For fans of The White Lotus and The Perfect Couple, there's a new holiday drama series on its way, with Two Weeks in August airing this week on BBC One.

The upcoming mini-series follows a group of old university friends whose reunion holiday to a Greek Island quickly turns sinister after an "illicit kiss".

And from the star-studded cast list to the stunning locations, it already looks set to become a cult classic.

Here's what we know so far about the highly-anticipated series...

Two Weeks in August is a dark comedy and psychological drama series, written by Catherine Shepherd.

The eight episode mini-series follows a group of friends from University who reunite years later for a summer holiday in Greece.

However, with a lot changing since their University days, cracks and tensions in relationships and friendships come to the surface, and their paradise quickly becomes a nightmare.

"There's a real hopefulness about booking a nice villa somewhere and thinking everyone's going to have a great time together," explained Antonia Thomas, who plays Jess in the series, via BBC. "But people change. They're not the same people they were 10 years ago.

"It becomes a kind of pressure cooker," she continued. "Everyone falls back into old roles, even if they don't fit anymore."

The 'British' White Lotus

People have already made comparisons between Two Weeks in August and HBO's The White Lotus, with both shows following picture-perfect holidays gone wrong.

However, in a recent interview with the Royal Television Society, Catherine Shepherd explained that there are also many differences between them.

"The White Lotus is about people who are super rich", she stated, explaining that Two Weeks in August instead follows "relatively normal people with normal concerns".

She was actually reportedly inspired by Ruben Östlund’s black comedies Force Majeure and Triangle of Sadness, stating: "I hope – in my dreams – we have made something a bit like that, which has cinematic epicness but is also funny."

This has not been without its challenges, with A-list actress Helena Bonham Carter officially leaving the series last month, just one week into filming.

According to a spokesperson for The White Lotus, the character that "Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align once on set" after filming the first few scenes. And a decision was subsequently made to rewrite and recast the role.

"HBO, the producers and Mike White are saddened that they won’t get to work with her, but remain ardent fans and very much hope to work with the legendary actress on another project soon," the spokesperson continued.

Echoing the statement was also actor and comedian Steve Coogan, who is set to star in The White Lotus season four.

Coogan, 60, was filming alongside Bonham Carter before her exit from the show. And during his recent appearance at the TV BAFTAs, he confirmed that the story went in a "different direction" after finding that it wasn't "working".

"It was like, sometimes you find that something isn't working the way you want it to, in terms of, like, the character and the dynamic of the whole story," Coogan explained to Deadline of the situation. "So that was just a mutual decision. The whole part was rewritten from scratch."

It has since been confirmed that Big Little Lies star Laura Dern will be replacing Bonham Carter on the show.

The 59-year-old actress has already appeared in the show, playing the minor voice role of Abby, the estranged wife of Dominic Di Grasso, played by Michael Imperioli in season two.

There is not yet an official release date for The White Lotus season four.

The rare move to recast during filming has happened once before on The White Lotus, with the season three role of Chloe, Greg Hunt's model girlfriend, originally played by actress Francesca Corney.

However, according to Deadline, producers decided to recast the role mid production, choosing to cast an older actress after making character development choices. And as a result, Corney, 32, was replaced by 38-year-old Charlotte Le Bon.

Following the release of The White Lotus season 3, Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood have been at the centre of feud rumours. Walton played the emotionally-charged Rick in Mike White's dramedy, with Sex Education's Aimee starring as his endlessly optimistic younger girlfriend, Chelsea. But while the actors' on-screen chemistry was palpable, it was their off-screen relationship that has had fans of the series speculating ad infinitum.

Shortly after the finale, internet sleuths noticed that Walton and Aimee were no longer following each other on Instagram despite following other members of the cast. Walton also posted photos with his cast mates without tagging his on-screen love interest, and then their costar Jason Isaacs went viral for his quotes on the cast members' relationships behind the scenes. During an interview, he said: "It wasn’t a holiday. Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost."

He added: "All the things you would imagine with a group of people unanchored from their home lives on the other side of the world, in the intense pressure cooker of the working environment with eye-melting heat and insects and late nights... there’s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama."

Although both parties have remained tight-lipped about the rumoured fallout, Walton's wife, film director Nadia Conners, has just given an interview in which she addressed the rampant rumours head-on in the most cool, calm and collected way. The couple have been married for almost 14 years, and she told Hello!: "It’s odd to see it, but it’s an indication of how much people were invested in the fictional characters. I take it as a sign that he’s become quite popular."

Despite the feud speculation, it seems as though any disagreements between Walton and Aimee have ebbed as the actors have been following each other on social media again in recent weeks. And while on the red carpet at the Met Gala, the Sex Education actress spoke highly of Walton, including telling one outlet: "I loved working with Walton. It was the best thing ever."

If you've been following the noise around The White Lotus in recent weeks, you'll know that there have been ongoing rumours about a feud between Aimee and Walton, who played a tragically destined couple on the show.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the two had stopped following each other on social media, and that Walton didn't tag Aimee in his White Lotus-related Instagram posts.

Also, costar Jason Isaacs stirred the pot when he said in an interview: "They say in the show, 'What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand' but there’s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama." Yikes.

Just days before the Met Gala, Walton added fuel to the rumour mill fire when he stopped a Times interview after being asked about the status of his relationship with Aimee Lou.

However, there have been signs of a possible rapprochement between the two actors. Most notably, Aimee Lou revealed on the Met Gala red carpet that she had seen Walton just two days earlier and said it would be "good" to talk to him again on the night.

AND, while speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she said: "I loved working with Walton. It was the best thing ever." !!!

At time of writing, the two have actually followed each other on Instagram again too!!! It's unclear whether they ended up interacting at fashion's biggest night of the year, but these all seem like good signs anyway...

If The White Lotus season 3 finale is still living in your head rent-free, you're not alone. Whether you absolutely loved the ending or it left you feeling furiously frustrated, the fact remains that Mike White's latest peep into the lives of the vacationing mega-rich has kept us talking yet again. As searches around the poisonous pong pong fruit grow, so does the interest in the cast mates' lives off-screen - and there are two actors who have found their friendship very much in the spotlight this week.

Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins played the cosmically connected - and tragically fated - couple Chelsea and Rick. On screen, they were two of the show's standouts, with their character arcs regrettably entwined and their love story culminating in violent deaths. In interviews, Aimee and Walton have expressed that they became equally bonded in real life, with Walton telling People: "We both became enmeshed in each other, the way that Rick and Chelsea are."

After The White Lotus season 3 finale, he also posted a tribute to his co-star and their characters, writing: "Rick + Chelsea. With the heaviest of hearts… To me, ours was a love story... It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma. We all have them… but can we move past them."

However, fans have taken to social media and Reddit threads to share their theories that Aimee and Walton might not be on the best terms at the moment. As highlighted by sleuthing fans, they no longer follow one another on Instagram (although Aimee still follows his glasses brand, Goggins Goggles) and Walton hasn't tagged Aimee in any of his posts - despite tagging other co-stars. One person claimed on Reddit: "They unfollowed each other on Insta a couple weeks ago, Walton posts White Lotus stuff and tags everyone in the photos except Aimee Lou Wood, posts a whole tribute to White Lotus and still doesn't tag her, posts tons of pictures of her on his story in a commemorative tribute to the show. What happened?"

They also noticed that Aimee's comments no longer appear on any of his Instagram photos, although Walton's comments are still visible on her page. Then, many pointed out that the carousel he did post of himself and Aimee on set was accompanied by Fleetwood Mac's infamous break-up song, Silver Springs.

It doesn't help, either, that Jason Isaacs - who played tortured businessman Tim Ratliff - discussed behind-the-scenes drama during filming. In a recent interview with Vulture, he said: "It was like a cross between summer camp and Lord of the Flies but in a gilded cage. It wasn’t a holiday. Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost."

When pressed for details on what happened, he added: "They say in the show, 'What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand' but there’s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama."

However, he declined to name names, stating: "Absolutely not. I became very close to some people and less close to others, but we still all had that experience together and there’s a certain level of discretion required."

