Royal swearing warning issued, too...

There are a lot of things about the Queen that we really do adore. The fact that she is always carrying her handbag, her love of gin, the fact she is our longest regining monarch and a brilliant woman - to name a few.

However nothing, not anything - not even these 9 stories that will prove she is cool AF - will top the tale that Prince William has regaled the world with this week, recalling when his grandmother gave him ‘the most almighty bollocking.’

Speaking to Sky News, William recalled the time that he and cousin Peter Phillips almost injured a young Zara Phillips.

'We were chasing Zara around who was on a go-cart, and Peter and I managed to herd Zara into a lamppost and the lamppost came down and nearly squashed her,’ says William.

And now for the best bit: ‘I remember my grandmother being the first person out at Balmoral running across the lawn in her kilt. She came charging over and gave us the most almighty bollocking, and that sort of stuck in my mind from that moment on.'

It’ll stick in our minds, too.

Also a few questions: How fast does the Queen run? She’d come from inside – was she wearing her slippers, or had she slipped on some flats or her wellies? Were the corgis chasing after her? What does QEII say when she gives ‘an almighty bollocking’? Did Wills cry?

However, Prince William also spoke more candidly of how his grandmother supported him through the pain of losing his mother, Diana.

'She's been a very strong female influence and having lost my mother at a young age, it's been particularly important to me that I've had somebody like the Queen to look up to.

'[She's someone] who's been there and who has understood some of the more, um, complex issues when you lose a loved one.

He continued: ‘She’s been so incredibly supportive and I really appreciated her guidance.’

What a woman. Happy birthday, HRH.
