Prince Philip in 1957 is the spitting image of Prince Harry

We can't cope with this

We love a good old celebrity lookalike spot here at Marie Claire, in fact, when it comes to doppelgangers, the more niche, the better. And we mean niche. We’ve already uncovered the celebrities with 200 year old doppelgangers, and whilst we didn’t think anything could top a Nicolas Cage lookalike from the Victorian era, it turns out we were very much wrong.

A picture has surfaced on Instagram (where else), which on first glance looks as if it is showing the resplendent Prince Harry in all his (slightly grainy) glory. However, look a bit closer and you will see there are a few things that don’t add up.

Because the man in the picture is actually not Prince Harry, at all. It is a 36-year-old Prince Phillip, looking like THE spitting image of his grandson Prince Harry (or vice versa). Talk about a family resemblance.

The image is actually from the cover of the 1957 issue of Paris Match, and was found by Getty photographer Chris Jackson ( and we are eternally grateful to him for unearthing this complete gem).

Matching blue eyes, matching beards and matching smiles, yes, the royal genes are strong with this family.
