned online. "How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career?"

He continued: "Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.

"I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.

"I'm on the stage today and able to be the man I am because I have a wife who leans into her vocation. I'm beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker."

Butker's speech, that went on to criticise IVF, abortion and "the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion", has prompted worldwide criticism. And since its online release, a petition calling for his firing over the "discriminatory remarks" has already surpassed 170,000 signatures.

The Kansas City Chiefs has not formally responded to the controversy around Butker's comments. Meanwhile, the National Football League has stated that the comments were given "in [Harrison Butker's] personal capacity" and that "his views are not those of the NFL".

The Princess of Wales has taken a temporary step back from royal duties as she undergoes treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, revealing her diagnosis earlier this year. 

Confirming the news in a recorded video message, Kate Middleton confirmed that she needed "some time, space and privacy" while she completes her treatment of preventative chemotherapy, telling those around the world who have been affected by the disease that they are "not alone".

"[The diagnosis] of course came as a huge shock", the Princess of Wales stated in her televised health update, explaining how she and Prince William had been doing everything they can "to process and manage this privately for the sake of [their] young family.

“As I’ve said to [George, Charlotte and Louis], I am well,” she later continued. “I’m getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body, and spirits. Having William by my side has been a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support, and kindness that is being shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.”

Since the Princess of Wales' announcement, she has remained out of the spotlight, recovering privately in her Windsor home, surrounded by her solid support network. But as Prince William has returned to royal duties, he has been asked frequently for updates on his wife's health. 

This was something the Prince of Wales responded to on Friday during a royal visit to the Isles of Scilly, confirming that Princess Kate was "doing well", and so too were his children, adding that George, Charlotte and Louis were "very jealous" of his official visit that day.

It is not known when the Princess of Wales will return to public duty, but she has asked for time and privacy while she recovers.

"My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy," read her statement. "And I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery."