Although Aimee and Walton haven't addressed the feud rumours publicly, Aimee did talk about the filming experience during an interview with Marie Claire UK. Ahead of the show's release, she told us: "We were filming in Thailand for seven months, and it was amazing and hard. There was a lot of homesickness and there was a lot of loss of self because you don’t have your anchor points... we were all staying in the hotels we were filming at so it really was a social experiment. It was like being on The Truman Show or Big Brother - it’s full on and it’s quite claustrophobic.

"There’s no separation between set and home, and you are just walking to your hotel room every night, so we were all a very dysfunctional, lovely family, and we were so close because we had to be - we had to kind of create home within each other."

If, like so many of us, you've watched The White Lotus season 3 finale, you may have a lot of questions about the so-called "suicide tree" that's prominently featured in the episode. (And if you haven't watched the episode yet, we suggest you stop reading right here.)

In the finale, Tim Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) is looking for a way to kill his wife, two of his children, and himself, because he's about to lose everything following a financial crime he was involved in.

That's when he remembers that hotel employee Pam previously mentioned the tree that's in the garden of their luxury family suite, whose fruit can kill you. He asks her about it again, and she tells him it's referred to locally as the "suicide tree," because many people grind up the seeds and ingest them when they want to intentionally kill themselves or others. Tim no longer has a gun at his disposal, so these seeds emerge as a way to accomplish his bloody mission. He doesn't want to kill his youngest son Lochlan, so he asks staff to bring piña colada ingredients to the villa - which he mixes in the blender, along with the seeds. Lochlan, who is underage, makes do with a bottle of soda.

Tim serves the poisoned drink to Victoria, Saxon, Piper and himself and makes a bit of a speech with the family gathered in their suite. But when he sees them all take a sip, he changes his mind and violently knocks the glass out of Saxon's hand, claiming the coconut milk was off.

But Tim doesn't clean out the blender before going to bed, and in the morning, Lochlan makes himself a protein shake without taking out the piña colada and seeds residue. He drinks it, and a bit of time later, he starts vomiting and eventually collapses by the pool, where his dad finds him and thinks he's dead. Lochlan recovers some moments later in his dad's arms.

But what is this poisonous tree, exactly? And how realistic was any of this? Marie Claire UK tapped experts for answers.

What is the "suicide tree" and can eating the fruit's seeds really kill you?

This tree is also known by other names: the pong pong tree, or Cerbera odollam. "Eating the seeds of the pong pong fruit ... can indeed be fatal," says Dr. Suzanne Wylie, a GP and medical adviser for IQdoctor. "It’s native to parts of South and Southeast Asia, and it's earned its grim nickname due to its historical use in suicides and homicides, particularly in countries like India and Sri Lanka."

Dr. Wylie explains: "The seeds are the most toxic part of the plant. They contain cerberin, a potent cardiac glycoside. This substance interferes with the normal electrical activity of the heart, much like digoxin (a drug derived from foxglove, also a cardiac glycoside). Even a single seed can be fatal, depending on the individual’s size and health."

The expert says that other parts of the tree "may also contain cerberin in smaller amounts, but it’s the seeds that pose the greatest risk due to their high concentration of the toxin."

How accurate was Lochlan's collapse and recovery after eating the pong pong fruit seeds?

Professor Alan Boobis, OBE, Emeritus Professor of Toxicology at Imperial College London, says that Lochlan's collapse and recovery could have happened in real life, but certainly not as fast as shown.

"Not enough toxin would have entered the blood stream within a few minutes of ingestion to cause unconsciousness," Boobis says. "This would have taken an hour or more, but the timecourse is not well defined."

Dr. Wylie agrees, telling Marie Claire UK: "Onset of symptoms is more likely to occur within 1 to 3 hours of ingestion, although absorption may vary depending on the individual’s metabolism and whether the seed was chewed (which increases absorption)."

The expert lists nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, slow heart rate, and arrhythmias as potential early symptoms of pong pong fruit seed ingestion.

Meanwhile, Boobis adds: "Complete recovery is realistic but not as quickly as shown, if Lochlan had consumed sufficient to render him unconscious."

Dr. Wylie, as for her, calls Lochlan's rapid recovery "highly unlikely." "If someone collapsed from cardiac glycoside poisoning, they’d require urgent medical intervention," she says. "In reality, Lochlan wouldn’t have simply perked up in his father’s arms without significant medical care."

Would the rest of the family really have been fine after only having a sip of their drinks?

You've heard the adage "the dose makes the poison," and in the case of the pong pong seed, this is correct.

"It is entirely possible that taking just a sip of the smoothie would not have provided sufficient of a dose to cause any effects in other members of the family," says Boobis.

Dr. Wylie takes a slightly more cautious approach: "Cardiac glycoside toxicity is dose-dependent, so a very small amount might only cause mild symptoms or none at all," she says. "However, even small amounts can be dangerous for children, the elderly, or anyone with existing heart issues. At minimum, they’d likely need to be observed in hospital, and certainly not simply dismissed after a sip."

Is there a treatment for pong pong seed poisoning?

There are some potential treatments for pong pong seed poisoning, but they're far from foolproof. "There are supportive measures like activated charcoal, and drugs such as atropine that could be used to help keep [Lochlan's] heart going, but these have not been very successful in serious cases of poisoning," says Boobis.

"In the unlikely event that Lochlan had recovered sufficiently to walk about as portrayed, he should have undergone a medical examination to check his heart (ECG, clinical chemistry, etc). If they were normal, he would be okay to travel home, although most doctors would have wanted to keep him under surveillance for a day or two.

"Bottom line, realistically, Lochlan could only have survived if the dose he ingested was not enough to kill him in the first place, which is certainly possible. It is highly unlikely that medical treatment would have rescued him otherwise."

Dr. Wylie leaves us with the words of caution: "I’d definitely be advising anyone who’s ingested unknown seeds or plants abroad to seek immediate medical attention, even if they feel fine at first."

The White Lotus season 3 is over, and fans are craving more. Thankfully, while the fan favourite TV show is done for now, there's still loads of new information coming out that's almost as mind-blowing as the actual plot.

One new piece of information we're struggling to digest? A revelation from White Lotus creator Mike White about a scene that almost featured in the finale, which involved two very surprising characters having sex.

The revelation was shared on the official HBO White Lotus podcast, hosted by Jia Tolentino and Josh Bearman. Mike was their guest on the latest episode, which dropped on Monday following the finale airing, and he discussed a scene that, though it was never filmed, had been written—and it involved Piper Ratliff, the daughter of the rich North Carolinian family played by Sarah Catherine Hook.

"The part that was cut too, which is very disappointing, is that she decides to lose her virginity in the script in the last episode," Mike said on the podcast, to the hosts' apparent shock, as reported by The Daily Mail. "And she actually has sex with Zion."

The reason this scene might have made sense in the overall plot is that Piper's older brother Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) tells their younger brother Lochlan (Sam Nivola) earlier on in the season that he's pretty sure Piper has never had sex, even though she's "hot." (This is all part of the pretty disturbing sibling relationship they all have with one another throughout.)

But why Zion, Belinda's son whom Piper hasn't even met at all so far in the season?

"There's a whole scene where she's like, 'It's true. Saxon's right about this one thing. I need to get this over with,'" Mike further explained. "And you know, like after she leaves the monastery, she's just like, 'I need to...' You know, 'I need to, like, have sex.'"

To that end, Piper would go to the hotel restaurant and find Zion there. But ultimately, Mike decided to cut the scene because it would have made the episode too long, and would have added yet another narrative element to an already very complex story.

So there you have it: Piper and Zion almost had sex in The White Lotus season 3 finale. Thanks, Mike White!

The fashion in the third season of The White Lotus has, by all accounts, been the most fabulous we've seen to date. So far, the characters have swanned around the five-star Thailand resort in everything from bespoke Jacquemus (Chloe, naturally) and archival Chanel (who else but Jaclyn?), to under-the-radar, insider-favourite resortwear brands—oozing wealth and luxury with their every step.

Which is why we were particularly surprised to discover that some of our favourite White Lotus hotel residents have been supplementing said designer-filled wardrobes with high-street jewellery all along...

