Cheryl Cole has undergone something of a transformation from when we last saw her. Following the hype surrounding the fastest selling single of 2012 - Call My Name - was never going to be easy, but if these pictures are anything to go by, Cheryl may just have done it again.

In the video for her new single Under The Sun,Cheryl, 29, takes things down a notch to play a beehived Sixties siren in suburbia (think Coronation Street circa 1965).

CHERYL COLE'S HAIR HISTORY

The Girls Aloud star can be seen posing on the bonnet of a silver Citroen DS in an orange pencil skirt and a cropped cardigan, showing off an enviably toned tummy and a hint of yellow bra.

Cherylthen takes a stroll around the streets, gets shooed along by housewives doing their cleaning, has another sit down (this time on a green version of the classic car) before dropping into a cafe.

There she encounters some dashing soldier types...and things take a turn for the surreal.

The next shot shows Ms Cheryl Cole being lifted off the ground by two hunky topless dancers (Magic Mike, anyone?). So what happens next?

Sadly, we'll have to wait a week to find out. The new video, directed by Anthony Mandler, premieres on Vevo on 26th July.

Under The Sun is the second single to be released from Cheryl Cole's third album, A Million Lights. Cheryl wrote the new single along with Alex da Kid, Jayson DeZuzio, Mike Del Rio, Steven Battey, Carlos Battey and produced by Alex da Kid in LA earlier this year.

Marie Claire's entertainment writer, Martha Hayes, who had a sneak preview of the new single earlier this week, says: 'Call My Name was never going to be an easy track to follow. One listen and that song just stuck in your head - whether you wanted it in there or not!

'On first listen Under The Sun doesn't have the same get-on-the-dance-floor impact but it has a great intro and a catchy beat and I reckon it's a grower. Sure, it's not as ground-breaking, but I've no doubt it'll match Call My Name's success.'
