Anne Hathaway has revealed she starved herself for two weeks in order to lose dramatic amounts of weight for her latest role as Fantine in Les Miserables.

The actress told The Hollywood Reporter that she lost 10 pounds before the movie started being shot and then, during a two-week break from filming, dropped another 15 pounds to play the dying, TB-afflicted prostitute.

'I just had to stop eating all for a total of 13 days' shooting,' Anne said.

Her co-star, Hugh Jackman, also spoke to the magazine about losing weight for the film, saying that after dropping 15 pounds to play gaunt convict Jean Valjean he then had to pile the weight back on as his character became a wealthy businessman during the course of the movie.

Jackman said he managed to add an extra 30 pounds by stuffing his face in between takes: 'I was eating anything I could. If ever there are any outtakes, there's a lot of me burping.'

Lovely.