Forget De Beers and Tiffany's—it seems that Kate, Chloe and Victoria Ratliff (occasionally) prefer their jewels of the decidedly more affordable kind. And you can still shop most of their pieces, too.

The jewellery brand we've spotted the most in The White Lotus season three is none other than Missoma. Kate first wore a pair of the London-based brand's mini gold hoops all the way back in episode one, and has kept them on practically ever since—alongside her signature gold Cartier Love bangles, of course.

Chloe, meanwhile, wore the brand's Zenyu chandelier hoops in episode seven—the same ones previously seen on the Princess of Wales—as well as Lucy Williams' cult horn-design necklace. Victoria Ratliff was also spotted in Missoma's Wavy Ridge Twisted Chubby Medium Hoop Earrings, that retail for a mere £125. At least one aspect of The White Lotus lifestyle is attainable for us mere mortals...

Completedworks is another affordable, London-based jewellery brand that has featured in the series. In episode six, Kate wore a pair of the jade-resin 'Ruffle' earrings, while in the drama-filled seventh episode, Chloe topped her epic 1993 vintage Versace mini-dress with the brand's 'Crumple II' pearl and gold earrings. Needless to say we've already added both to our never-ending wish-list.

Of all the characters, however, it's Kate who has displayed the biggest penchant for affordable jewellery, surprisingly enough. Beyond her everyday Missoma hoops, Leslie Bibb's character also wore a pair of gold spiral earrings from Parisian brand Polène, and showed off a necklace stack made up of pieces from insider-favourite brand Lil Milan.

Season three of The White Lotus has been quite the rollercoaster thus far, from the unexpected return of Gary-slash-Greg and Timothy Ratliff's epic fall from grace to the increasingly complex friendship dynamics between Laurie, Jaclyn and Kate—not to mention that controversial incest storyline that is still keeping us up at night. With just two episodes of The White Lotus season 3 left, things aren't just heating up in Thailand - they're positively on fire. Bad businessman Tim is on the edge, and seems open to the idea of joining daughter Piper at the monastery, while his sons are grappling with the fact that they became disturbingly well-acquainted at the full moon party. Rick has wormed his way into the home of Khun Jim Hollinger, where he's poised to take down the man who killed his father and ruined his life. And Greg/Gary is determined to keep throwing dinner parties until, probably, someone dies.

As for the three frenemies, Jaclyn, Laurie and Kate, their boozy party with Valentin and his pals turned sour when Michelle Monaghan's character spent the night with the hotel yogi. But what does the actress make of the viral White Lotus fan theories currently circulating online?

During an interview with InStyle, Michelle responded to the bizarre suggestion that the monkeys are actually responsible for the shooting at the start of the season. Their prominence in season 3 can't be ignored; for starters, the number of references to the 'three wise monkeys' maxim is, at this point, practically verging on triple digits. But as for the speculation that the monkeys are holding the guns during the shooting? Michelle has some thoughts.

When asked if it was true, she told the publication: "What?! What? The monkeys do the shooting? Man, y’all have lost it. Spoiler alert, like, sorry, the monkeys don’t do the shooting."

While the actress could potentially be telling a little White Lotus lie to keep the finale under wraps, Michelle did elaborate on the last episode later in the interview. Speaking about what viewers can expect, she said: "[It's] super emotional, unexpected, and rewarding. But not in the way that you think it’s rewarding, but you’ll be satisfied. The audience will be satisfied."

It's not the first time that an insider has used that word either. When asked about the inclusion of Lochlan and Saxon's recent incest scene, producer David Bernad said that the storyline was essential, explaining: "As the season wraps up, you’ll see the purpose of that story turn. The show goes there for a larger thematic idea. I love that family storyline, especially the brother story — and, it culminates in a very satisfying way."

Well, there are only two episodes until we find out.

Sarah Catherine Hook is no stranger to the small screen. The 29 year old actress may have caught your attention as soul-searching Piper Ratliff in the heady third season of The White Lotus, but before jetting off to Thailand for the Emmy Award-winning drama, she starred in Netflix's First Kill as Juliette Fairmont and led the Cruel Intentions reboot as Caroline Merteuil.

Although her star is rising faster than your heart rate during an episode of Mike White's latest fever dream, when I talk to Sarah Catherine it's like having a girly catch-up with one of my friends. Her trajectory is poised towards a flourishing career in Hollywood, but she's disarmingly down-to-earth and fizzing with excitement. And she's not just warm, she's a beaming ray of sunshine; her energy is infectious and palpable, even though the screen of a video call.

We spend thirty minutes nattering about everything from her surreal audition for The White Lotus to her A-list style icons. She tells me about being flown out to New Zealand for her ever first pilot, personal rituals for getting into character, and the paramount importance of her female friendships.

How did it feel when you found out you’d officially been cast in The White Lotus?

Even when I just got the audition, I was like, “Oh my god, this is so cool,” because I had never auditioned for it before. So just getting the audition alone was huge. And then each time I heard good news, good news, good news… it just was the coolest thing ever.

What were you doing when you got the call?

I was with my family, which was great but also a little dangerous because they were like, “You can't tell anyone.” And then, of course, immediately I blurted it out for my whole family. I was like, “But you can’t tell anyone!” Honestly, what a gift. It's so great to be able to celebrate those moments with your family. I know Patrick [Schwarzenegger] has a really cute video of him telling his family, everyone's crying, and it's just so touching.

Are you really close to your family?

I am, yeah. Since I was little they’ve been so supportive of my dreams, and I know a lot of people don't have that luxury so I definitely acknowledge how privileged I am. I’m so thankful, because I don't think I would be here without their support, honestly.

Were they excited when you told them?

Oh, yeah. My mom - like, we were just doing a little dance. That was so cute. It's just so insane. I don't even think there are any words that could match the craziness of it. It was just amazing.

What was the audition process like for The White Lotus?

I did an initial tape for it and the casting director really liked it. She called me, gave me some notes and gave me some more context so I re-taped and sent it off. There was a lot of buzz coming from my reps, then eventually I got the confirmation that I was going to have my final callback with Mike White and the producers.

How was that?!

They gave me a new scene to do, and I went into it thinking, “Oh my God, this is the biggest audition of my life. I'm gonna ask so many questions.” It was great because Mike gets on the call and he's like, “What's up? Who are you? How do I say your name, do you go by Sarah Catherine? Where are you?” And being so casual and cute as if we were out on a lunch date or something. Then he's like, “Okay, well I guess we'll just do the scene and see how it goes. And yeah, we love you.” It was really cute. I did the scene, and he was like, “All right. That was great. Thanks so much for coming.” And I was like, “That's it?!”

I did the scene once. I got off the call like, “What the hell just happened?” I was so tickled to see him. And I was like, “Oh my God, I want to be that guy's best friend.” He was just adorable. And then the next day I got the call.

What was it like to film the show in Thailand?

The heat was pretty gnarly - I don't think any of us had ever experienced heat like that. I fell in love with Asia completely. I was so fortunate I got to do some travelling, too. I think my favourite part about Thailand is the people, to be honest, the community. They're the warmest, most generous, loveliest humans. I never imagined I'd ever go to Thailand and film an incredible TV show there, that was so surreal. I'm truly the luckiest girl in the world.

Tell us your favourite behind-the-scenes story from The White Lotus…

So Patrick [Schwarzenegger] and I became really good friends. He started having this reputation of being the hungriest person ever - he was so hungry all the time, and we always made fun of him for it. When we got to Phuket, the heat was unbelievable. I swear I had heat exhaustion or something - I was unwell! I kept saying, “I just feel so weird. My brain feels like peanut butter.” And Patrick was like, “Yeah? What kind of peanut butter? Crunchy or smooth?” I was like, “Dude, back off of my peanut butter brain! You're not getting a taste of this. I know you want it for your protein smoothies, but get your own peanut butter.” So then we would always reference the peanut butter. He’d be like, “Damn, I really could use some of that peanut butter brain.” He's so goofy and so adorable. I love him to bits.

You also starred in the TV adaptation of Cruel Intentions. How do you tap into the mindset of the person you’re playing?

