Adele's fifteen month world tour came to a sudden end in July when the singer was forced to cancel her final two shows in London as a result of damaged vocal chords. During her Wembley finale, she appeared on top form and we learned everything about Adele from her secret online pop-pom shop to her love for chicken nuggets. But the 29-year-old was hiding her devastating news and was unable to complete her tour, with her closest aides even fearing that she might never sing again.

While Adele has been incredibly quiet across social media since the revelation, fans fearing the worst for the Hello singer's musical future need not worry. According to reports, Adele is in talks to play the iconic role of Nancy in the Hollywood remake of the 1968 classic, Oliver! - and we couldn't think of anyone better to play the part.

The Sun has revealed that bosses reached out to Adele, and that she's very interested. It would be her first film role, and one that we're a million per cent sure she could take on.

A source told the publication: 'It would be a major part for her and she’s seriously considering it.

'She’s talked about Angelo being her number one priority and she sees this as a role that he could appreciate too. It would be a new challenge for her but one she would definitely be up for.'

Adele wrote the soundtrack for the 2012 James Bond movie, Skyfall, which won an Oscar, but how great would it be to see the charming Londoner on screen crooning out Oom Pah Pah for the chance to win her very own golden statue?

The film will be headed by renowned West End producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Working Title Films, who teamed up for the film adaptation of Les Miserables in 2012.

We have very high hopes for the remake of Oliver! considering what a huge success Les Mis was, and if Adele does take the job then all we ask for is Mackenzie Crook as the updated Fagin.

Can you think of anyone better to play these iconic characters? Us neither.
