And it ticks off next season’s top trend too

While we all know Instagram is the place to go for what’s hot right now in the world of fashion (check out the 11 designer accessories every blogger owns), what you might not have noticed is that brands are making easier for you too.

There’s that new trending now section on Zara that made us part with even more cash, and now Topshop is following suit by letting us know which items we need to invest in. Let's all hold hands and pray that we'll find them in the Topshop Black Friday sale.

If you scroll through any section of the site, you’ll see a ‘trending product’ red arrow under the products people are liking and buying the most.

So as I was looking for a bag for the new season (and a little something to cheer me up with the horrible weather if I’m honest), I had a look in the bags & accessories section and this red little beauty caught my eye.

Shop now: REMY TROPHY Cross Body Bag for £25 from TOPSHOP

The REMY TROPHY cross body bag ticks off the autumn/winter red trend, and at just £25 is a cheap way to update any outfit.

I’ll wear it now with a white t-shirt, denim jacket and culottes, and come winter I might glam it up with a red suit and black polo neck.

Shop now: MIA Patent Leather Ring Boots for £82 from Topshop

I also had a look at the top trending boots (when in Rome), and the MIA Patent Leather Ring Boots in red may just be the perfect companion to the aforementioned bag.

Just look at the matching gold rings. It was meant to be.

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