There was a ritual I would do almost before every take. It kind of naturally happened - I just needed to be centred and as still as possible for Caroline, because I'm a very animated person in real life! In order for me to stop moving so much I had to literally stand still and from the bottom, just zip myself up and zip it back. As if I was zipping on her cloak, or her essence. That was my little ritual. For more emotional stuff, I have a voicemail from my grandmother that I'll listen to beforehand, and that always makes me weepy. That one is always gonna do the job for me, and then I also get to hear her voice, which is sweet.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from being on set?

Being friends with your cast mates. I just did a film, and that was something I learned from one of my co-stars; how part of the job is laughing and having fun, and we need to be able to feel comfortable with our co-stars so on the day we can emote and be as present with them as we are off camera.

What was your first big pinch-me career moment?

Truthfully, I'm gonna take it all the way back to the beginning when I booked my very first pilot. That was so huge for me. You have this dream, and you go out and hustle for it. At that point, I had been living in New York, so broke, going from job to job, trying to make ends meet and going to all these auditions, which was such a thrill. I loved auditioning in New York, I loved having appointments to go to and the idea of seeing agents. I felt like, “Wow, I'm really going for it.” Honestly, every time I book a job it's a pinch-me moment. But there's nothing like your first time.

Can you remember what the pilot was for?

It was called Triangle, and I've never seen it but I filmed it in New Zealand. It was a hard job too - it was tough. It was trying to be like the new Lost. So it was very physically demanding and my character was in life-threatening positions in almost every scene - so it was like actor boot camp! It was a good way to be thrown into it, and I learned so much on that job.

Who inspires your work?

It always varies, I can be inspired by my cast mates, my directors, or the shows or movies I'm watching. Actors that I've loved forever, like Emma Stone. Or Emily Stone, I should say - I’m standing by her decision to go back to Emily! I'm very passionate about names, because people get my name wrong a lot. So Emily Stone, love you.

And who inspires you in your day-to-day life?

I've been really cherishing my girl friend relationships. I've been gone a lot for jobs, and how wonderful is that! But I've been missing my girls, and I realised my most meaningful conversations have been with my close girlfriends. I love them all so much. They definitely influence me and inspire me the most.

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don't worry so much about what other people think! And I would still tell myself that today. That's always an important thing to take note of. I think it used to paralyse me, and it's just not that deep. It's not that serious, honestly. So, yeah, just care less about the little things. I know who I am now!

Who is your biggest style icon right now?

Jennifer Lawrence. She has been looking so stunning. Her hair is like - honey! She's this timeless, beautiful, elegant, sophisticated Queen - I've been so here for her fashion choices. Every time I see her, I'm like, “That is just a sparkling jewel.” She looks incredible, but is also so unapologetically herself. Not that I know her at all! But I love her.

Have you ever met her?

No! Honestly, I'm just happy to see her on my Instagram. I feel like I'd probably be such a babbling - I mean, I'm a babbling fool right now just talking about her, so who knows how I'd be in front of her?! I’ve watched her for years, and I just think she's the real deal.

Has anyone in Hollywood ever left you starstruck?

I'm sure there has been, but I think being an actor now has kind of demystified a lot of things. They're just people. I love all of my favourite actors and actresses, and I have so much respect for all of them. Maybe that's also just a way of me trying to control my little girlish feelings… like, “Oh yeah, you're just a person. Okay, you're just a person! I don't need to freak out.”

With The White Lotus season 3 finale on the horizon, things on Koh Samui are definitely taking some - ahem, interesting turns. In the latest episode, things are getting twisty in the hotel and beyond; Rick is one step closer to meeting the man he deems responsible for ruining his life, Tim is fantasising about what to do with his stolen gun, and Greg/Gary is skulking around recruiting guests for his sure-to-be-deathly dinner party. Belinda and Pornchai's blossoming relationship is the only sprinkling of sweet relief right now.

But one of the biggest talking points from last night's episode of The White Lotus is the full moon party flashbacks. Last week, Lochlan and Saxon joined Chelsea and Chloe for a night of yacht-based debauchery, and things got very weird when the Ratliff brothers, drunk, high and trying to impress the girls, shared a lingering kiss.

And this week, we learn that things didn't end there. When Saxon wakes up with a hangover from hell he has a vague memory of masturbating in the bed next to Chloe and Lochlan while they were having sex. Disturbing enough. However, as the day goes on, it becomes clear that it was actually Lochlan who was touching him - something that the youngest Ratliff brother also suddenly remembers with disgust during a meditation session.

Previously, producer David Bernad explained that the unnerving sexual dynamic between the Ratliff siblings wasn't just there 'for shock', and when pressed about the inclusion of incest in this season, he told The New York Post: "Mike is brilliant, and I think those big story turns are not just for shock... There’s a specific reason in terms of the narrative storytelling, and the larger thematic idea Mike is trying to get across."

Sam Nivola - who plays Lochlan - has explained what was going through his character's mind during the controversial sex scene. During an interview with Variety, he said: "I think it comes from a sense of insecurity. [Lochlan] really looks up to both of his siblings, not from the point of view of a physical attraction. It’s more curiosity, and trying to figure out which kind of person he is going to become. He tries to connect with him in whatever way he can."

He added: "I think Lochlan is a people pleaser, who will try to get people to like him by any means necessary. Looking at Saxon while he’s jerking off is not a sexual thing — it’s more that he’s studying him: "Who is this guy? How can I get him to like me? How can I become more like him?" What he learns over the first few episodes is that Saxon is the sex guy. His primary motive in life is to make money and get laid.

"So, the thing on the boat is Lochlan’s tragically misguided attempt at being like, "So, you’re the sex guy. Let’s do something in that realm and try to connect in some way." It’s obviously a big swing and a miss."

In the interview, Sam also explained that kissing Patrick [Schwarzenegger] was 'very weird' because he was 'already like a brother to me.' He added: "It felt sort of fucked up."

In The White Lotus, Leslie Bibb’s character is a gossipy, glossy, Trump-supporting socialite with a talent for turning every conversation with her supposed two best friends into a bitching session.

Kate (Bibb’s character) and frenemies Jaclyn, played by Michelle Monaghan, and Laurie, portrayed by the superb Carrie Coon, make for delicious watching. The trio is perhaps the best example of fashion providing a portal into a character’s true self. For Kate, this plays out in a medley of hothouse florals, sweeping palazzo pants and, of course, that “c*nty little bob”.

In the most recent episode, when the trio, led by wellness influencer and Queen Bee Jaclyn, ditch their usual itinerary of yoga and detoxing and end up inviting three burly Russian blokes back to their villa for more boozing, Kate’s unease is on full display in the form of a polite pair of printed pyjamas (Desmond & Dempsey, perhaps) which provide a stark visual contrast to her friend’s scant swimwear. As Laurie flings off her bikini top and proceeds to waft her boobs about the camera cuts to a conservative Kate sat upright poolside in a cross-legged position — the armour is up, even if said armour is a pair of silk PJs.

Off-screen, however, there’s not a wafty fabric or tropical print insight and Bibb is being heralded as the new fashion darling as she steps out in powerful Corpcore suits, languid silhouettes, and a particularly notable offbeat three-piece suit by Thom Browne.

The White Lotus has never shied away from portraying some of the more questionable human behaviours, but season 3 takes it, like, 10 steps further.

If you watched this week's episode (if you didn't, may we suggest you stop reading right here), you'll have witnessed the scene everyone's talking about: when brothers Saxon Ratliff and Lochlan Ratliff share a lingering kiss, ostensibly to impress characters Chelsea and Chloe while they're all partying together.

Now, White Lotus producer David Bernad has explained why that scene made sense in the larger context of the season, and why it wasn't just there "for shock."

Asked if anyone behind the scenes of the show thought that including incest on the show was a step too far, David told The New York Post: "No, in terms of that — that’s all [creator Mike White]. Mike is brilliant, and I think those big story turns are not just for shock."

He continued: "There’s a specific reason in terms of the narrative storytelling, and the larger thematic idea Mike is trying to get across."

Apparently, it's all going to make sense by the end. David said: "as the season wraps up, you’ll see the purpose of that story turn. The show goes there for a larger thematic idea. I love that family storyline, especially the brother story — and, it culminates in a very satisfying way."

