Pregnant Kate Middleton has been tucking into a special snack to cure her morning sickness over Christmas…

Kate Middleton was forced to reveal news of her pregnancy early, after being rushed to hospital with severe morning sickness. But we're glad to hear she's found an unusual cure for the condition.

According to reports, the Duchess of Cambridge has been snacking on lavender biscuits, recommended by the Duchess of Cornwall.

Lavender has long been recommended as an anti-nausea precaution, which hasn't escaped the notice of the royal family, seeking to find a cure for poorly Kate.

And while most pregnant women are advised to administer the lavender with drops of oil in the bath, Kate Middleton has found a different way to enjoy the natural remedy: in lavender-infused shortbread biscuits.

It's thought Kate's cure was recommended to her by her step mother-in-law Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who is also a fan of the sweet snack.

According to the Sun, Charles and Camilla have been sending Kate boxes of the unusual biscuits, sold by swanky London store Fortnum and Mason, as well as Prince Charles' Duchy Original brand.

In a break from tradition, Kate Middleton - who has already said she is feeling 'much better' - and Prince William celebrated Christmas with the Middleton family this year, with Prince William reportedly keen to give the pregnant Duchess a quiet Christmas out of the spotlight.

The couple celebrated a late Christmas with the royal family at the Queen's Sandringham home on Boxing Day, with Scotland Yard protection officers driving them three and a half hours so they could make Prince Phillip's annual pheasant shoot.

While William, 30, was keen to join his grandfather and relatives for the hunt, Kate is believed to have stayed indoors with the Queen, before they all met up again for a hearty lunch at Wood Farm, a small lodge on the 20,000 acre estate.
