Big Little Lies continues to make headlines, with executive producers Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman confirming that the highly-anticipated third season is officially in development.

The HBO drama series is an adaptation of Liane Moriarty's best-selling novel, following five mothers in Monterey, California, whose lives are turned upside down after a school incident involving their children.

The critically acclaimed series stars Reese Witherspoon (Madeline Mackenzie), Nicole Kidman (Celeste Wright), Shailene Woodley (Jane Chapman), Laura Dern (Renata Klein) and Zoë Kravitz (Bonnie Carlson), with the first season adapting Moriarty's source material.

However, without a book sequel to work from, season two of the HBO show expanded on the original. And with the series, airing in 2019, leaving room for a third instalment, there has long been talk about the next season.

Now, show creators have given an update about the Big Little Lies universe, and surprisingly the next instalment is coming in book form, with Moriarty releasing its sequel, Big Little Truths, this August.

The novel, coming over ten years after the original, will see Moriarty revisit BLL's "unforgettable circle of women." And it has been confirmed that her first ever sequel will be adapted for season three, with the full cast reportedly expected to return.

"The last time we saw Madeline, Celeste, Jane, Renata, and Bonnie, their children were just five years old," reads the synopsis of Big Little Truths. "But now the kids are in high school, with all of the drama that accompanies teendom (goodbye playdates, hello drugs, sex, and alcohol).

"When a strange man lurks around the school asking supposedly innocent questions and the principal receives a severed human finger in the mail, the community is in an uproar," it continues. "This tightly connected group will finally have to face the full repercussions of the big little truths they have - and haven’t - shared with their kids, with each other, and with themselves."

"I found it such a joy to return to this beachside town with Celeste, Madeline and Jane," Liane Moriarty announced in a statement, following the news of Big Little Truths. "It felt like I was catching up with old friends.

"I really hope readers experience that same sense of a reunion," she added. "Of course I’ve changed since I wrote Big Little Lies, and the world has changed, so it was fascinating to think about how these characters might have changed too especially as they deal with the challenges of raising teens.”

Big Little Truths is set to be released by Penguin Random House on August 25, 2026, but it is not yet known when season three will air on TV.

Big Little Lies season three is reportedly in the works, with news of the highly-anticipated sequel first coming in 2023. And with executive producers Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman confirming that S3 is now in development, the news has been dominating the headlines.

“We're just sort of in early talks," Reese Witherspoon announced this week, while opening up about the project to USA TODAY.

"[We're] communicating with Liane Moriarty, who has a lot of ideas about where these characters would be now," she continued. "The children have grown up, they're now teenagers, it's been about 10 years… as you can imagine, parenting those age children's got its sets of challenges."

Witherspoon's comments have unsurprisingly gone viral, with fans eager for details about the highly-anticipated next instalment.

Big Little Lies season two saw the ‘Monterey Five’ struggle with the lies and secrecy around Perry Wright's death, pushed down a flight of stairs by Bonnie Carlson during a violent altercation with his wife Celeste in the season one finale.

The season two finale saw the five mothers turn themselves in, led by Carlson, with the final scene seeing them enter the police station together.

Therefore, it would make sense if season three picked up at the end of season two, following the aftermath of their confession. However, given the passing of time, with the child actors now teenagers, it will likely pick up years down the line.

Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, both also executive producers, will be returning for season three, joined almost certainly by fellow leads Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz and Shailene Woodley.

Not to mention, the original wider ensemble, including Adam Scott, Kathryn Newton, Jeffrey Nordling, Sarah Burns, Darby Camp and Iain Armitage.

The first season of Big Little Lies was adapted from Liane Moriarty's eponymous novel, with the episodes staying true to the source material. Season two however, was not based on a novel, with Moriarty not writing a sequel to Big Little Lies, therefore it simply expanded on the original source material.

The same will reportedly be true of season three. And while it will not be adapted from Moriarty's work, it is believed that the author will play a major role in the plot creation and development process.

According to Deadline, Francesca Sloane has been chosen to write the first episode of season three, also coming onboard as an executive producer.

"You want to capture the essence of the book, and some people are very loyal to the manuscript, but I think you have to have room to make things a little more cinematic," Witherspoon has explained of the adaptation process in general at Hello Sunshine. "We're very upfront with them about that we might need to change a few things to fit the format of a movie or television structure. Filmmaking is more of a collaboration as opposed to writing a novel, which is more of a solo effort."