Satisfying, if deeply disturbing.

Those who have watched the series from the beginning will know the kiss didn't just come out of thin air: there had been hints to a slightly incestuous vibe before, like when older brother Saxon complained about not being able to masturbate on the holiday since he was sharing a room with Lochlan, among other weird hints like Lochlan watching his naked brother go off to the bathroom.

Actor Sam Nivola, who plays Lochlan, has also addressed the brothers kissing scene.

"I think at the end of the day, it was supposed to just be like they're all really f***ed up, and, of course, kissing your brother is incredibly wrong and weird and gross," Sam told GQ.

"But I think as is the case with The White Lotus, it's like these crazy actions and sort of heightened reality coming from really real emotions that are actually really relatable to your everyday guy.

"He just is desperate for his brother's approval and he's out doing this partying drug thing with Saxon, which is a thing that Saxon keeps talking about, and all he talks about is sex. He's like, 'Sex is the main point of life. You need to get laid. That's what you need.'

"I'm like, 'Okay. Well, in this charged sexual environment, what can I do to make you notice me and get you to approve of me?' And then, he does the wrong thing to make that happen."

The White Lotus season 3 is already steaming towards the halfway point, and the tension has been building. In the most recent episode, the grumpy and emotionally-repressed Rick finally cracked a smile, and businessman Timothy Ratliff swapped panicked phone calls for sleeping pills. The monkey motifs are ramping up, too, giving credence to an ever-popular theory that they're the rogue masterminds behind the killing spree. Plus, evil Greg is back with his own Glinda-inspired name tweak: Gary. Subtle! But not quite enough to stop Belinda from recognising his very-much-the-same face.

But there's one character return that The White Lotus fans have been gunning for since the third season kicked off, and that is - of course - Tanya McQuoid. Played by Jennifer Coolidge, Tanya quickly became a fan favourite during seasons one and two, only to be killed off after slipping from a yacht. A tragic and boujie way to go. However, many have been holding onto hope that Jennifer Coolidge will return to the show in some capacity during the latest stint in Thailand.

During an interview with Forbes, the actress finally addressed the ongoing rumours that her character might, somehow, find herself back in the world of The White Lotus. And if you too have had your fingers crossed, brace yourself. She told the publication: "Look, it’s not like I haven’t wished or whatever, but it isn’t happening. It doesn’t matter. They don’t need me. Mike White can tell a story better than anybody."

Jennifer did, however, elaborate that she's predicting 'something's going to go horribly wrong'. Given the outcome of the last two seasons, it's a safe bet to assume that things are going to get a little creaky for the characters - particularly as next week we'll see a lot of the guests on Greg - sorry, Gary's - boat.

The White Lotus returns on Monday with the fourth episode airing on Sky and streaming service NOW.

The White Lotus season 3 has welcomed a fresh new cast of stars, including actress Carrie Coon, who plays Laurie. Carrie recently went viral for some comments she made during a podcast appearance, and she took the fallout on the chin — but made sure to clear things up in the same breath. The star was a guest on the newest episode of WTF With Marc Maron, and spoke about her relationship with her husband, the playwright Tracy Letts, on the show.

"We’re not jealous people. We don’t have any of those hang-ups," she explained. "It’s nice to be in a relationship where we can always talk about, like, 'Well, who are you attracted to on set?'"

She continued: "Tracy’s the kind of person who sees, like, everybody on the street. Every woman. He notices every single woman on the street. And he always tells me who he has a crush on... It’s interesting to know what your partner’s into. It’s titillating."

Marc asked: "Does it ever go over the line?" but Carrie said: "We don't really like lines. Lines are really boring. Look, life is short."

The actress further explained: "Monogamy is something we’ve imposed on ourselves. We were supposed to have babies and die when we were like 30. And that’s not the way life is anymore. You have to kind of be open-minded about ... what engages you in the world, or what sparks your imagination. I don't think either one of us are going to keep the other from living in the fullest way possible."

After Carrie made these comments, fans immediately assumed that she had revealed she and Tracy had an open marriage. "Finding out Carrie Coon and Tracy Letts have an open marriage has been a really great way to start my week," wrote one person on X.

"Why is everyone's surprised that the modern american theater's greatest couple is not practicing monogamy. Man they're so cool. Also carrie coon give me a chance call me," said someone else.

"Finding out Carrie Coon and Tracey Letts have a semi open relationship is something I NEVER saw coming and totally makes sense at the same time," wrote another fan.

But these fans are set to be disappointed, as Carrie clarified on X: "Settle down, internet! I said 'open minded' not 'open.'"

Hilariously, she added the "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" monkey emojis afterwards — in what was perhaps a subtle reference to the mysteries unfolding on this season of The White Lotus.

We're only two episodes into The White Lotus season 3 and already chaos is unfolding at breakneck speed. But while much of the drama is obvious (the frenemy group, that disturbing family dynamic, hints of addiction, legal trouble, a violent robbery), fans have spotted a slightly more subtle thread in the show - though only slightly more subtle, because once you start to see it, you can't unsee it.

You may have guessed it: everyone is talking about all the monkey references that keep happening, and what they could possibly mean. On the most obvious level, monkeys are indigenous to the island in Thailand where the show is filmed, therefore they are bound to be around as the guests go about their holiday. However, there's particular focus on the little animals: they're often shown in between scenes, and often there are ominous-looking monkey statues, etc.

In episode 1, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the three Ratliff siblings were embodying the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" expression, as Saxon was wearing sunglasses, Piper was wearing headphones, and Lochlan was drinking from a bottle. The expression refers to turning a blind eye to wrongdoing, giving the scene an ominous feeling. There were also three monkeys in a tree that one of the three friends spotted.

In episode 2, Kate became terrified when Laurie knocked loudly on the hotel room door, and later said, "I thought it was a monkey." And then there's the strange fact that episode 3 of season 1 was titled, "Mysterious Monkeys." Hmmm...

Fans are assuming that all the monkey references aren't a coincidence, and could turn out to be central to the plot. A dominant fan theory at the moment is that the monkeys are responsible for the shooting that we see at the beginning of episode 1 — though people disagree on whether the 'shooting monkeys' are responsible for the dead body, or whether the two events are unconnected.

Either way, one fan called the monkeys "furry harbingers of doom," which is pretty funny — and pretty accurate, too.

All we know is we can't wait another week for episode 3.

And as per Airbnb data, searches for Koh Samui, Thailand have increased by more than 80% since it was announced as the HBO show's filming location, with travel experts recognising a 'White Lotus Effect'.

In the most exciting news yet, one of the iconic filming locations used in The White Lotus season three is listed on Airbnb, and it's actually available to rent as early as next month.

Samujana Twenty-Seven is a modern hilltop villa in Koh Samui, Thailand, featuring four luxe en-suite bedrooms and a large indoor-outdoor living space - complete with private terraces, an infinity pool and an al fresco dining area.

The luxury pad also has access to private gardens, an all-weather flood-lit tennis court and the bay, located just a short walk from Choeng Mon Beach.

It is not yet known when the Koh Samui villa will feature in the HBO series. However, fans believe that it will be the filming location for 'Gary' [Greg] and Chloe's home, with the former model telling Chelsea in the first episode that they lived in a villa "at the top of the hill".

Yes, really. Back in 2014, when Cyrus was on a break from on-off partner Liam Hemsworth, she and Schwarzenegger briefly dated, with their relationship reportedly getting serious.

The White Lotus season 3 has officially started, and while we only have one episode it hasn't stopped viewers from dissecting every last detail. Mike White's award-winning show is back with a bang, and that one short-and-sweet hour has already spurred a thousand and one questions. Yes, we all want to know who has been taken out in this season, but, importantly - will Chelsea's boyfriend ever crack a smile? Where the hell did Greg come from? And what is up with the strange dynamic between the Ratliff siblings?

