Details of Kate Middleton’s first job at Jigsaw have emerged as the company enter into a legal battle

Kate Middleton may have an entire palace worth of staff at her disposal to make her whatever drink she fancies but at the start of her fashion career, she was the one making cups of tea.

In 2006, after graduating from St Andrews University, the Duchess of Cambridge started working as an accessories buyer for Jigsaw – the company owned by her parent’s friends, John and Belle Robinson, who ran Robinson Webster Holdings.

But far from being an example of nepotism, The Sun report the royal put in plenty of hard work first. An insider told the paper that Kate Middleton ‘helped out on a fashion shoot where she ran errands, fetching cups of tea and snacks.’

The revelations come as Kate’s first job is thrust into the spotlight while Robinson Webster Holdings embark on a legal battle with employee, Kate Torpey who is suing the company for sex discrimination, unfair dismissal, and discrimination on the grounds of maternity.
