Beyonce and the Kings of Leon have been announced as the two acts to headline V Festival this summer

Beyonce Knowles has one hell of a busy summer in front of her. Not only is she embarking on a massive world tour, the singer has now been announced as the headline act at this year's V Festival.

Great news for all those fans (us included) who failed to get tickets to her Mrs Carter world tour. Tickets sold out in 10 minutes when they went on general sale over the weekend.

The Virgin Media V Festival takes place at Weston Park, Staffordshire and Hylands Park, Essex on 17 and 18 August, and will be Beyonce's only European festival performance of the summer.

The Kings of Leon will also headline at the two-day festival.

Festival director Simon Moran said: 'With our line-up already boasting acts including Beyonce, Kings Of Leon and Emeli Sande, the 18th annual V Festival is once again set to be an unmissable weekend.

'We have a reputation for bringing fans the best world class acts and breakthrough artists, 2013 is set to be another sensational year.'

Other acts announced to play at V Festival this year include Jessie Ware, Ellie Goulding, Two Door Cinema Club, Beady Eye, The Vaccines, Olly Murs, Plaoma Faith, Rita Ora, Rudimental and Calvin Harris.

Tickets for V Festival go on general sale at 9am on Friday 1 March with more acts to be announced.