An interesting theory has surfaced about Saxon, Piper and Lochlan over the last few days, and it makes a lot of sense. One Redditor, howiemandelrey, has pointed out that an image of the siblings on the boat draws parallels to the 'three wise monkeys', a Japanese maxim symbolising the rejection of negative thoughts, words and deeds in Buddhist tradition. The theory goes: "The still of the three siblings sitting on the boat is see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil (Saxon with sunglasses, Piper with headphones, Lac mouth covered by drink)."

However, in the West, the three wise monkeys has come to take on a different meaning, and is often interpreted as willing ignorance towards bad behaviour. Are they potentially choosing not to see, hear, or speak about a family secret, or evil deeds within their own circle?

Monkeys have already appeared as an ongoing motif in The White Lotus season 3; as well as populating the opening credits, we've seen a number of cinematic shots of them around the Thai hotel in the first episode. The characters have also acknowledged them in various scenes; Belinda is seen darting back to her villa when she believes one is in the tree above her, and when Zion is distracted during his meditation session his wellness facilitator says: "Let us calm our chattering monkey minds." There's also a a moment when Kate, one of the guests on a girls trip with her two friends, states: "Just don’t feed them... Monkeys can be aggressive."

It's undeniable that these The White Lotus monkeys are making their presence known, so the link between the motif and Ratliff siblings feels significant. But there is another way to look at this connection. Could it allude to their own self-destructive behaviours? We can already gauge that Saxon appears not to see things through any lens other than his own, Piper seems to block out the noise of those around her, and Lochlan is evidently struggling to say what he wants, finding himself caught in the middle when it comes to both his siblings and his parents.

If, like me, you’ve been obsessed with The White Lotus since it first came onto our screens in 2021, you’ll know that the sublime costumes are practically characters in their own right. The woman behind Haley Lu Richardson’s algorithm informed wardrobe, Theo James’ loud Casablanca shirts and Jennifer Coolidge’s infamous “Peppa Pig” moment is Alex Bovaird, who has worked with the show’s creator Mike White on all three seasons of the black comedy.

Only the first episode from the new season has aired, but as expected, fan theories are already running on overdrive. Set in Thailand and starring the likes of Aimee Lou Wood, Parker Posey and Jason Isaacs, it’s safe to say the expectations for season three are high — for the plot as well as the outfits.

I spoke to Alex from New Orleans, where she's currently working on a new A24 film, to get the low down on everything viewers can expect, her partnership with H&M which goes on sale today, and what she can reveal about the recently confirmed fourth season.

What outfits or items stand-out to you from the very first episode of season three?

I am a huge fan of Chloe's (Charlotte Le Bon’s) look at the end of the episode. It is a custom look we made for the character with Jacquemus — a polka dot body suit with a sequinned black and white striped skirt. Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) says to her "I love your outfit".

What was it like shooting on location in Thailand, and how does the setting of The White Lotus inform the costumes on the show?

It was so incredibly hot the entire time that we were shooting, so we had to keep that in mind when considering styles and fabrics. We always try to incorporate the colours and the vibe of the location. We do a lot of shopping locally and mix it into what we brought with us from the USA.

I really love the hotel staff’s shirts with the palm tree and monkey embroidery. Did you and your team create these?

Our friends at [New York brand] Tombolo customised them for us. They have amazing Cabana sets and I was inspired by a hotel gift shop collection they have done for a hotel in Portofino, Italy.

I also spotted plenty of JW Anderson and Loewe bags. Do you have go-to designers for the show?

Yes I love JW Anderson and Loewe bags so much! Other favourites are Valentino, Gucci and Jacquemus. We also fell in love with [Belgian accessories brand] Delvaux bags this season, they’re so classic and unique. Laurie (Carrie Coon) also carries a Hermès beach bag — they have spectacular resort wear pieces.

We have been growing season to season. In season one I pleaded for my sister-in-law's Louis Vuitton totes, by season three I was borrowing from the house themselves. We also have items I got at markets in England, charity shops and Bangkok bazaars, so it's not all designer.

This is the first season of the show without Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge). How did it feel without her, and who filled the void?

I missed our dressing room chats and the fun we had on set. But there are so many new guests and characters to put together, I had my hands completely full!

What can you tell us about the upcoming episodes — are there any major fashion moments viewers should be looking out for?

A spectacular entrance from Jacqueline (Michelle Monaghan) in a leopard one piece swim suit and matching robe . A vintage Versace dress on Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) at a party. And some custom made (US artist) Scooter LaForge full moon party T-shirts that were inspired by my own raving days in Thailand in the 90s.

Which was your favourite character’s wardrobe to build this season and why?

I like Aimee Lou Wood's character Chelsea — I felt we had outfits for days and it was hard to pick. She has an eclectic traveller vibe, and Aimee is a dream to work with. I'm also partial to Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Fabian (Christian Friedel)! He won't get a style write up, but his Indo-Western outfits are something special.

You have been the costume designer on the show since the very beginning. How has it been to progress from then until now?

It gets bigger and splashier every season. Mike White is great to work with and I enjoy the job so much, it's a dream come true.

You have collaborated with H&M on a 25-piece collection which is available to shop from today. How did this come about?

I was very lucky that H&M valued the contribution of the costume designer and wanted to collaborate on a capsule collection. We worked on it while I was in Thailand and it is based on the characters and setting of season three. The team was amazing and I can't wait to share it with The White Lotus fashion fans!

What were some of your references or inspirations, and how was the process different from putting together looks for the show?

For the collection, we used the same moodboards, inspirations and themes as the costumes on Season 3. They are sisters! We were also going for romance, daring and versatility. I found the process was a lot more straightforward, building the capsule to capture the essence of the clothes for the consumer.

What are some of your favourite items from the collection?

The oversized shirt and frill trousers, the frill dresses and all the accessories.

Do you believe that costume designers are starting to get more recognition for the very important role they play in TV and cinema?

Yes I think so, we are probably more incognito than a lot of fashion or celebrity stylists. The clothes our characters wear are essential and always on screen. It's a hard job that can go unnoticed, but I am lucky to have such an incredible platform to work on .The clothes only become iconic when the performances and the writing have a special alchemy as well.

Because the show has soared in popularity, do you ever feel external pressure or wonder what fans at home will be saying about your work?

I care just as much as any indie film I have worked on, which is fair to say, is an awful lot! We try to make it right for the character, keep the actors happy, make it colourful and keep the screen full of life..

Finally, can you tell us anything about season four (which has recently been confirmed) and where in the world it will be set?

Your guess is as good as mine…

And as the cast and crew opened up about their 2024 filming experience, they revealed that shooting for so long on location made them form deep and lasting friendships.

"We were filming in Thailand for seven months, and it was amazing and hard," recalled Aimee Lou Wood in an interview with Marie Claire UK. "There was a lot of homesickness and there was a lot of loss of self because you don’t have your anchor points. But the connections I made were so deep and so special.

"I mean, we were all staying in the hotels we were filming at," she continued, adding that there was "no separation between set and home."

"We were all a very dysfunctional, lovely family, and we were so close because we had to be," she added. "We had to kind of create home within each other."

The 30-year-old actress also went on to confirm the rumours about the White Lotus WhatsApp chat, revealing that the cast and crew are still in regular contact.

"There is a White Lotus WhatsApp group, and all of us still chat," she explained. "Leslie [Bibb] and I still speak every day, because it was really hard leaving each other at the end, when we had become so close. But also it was weird for me because I’m so far away. Everyone else went back to LA or New York, so people have hung out since, and I was like ‘bye everyone - I’m going back to England now!’"

This undoubtedly made the White Lotus season three premiere this month all the more special, with the cast and crew reuniting for the evening in Los Angeles.

And while the 30-year-old actress is a self-confessed super-fan of the hit Mike White series, she explains that she never saw herself fitting into the ‘White Lotus world’ until reading for the part of Chelsea - an experience that she describes as “cosmic”.

I catch up with Aimee five months after filming for season three has wrapped. Miles from the tropical paradise of Koh Samui, we meet on a rainy January afternoon at London’s Corinthia Hotel. It also happens to be the very same day that The White Lotus has been picked up for a fourth season, and the excitement around us is electric as we sit down to chat.