Zoë Kravitz’s sculpted abdominals might have been the headliner at the premiere for Caught Stealing this week, but it was a low-key outfit earlier that same day that you should really be bookmarking ahead of September.

Her promo trail wardrobe has been masterfully executed by Danielle Goldberg, the celebrity stylist whose client list includes Ayo Edebiri, Greta Lee, Jodie Comer and Margaret Qualley, with reveal-and-conceal gowns and lace negligées providing standout moments as the cast travelled through Paris, London and, now, New York City.

The outfit we’re talking about, however, was on the quieter end of the spectrum that immediately would have registered with fans of the actor’s style DNA. For the uninitiated, Kravitz wears The Row (for off-duty), Saint Laurent (for the red carpet) and Jessica McCormack (for diamonds). Goldberg has largely stuck with this rotation, weaving in vintage tees, sourced from NYC’s Procell, and wrap-around shades from Arnette.

For this particular daytime look ahead of last night’s premiere, Kravitz wore a navy blue trouser suit by The Row. This was a tailoring moment, however, that was far greater than the sum of its parts. The shirt had oversized lapels, which stuck out prominently over the single-breasted blazer, while its hemline was left untucked.

This was intentional, of course, following a trend kick-started earlier this summer by Jonathan Anderson, who gave shirts license to be a bit skew-whiff in his first menswear collection as creative director of Dior (their collars were styled with one side up, one side down, as well as loosened ties).

What also stood out was the choice of footwear: not loafers or block-heeled pumps but flip-flops, a shoe that has been caught in the crosshairs of popular opinion over this summer more than most (headlines included “It’s a great time to be a toe”, a statement of fact by The New York Times, and the slightly more on-the-fence, “Is it ever OK to have your feet out on public transport?”, a question posed by GQ).

Kravitz’s answer would presumably be “yes", although she most likely wasn’t getting into a subway car but an SUV. This might not be a styling hack you can necessarily copy-and-paste into your workwear wardrobe past the start of September, but, until the weather holds, you’ll be amazed by how a pair of plastic or leather ‘thongs’ can breathe new life into your old tailoring. Don’t trust me, trust Zoë Kravitz.

Does size matter? When it comes to diamonds at least, it seems the general consensus is that bigger is definitely better. And while for us mere mortals that might only ever mean the difference between a half- and one-carat engagement ring (if that!), this concept reaches a whole new level in the celebrity realm.

By comparison, I almost didn't even notice the 20-carat diamond hanging off Zoe Kravitz's neck for a recent television appearance. Perhaps it's a symptom of diamond blindness—so accustomed are we to having gigantic, incredibly rare stones thrust in our faces on social media that anything more subtle simply no longer registers.

Or, more likely, the subtlety was precisely the point. In her typically irreverent style, Kravitz wore said 20-carat Oval Eclipse diamond—a design by Jessica McCormack—hanging casually on a string, in a (quite literally) brilliant upgrade of the currently trending, Nineties-era rope pendant necklace. It was simply the ultimate, unexpected addition to her casual outfit—made up of a cropped black waistcoat, pinstripe trousers, bandana and sporty silver Nike sunglasses—as opposed to a gaudy display of wealth.

"There’s a definite trend right now for statement-scale jumbo diamonds," explains luxury jeweller Rachel Boston. "They’re a nod to a more maximalist mood in fashion and jewellery after years of minimalism."

It's no surprise that Rodriguez, Sanchez and Kravitz all opted for oval-cut stones, either: "The current favourite cut seems to be the oval, most likely because it’s flattering on the hand and neck, elongates the silhouette, and offers a big face-up spread for its carat weight, so it reads even larger to the eye," says Boston.

Social media and the content-ification of celebrities' lives has certainly contributed to the idea that 'bigger is better', too. "In a social-media-driven age, the sheer scale [of these diamonds] photographs impressively and creates a kind of visual shorthand for the ultra-rare," Boston explains. "And with lab-grown diamonds becoming increasingly accessible to the masses, celebrities may feel an even greater need to differentiate—pushing for stones that are not only natural, but so large and rare they’re beyond the reach of mass production."

That said, if ever you are so fortunate as to find yourself considering adding a jumbo diamond to your collection, take a leaf out of Zoe's book to ensure you style it the chic way.

Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz have reportedly called off their engagement after three years together, according to a new report in People magazine. The publication has claimed that 'multiple sources' confirmed the news, and that the couple has gone their separate ways in recent weeks, ending their relationship exactly one year after getting engaged.

