This is the one word Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds refuse to call their children

And we totally get it.

And we totally get it.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have got parenting sussed, with the A-list couple being very open about how they are raising their daughters, two-year-old James and 10-month-old Ines.

Each week expert advice and hilarious family jokes emerge from the A-List couple, with Ryan making a name for himself with his tongue-in-cheek fatherhood tweets and Blake’s tips being quoted over parenting books.

The pearl of wisdom this week came from 29-year-old Blake, who explained how the couple is very careful of what they say around their children, banning one particular word from their family vocabulary – ‘bossy’.

‘My husband said, “I don’t ever want to use that word again. You’ve never heard a man called bossy,”’ she explained to US Glamour. ‘There would never be any negative connotation for a man being a boss, so to add a negative connotation on a woman being bossy? It’s belittling, and it doesn’t encourage them to be a boss.’

The hands-on parents are keen to empower their daughters to be confident and independent, with Blake explaining how she hopes to raise her children.

‘We’re all born feeling perfect until somebody tells us we’re not,’ she explained. ‘So there’s nothing I can teach my daughter. She already has all of it. The only thing I can do is protect what she already feels.’

We love this parenting advice and we can’t wait to see James and Ines become big time women of the future.