As you would expect from her on-screen performances, Aimee is sunshine personified and greets me as though we’re old friends. While I’m desperate to dig for spoilers, at the time of the interview the secret plots of the upcoming season are still under lock and key. Instead, we talk about her White Lotus experience behind the scenes, from the seven month shoot on location in Thailand and her out-of-control coconut addiction, to the cast members who have now become family.

The White Lotus is such a phenomenon - was it something you always wanted to be a part of?

I’m a proper fan of The White Lotus - I loved the first two seasons. And this was the first time I’ve ever been in something that I’ve been a fan of beforehand, so that was a weird feeling. I have always really wanted to be in it, but I just didn’t know where I fit - I just couldn’t see myself in it at all. So when I got the audition for Chelsea, it felt quite cosmic, and that this could actually be it. The first thing I even had to say in the audition, I thought ‘Oh that’s me’ and so it did feel quite special. I really wanted to work with Mike and I wanted to experience that level of writing and how genius it is, but I just couldn’t see myself in it before. So, it’s such a gift that there was someone that I could be in that world.

Talk me through your filming experience…

We were filming in Thailand for seven months, and it was amazing and hard. There was a lot of homesickness and there was a lot of loss of self because you don’t have your anchor points. I was like, who am I again? But the connections I made were so deep and so special. I got to see things that I never ever thought I would see and experience things that I never thought I would experience. I’m only just processing it now - it’s just sinking in. And I’m like, that was incredible, but it did get to a point where I needed to go home.

Did the experience of being on location make you closer as a cast?

I mean, we were all staying in the hotels we were filming at so it really was a social experiment. It was like being on The Truman Show or Big Brother - it’s full on and it’s quite claustrophobic. There’s no separation between set and home, and you are just walking to your hotel room every night, so we were all a very dysfunctional, lovely family, and we were so close because we had to be - we had to kind of create home within each other. But it was a very singular experience, and I’ll never have an experience like that again. Because even if you’re filming away, you always get a car back to your own space, and there was none of that here. It was ‘that’s a wrap’, then walk five steps and I’m back in my hotel room, and can still see the crew outside. It was just like The Truman Show, and all I kept thinking the whole way through was, ‘I am Jim Carrey’.

Are you all still in contact now?

There is a White Lotus WhatsApp group, and all of us still chat. Leslie [Bibb] and I still speak every day, because it was really hard leaving each other at the end, when we had become so close. But also it was weird for me because I’m so far away. Everyone else went back to LA or New York, so people have hung out since, and I was like ‘bye everyone - I’m going back to England now!’ I kind of didn’t think about that when it was happening - that they would all still be able to see each other, but Patrick [Schwarzenegger] has been really good with it. Like, whenever he sees anyone from the cast, he’ll be like ‘hey Aimee, I saw Nick today!’ He tries to keep me in the loop and is like ‘why don’t you come to LA?’, which is really sweet because I think he knows ‘she probably feels left out over there’. So, it will be a big reunion at the premiere.

The White Lotus has a mindful focus this year - how would you fare on a digital detox?

I have just deactivated my Instagram and I feel so smug. I’ve done it for like five days now, and I’m like ‘I feel like a different person’. But I think I would do scarily well on a digital detox - if I could never reply to anything ever again, I would. But that’s risky for me - I have to have some kind of contact and connection to the real world.

Do you have a top mindfulness tip?

I'm terrible at mindfulness, and I need to get better at it. My friend has actually just taught me that thing where you breathe in and block one nostril, and that one helps! She said I should do that for five minutes before I ever make a scary decision because I need to stop making decisions when I’m in fight or flight. I’ll just be like ‘yes’ or I’ll detonate something, and she’s been telling me to pause. I need to ‘pause action until serenity enters’, and do a bit of breathing.

Where is your go-to travel destination?

My go-to travel destination is Cornwall - I just love it so much, Fowey specifically. I know it’s not very adventurous, but I just have a weird pull to Cornwall. It’s so chill, and I just love having crab rolls on the beach. I also went to Lisbon recently and I loved it there. It felt quite like home which is weird, but yeah Cornwall is where I would go.

What was your favourite Thai dish?

I mean just Thai food in general is pretty amazing - it’s so hearty and flavoursome. But my addiction out there was Thai coconuts - they get fresh coconuts out of the trees, cut off the tops and put in a straw, and I couldn’t get enough of them. It was full on, and at one point I was like, am I making myself ill? I don’t think I’m supposed to have this much coconut water! People kept telling me, ‘Aimee Lou, you’re having a lot of coconut!’ as if it was some really risky thing, but it was becoming a problem. I couldn’t go five minutes without a coconut!

Which past White Lotus character would you go on holiday with?

It would have to be Tanya just for the experience, even though it would be hell because she’s so needy. I feel like I could get somewhere with Tanya though. I feel like we could get into some good stuff - get into the weeds, but it wouldn’t be a relaxing holiday. It would be work, and definitely an experience. But also if I wanted a fun holiday, I would go away with Mia and Lucia.

Can you describe this season of The White Lotus in three words?

I would say it’s cosmic, confronting and deep.

"It was so great to have a taste of home because it was 10,000 miles away from home. It was so nice of her to sacrifice that time to come be with me and I’m incredibly grateful to her."

But this time around, Belinda is travelling to the Thai resort where she'll be spending time with her grown-up son. And she might also enjoy a little romance this time around.

She told the site: "Nicholas Duvernay is an amazing actor and I'm so excited for the world to meet him. He's so bright and so talented and so symmetrical and good-looking."

Discussing their on-screen dynamic, Natasha continued: "I think it's really cool to play a mother of a son that is in adulthood. Me, personally, I had to figure out a new relationship with my parents when I was an adult, it's like okay, they're real people and they're human and humans make mistakes.

"I think we see that relationship burgeoning, of them learning each other in a new way, because he's been away at grad school and so to see him as an adult and to give him a little bit of space in this environment is pretty fun."

As for any hints about Belinda's romantic relationships, the actress declined to share too many details - but did say that she 'should hope' her character has fun this season as 'everyone else is getting boned', adding: "I think we get to see Belinda outside of her work uniform and I'll leave it at that."

So when it was announced that Aimee is joining The White Lotus cast for season 3, it was, of course, very exciting. The show has amassed a huge fanbase over the course of just two seasons, with the likes of Sydney Sweeney, Jennifer Coolidge and Theo James gracing the small screen as the luxury hotel chain's wealthy and obnoxious guests.

While details about Aimee's role in The White Lotus have been kept tightly under wraps, we do know one thing - producers were keen for her to abandon the character's planned US accent so that she could retain her Mancunian lilt. In an interview with Radio Times, she said: "My character was meant to be American and then I did a self-tape, one in an American accent and one in my own. They were like, 'Yeah, we want your own voice,' so my character is going to be from Manchester."

Aimee, who was born in Stockport, also shared that despite learning how to emulate the 'standard British' accent at drama school, casting directors and producers have often encouraged her to lean in to her own accent, explaining: "[RADA] said Received Pronunciation was going to be the main accent we needed, so I should know when to dial my accent down, but that’s not been the case at all – if anything, people ask me to amp it up."

And she won't be the only cast member who has brought a distinct British dialect to the show, either. For The White Lotus season 2, Leo Woodall - who was born in West London - said he watched The Only Way Is Essex to nail Jack's cheeky chappy twang, while Tom Hollander's character Quentin had a very posh drawl.

Now that the first teaser trailer for The White Lotus season 3 has officially dropped, we're patiently waiting for its release. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long...

Sydney Sweeney has seen huge Hollywood success since her breakout role on Euphoria. The actor received two Emmy nominations in 2022 - one for her performance as Cassie in the teen drama, and another for her supporting role in The White Lotus - and she has gone on to star in a number of feature films, including Anyone But You and Immaculate.

However, earlier this week she faced some fierce criticism from producer Carol Baum, who discussed the rising star during a film screening in New York. Baum - who has worked on films like Dead Ringers and Father of the Bride, as well as hit 90s TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer - was in conversation with film critic Janet Maslin and spoke about Sydney's talent and appearance in front of a live audience.

As per Variety, Baum reportedly said: "There's an actress who everybody loves now: Sydney Sweeney. I don't get Sydney Sweeney. I was watching on the plane Sydney Sweeney's movie [Anyone But You] because I wanted to watch it. I wanted to know who she is and why everybody's talking about her."