The actors have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye but took to the red carpet together this summer for the release of Blink Twice, Zoë's directorial debut which Channing also stars in. The new report claims that the pair were seen together earlier this month at a play in New York City, where they were supporting their Blink Twice co-star Levon Hawke, but that Zoë was then spotted without her engagement ring in the weeks that followed.

However, Channing's followers noticed that the Magic Mike star had quietly shared a post on social media just before the split rumours began to circulate online. Taking to Instagram hours before the breakup reports started to emerge, Channing shared an article from Deadline revealing that he will be joining the cast of Alpha Gang, a new alien invasion comedy, which will also star Zoë, as well as the likes of Cate Blanchett and Riley Keough. It states that filming will start in Spring 2025, but he did not comment on the speculation about his relationship.

Channing and Zoë confirmed they were dating in October 2021 after months of speculation, and announced their engagement two years later. In September this year, Channing made headlines when was also spotted with a 'tattoo' of Zoë's initials on his hand, and around the same time he shared a sweet photo of her napping on his lap, writing: "This little sweet. She so tired bro. Every time I wondered if she’d break…. She just kept going and going and going. Always on the dig for truth. She pour’d every single ounce of her into this film. I’m so proud to stand ten toes down for her, this film and everyone in it. forever. Knowing what it took to make it. No one will ever know. Thank you for finding me and seeing me. I got you forever. Back in July, Channing also told People that working with Zoë was 'unbelievable', stating: "This is what I'll say about creating with someone that you are with or love: I suggest it. If you are thinking about having a kid or if you're thinking about getting married, go find the hardest possible creative project with your partner. When you can look across the room or the set and know that you have the best person that is next to you trying to solve problems, and you're really looking to them for answers just as equally as trying to solve them yourself, that is unbelievable."

Channing and Zoë's reps have not yet commented on reports that they have separated.

You'll know by now that actors Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum are dating.

They've kept their relationship largely under wraps, but speaking to the Wall Street Journal Magazine in a new promo for her upcoming film, Kravitz got candid about what the one thing she found most attractive about her partner before they started dating.

"I felt, even from afar, before I knew him, that he was a feminist," she explains. "[I felt] that he wasn't afraid of exploring that darkness, because he knows he's not that."

For content, Kravitz has cast Tatum as the lead in her upcoming film, which marks her directorial debut. The movie, Pussy Island, is a psychological thriller which follows the story of a young waitress, played by Kravitz, who "sets her sights" on wealthy tech mogul Slater King, played by Tatum.

It's thought that Kravitz believed Tatum would be the perfect fit for the role, despite never having acted in anything of the sort previously. Why? Well, for exactly that reason.

"I think that's exciting," she explained. "To watch someone who's mostly played boy next door, good guy, love interest, all of that," Kravitz shared. Channing was her first choice - she has been open about being keen to cast "someone who hadn't played a dark character before."

Naturally, they've been working together a lot on set, which she explains has only brought them closer together - as co-workers and as a couple.

"When you make things with people, it's a very sacred space," she explained during her interview. "And when you're compatible with somebody creatively, it often opens up other channels, because you're kind of sharing all of yourself."

"I'm really grateful that this movie has brought him into my life that way," she added.

Kravitz has starred in dramas spanning Batman and Big Little Lies previously so we are very excited to see what's to come from Pussy Island. The movie is set to be released this autumn, but we'll share more as we have it. Watch this space...

The Gossip Girl Actor, Penn Badgeley, has been spotted on a super-secret date with X-Men actress, Zoe Kravitz in New York this week, according to reports.

The pair were spied holding hands and kissing on a date in Manhattan.

Neither of the actors have confirmed the romance rumours, but a source told US Weekly magazine, ‘They’re doing great’.

It’s not the first time Gossip Girl's Penn, 24, and Zoe, the 22-year-old daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz, have been seen together. 

The pair were spotted dining and sharing a cab after the premiere of Friends With Benefits back in July.

Perhaps, that’s all they are at the moment - just friends - after earlier this year Zoe was rumoured to be in a serious relationship with her 'X-Men First Class' co-star Michael Fassbender.

A source said at the time, 'Zoe's really mature for her age in that she has very strong opinions and she is very confident in herself. For how good looking and smart he is, Michael's pretty shy. She is actually the one taking care of him most the time.' After we heard the news that celeb-couple Leonardo Dicaprio and Blake Lively had called things off we thought there was a chance that Gossip Girl co-stars Penn and Blake would get back together.

But perhaps if Penn and Zoe get serious they’ll just have to keep any potential romance to on-screen of series 5.