She then added that she had spoken about Sydney during one of her lectures at the University of Southern California, saying: "I said to my class, 'Explain this girl to me. She's not pretty, she can't act. Why is she so hot?' Nobody had an answer. But then the question was asked, 'Well, if you could get your movie made because she was in it, would you do it?'"

Baum's comments quickly made headlines, and now Sydney has responded via one of her representatives. A spokesperson for the Euphoria actor told Sky News: "How sad that a woman in the position to share her expertise and experience chooses instead to attack another woman. If that's what she's learned in her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, that's shameful. To unjustly disparage a fellow female producer speaks volumes about Ms Baum's character."

A number of Sydney's co-stars and colleagues rushed to her defence in the wake of the interview, including Immaculate producer Teddy Schwarzman who called Sydney 'one of the most talented' actors he has worked with.

Since the comments went viral, Baum reportedly told TMZ that she 'regrets' the way she spoke about the star.

Leo Woodall is undoubtedly one of the most talked-about men in the world, and with two major (and critically acclaimed) projects dropping this past year, his star is only rising. 

The 27-year-old actor made waves this month as Dexter Mayhew in One Day, with the Netflix adaptation of David Nicholls' bestselling book already a cult-classic and tipped for major awards. 

It was in HBO's The White Lotus however that Woodall made a name for himself, starring in the second season as Jack, a sinister Essex-born character posing as the nephew of Quentin (Tom Hollander).

And while promoting One Day with his co-star Ambika Mod (Emma Morley), Woodall inevitably shared a few anecdotes about his big break in The white Lotus, with one in particular going viral. 

The anecdote in question involved the HBO show's star Jennifer Coolidge (Tanya McQuoid), with Woodall recalling in an interview with The One Show that he thought she hated him in the early days of filming.

It turns out however that Coolidge was just a "masterful improviser" and there was no bad blood in the slightest.

“[Jennifer Coolidge is] a masterful improviser and it scared the life out of me," Woodall explained The One Show this week. “My first day on set, speaking, was this dinner scene and I think at the top of the scene, someone’s collapsed in the background and we were told to improvise, so I made up a joke at this guy’s expense. And she kind of went, in character, ‘No, you can’t say that. No’."

Woodall continued: “I was like a deer in the headlights. And afterwards I thought, ‘Oh God. Jennifer hates me.’ She’s just so great. A great actor.”

"During Lotus, I knew that whatever I did, it didn’t really matter. The show was going to be amazing and it was going to be a hit," Woodall explained recently in a conversation with Tom Hollander for Interview Magazine. "But with One Day, it was not a new piece of writing, but a new show, and it’s hard to picture what it’s going to look like in the edit. My expectations were high, but it exceeded all of them."

One Day is undoubtedly the film of the moment, with the David Nicholls remake landing on Netflix this week, becoming an instant cult-classic and catapulting its stars Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod to stardom.

On closer inspection however, Woodall has been on our screens before, with the 27-year-old actor starring in the second season of The White Lotus. In fact, it was on the HBO show that Woodall met his girlfriend - fellow actor Meghann Fahy, with the couple confirming the news last year with a public display of affection in New York City.

Meghann Fahy, 33, was one of the stars of The White Lotus season two, playing Daphne Sullivan, who was visiting the White Lotus hotel with her husband Cameron, and 'friends' Ethan and Harper Spiller. And Leo Woodall, 27, appears halfway through season two as Jack, a sinister Essex-born character posing as the nephew of Quentin (Tom Hollander).

While the couple's storylines didn't technically overlap, the actors' did, with the whole cast filming together in Taormina for three months. 

There were rumours of a White Lotus romance, with Meghann Fahy previously asked by Entertainment Tonight if she knew anything about it, to which she replied: “I don’t know anything. Never heard of it. Never seen it. What is that show?”

Fahy has also opened up to Cosmopolitan in the past about her approach to romance, saying that "love is always worth it, no matter what the risk".

“My experience in the world is that you never really know who you’re gonna meet, when you’re gonna meet them, and how they’re gonna make you feel,” Fahy explained to Cosmopolitan in the 2017 interview. "So personally, to put a limit on oneself in that way isn’t something that would work for me. It’s complicated and tricky and in some circumstances can be really risky, but if you find somebody that you think is really special and worth exploring, love is always worth it, no matter what the risk.”

Well this is lovely.

It was clear from the beginning that Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood was always destined to be a household name. Amiee's stint on the four seasons of the Netflix show saw her bring both comic relief and tackle some harrowing storylines, while her other credits include the Oscar-nominated film Living and the West End revival of Cabaret. 

Now, it has been confirmed that Aimee is headed to Thailand to film the third season of Mike White's The White Lotus; one of the most popular TV shows globally in recent years in what will undoubtedly be a career-defining moment for the 29-year-old actor. 

Variety confirmed the news that Aimee would be joining the cast on Tuesday, along with the likes of Gen V star (and Arnie's son) Patrick Schwarzenegger, Fallout's Walton Goggins, American Crime Story's Sarah Catherine Hook and Maestro actor Sam Nivola.

Amiee herself shared the news on Instagram, posting a grab of the announcement alongside the caption: 'GULP' The actor's Sex Education co-stars were quick to congratulate her on the news. 

Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Eric in the Netflix show, wrote: "I CANNOT EVEN FIND THE WORDS FOR HOW PERFECT THIS IS." While on-screen bestie Maeve (played by Emma Mackey) shared a gif of the pair in character, with Maeve looking proudly at Aimee. 

Natasha Rothwell, who previously played spa manager Belinda opposite Jennifer Coolidge in the first season of The White Lotus, is also reprising her role. 

Natasha told Vanity Fair in December 2023 that: "I gasped out loud a minimum of five times and this was just me reading [the scripts]. The scripts are a testament to Mike [White, the show’s creator]’s skill and ability to tell the most smart and entertaining stories. I mean, everything that he does is like a lesson to me as an actor and a performer. Everyone needs to buckle up, because it’s going to get real!"

Awards season is officially upon us, with last night's Emmys following on from the success of the 2024 Golden Globes and the Critics' Choice Awards. And to say the past week of ceremonies has been action-packed would be an understatement. 

Yes, from that Selena Gomez-Taylor Swift conversation and Jo Koy's "sexist" Barbie joke, to an impromptu Suits reunion and Ryan Gosling's words about Eva Mendes, there have been a lot of viral moments to discuss.

The most recent of these was of course Jennifer Coolidge's big win at the delayed 75th annual Emmy Awards last night, with her acceptance speech going viral.

The 62-year-old picked up the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series gong for her role of Tanya McQuoid in The White Lotus season two, beating out co-stars Aubrey Plaza, Meghann Fahy, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Simona Tabasco, who were also nominated in the same category. 

And as Coolidge took to the stage to receive the prestigious award - her second Emmy win for the HBO show, she delivered the most iconic of speeches, from thanking "the evil gays" that were her co-stars and having to put her award on the floor due to "not having the strength", to promising to speed up and joking about getting the hook last year.

"Mike White, thank you for giving me this opportunity to play this incredible character," she said of The White Lotus' creator. "And he says I’m definitely dead, so I’m going along with it."

"One more thing," she concluded as she was running out of time. "I had a little dream in my little town, and everyone said it was impractical, but it happened. So, don't give up on your dream."

This is not Jennifer Coolidge's first viral speech, with the actress making waves at last year's Golden Globes too.

"I just want you all to know that I had such big dreams and expectations as a younger person," she told the audience last year. "But what happens is they get fizzled out by life or whatever, and you know I thought I was going to be Queen of Monaco even though someone else did it. But you know, I had these giant ideas. And then you get older and shit’s going to happen. And I just want to say, Mike White, you have given me hope. You’ve given me a new beginning. Even if this is the end, because you did kill me off, but even if this is the end, you have changed my life in a million different ways. 

"My neighbours are speaking to me and things like that," she continued. "I mean it, I was never invited to one party on my hill, and now everyone’s inviting me!" 

Like we needed a reason to love Jennifer Coolidge more!
