This, Myers alleged, was for a surprising reason, with the royal expert reporting that Princess Kate's involvement in the brother's relationship was actually inspired by her own family.

"Her upbringing in a close-knit, loving family environment, where supporting each other was almost an unofficial family motto, spurred her actions," Myers reported. "We have seen in recent times William openly speaking about change - and 'change for good,'" Myers explained in the recent interview.

"This will involve making the monarchy more accountable, such as William’s ongoing audit with the Duchy of Cornwall, and more relatable, such as William and Catherine centering on public work that has more impact across many years, such as his homelessness project Homewards, the environmental project Earthshot, or Catherine’s early years work."

"Both the Prince and Princess of Wales want to rule, when the time comes, with more empathy and a greater personal relationship with the people," he continued. "And we are seeing that with the way they speak about their own mental health and wellbeing, it’s incredibly forward-looking."

This, according to Myers, also involves ending various outdated traditions behind the scenes, with the royal couple already changing the way they raise Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

"The children are aware of their position in the family and the wider world, but in a way that is very different to William and Harry’s upbringing," Myers reflected. "The concept of 'heir and spare' may be clear in the different roles the children will play in the future, but both William and Catherine view it as damaging and archaic, and it doesn’t feature in their upbringing of the children."

"They may only have a few more years until they are king and queen when their roles will change dramatically," Myers later reflected, noting that Prince William and Princess Kate have found "a great deal of common ground" navigating the situation together.

"Even though they of course hope the King is around for many years to come, they are both ready to step into the roles when required," Myers added. "Which has come from a reliance on each other and an appreciation that they will be leading a much slimmed down monarchy in the future."

They have claimed that, despite King Charles' willingness to build bridges with Harry, the future King is less reluctant to do so.

Although some aides have urged the heir to reconcile with Harry, some insiders have claimed that William would only consider peace talks if the Duke of Sussex came forward with an apology. Now, in a new interview, former royal butler Paul Burrell claimed that, as the future King, William made a strategic decision to cut ties with his younger brother, and has actually distanced himself from Harry 'more than people realise'. Burrell, who famously worked as the late Princess Diana's personal butler, recently released a new memoir, The Royal Insider.

Discussing the estranged royal brothers, Burrell told Fox News Digital: "I think William has distanced himself from Harry a lot more than people realise. Because William’s path is very different from Harry’s. As he gets nearer and nearer to the throne, which will be in a few years, he has to remain isolated. He has to be in a world that is very tight and protected."

He added: "He can’t let things leak out. He doesn’t want to live in a world with a leaky sieve. He doesn’t want to live in a world that can’t be controlled because, to be a monarch, you have to control the environment. You have to look after the crown."

While Harry has returned to the UK a handful of times since his departure, he reportedly has not seen the Prince and Princess of Wales. Their last known public meeting was in August 2024 when they both attended the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, although they were seated separately and were not seen together. Prior to this, their last joint appearance was during a walkabout at Windsor Castle in September 2022, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II's.

The Palace declined to comment on the new royal memoir and its claims.

This week, royal expert Russell Myers appeared to weigh in on the situation, with The Mirror publishing an excerpt of his upcoming book, William and Catherine: The Monarchy's New Era: The Inside Story.

And in a surprise revelation, Myers reported that Prince William and Princess Kate had very different thoughts on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's resignation.

"Catherine had less interest than her husband in trying to persuade Harry to stay in his current role," Myers reported of Princess Kate's reaction to the Duke and Duchess' decision.

"She believed William and Harry’s fundamental differences as the ‘heir and the spare’ had created the inevitability of Harry wanting more from his role than being a bit-part player."

However, Prince William reportedly felt differently, with Myers noting that "William was intensely saddened at his brother’s decision to quit."

"He and Harry had been drifting apart for years, but now he knew deep down that there would be no turning back,” read the excerpt from Myers' new book.

"Fond memories of their childhood, from helping each other through the tragedy of their mother’s death, to growing up in the public eye, were now tarnished by the division at the heart of the family."

Associated Newspapers has 'vigorously' denied the accusations.

Harry returned to London a number of times last year, with many of his trips related to either his legal appeal over UK security or the aforementioned privacy lawsuit. During his time the UK, the Duke finally met with his father, King Charles, after sharing in a BBC interview that he was hoping for 'reconciliation' with his family. Though Harry and Charles are believed to be building bridges, the future of William's relationship with his estranged brother is less clear. According to various insiders, the Prince of Wales is less interested in mending the rift and has already determined Harry's role in his coronation.

With Harry's return to the UK comes growing speculation that the brothers may plan to meet. However, it has been confirmed that Prince William and Princess Kate won't meet Harry during his trip. Instead, the couple will be in Scotland as they head to Stirling for an official royal engagement. They're scheduled to meet Team GB's Olympic and Paralympic curling teams at the National Curling Academy, ahead of the Winter Olympics and Paralympic games in Italy next month.

The royal family has a number of interesting Christmas traditions, from opening their gifts early to a strict ban on this divisive board game. But there's one brilliant festive hack that Princess Kate shared several years ago, and it's going viral once again.

Back in 2019, during a festive trip to Peterley Manor Farm in the Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire, the Princess of Wales helped children to make reindeer food, craft festive decorations and pick out Christmas trees. At the time, Kate was marking her newly appointed patronage for the charity Family Action - but it was her very specific Christmas tree rule that piqued the interest of royal fans. Following the royal engagement, the owner of the farm, Roger Brill, told press that the Princess had shared her secret to picking the perfect tree. He told reporters: "She said they now have a Nordmann Fir which doesn’t drop needles."

He also added that Princess Kate "was asking about different types of Christmas trees". In an article for woman&home, Amy Stubbs - the project and development manager at British Garden Centres - confirmed that the Princess had made an excellent choice with her preferred tree as it's great for those with young children or pets. This year, the Princess of Wales hosted her fifth Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey. The event was attended by royals and celebrities alike, with actors Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor joining the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, as well as Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and Zara and Mike Tindall.

As King Charles continues to focus on his health after a cancer diagnosis in 2024, William is subtly 'moulding' the monarchy in preparation for his future. In an interview for Fox News Digital, royal commentator Hilary Fordwich claimed that William is 'determined to modernise' the institution, stating: "Much of what we don’t see front and centre is actually rather critical in this moulding of the monarchy’s future image to ensure it remains relevant. Princess Kate's own cancer diagnosis reportedly forced the couple to reevaluate their work life balance, and the couple are 'setting boundaries' when it comes to both royal commitments and family time.

During the segment with Eugene Levy, William said: "I think it’s really important that that atmosphere is created at home. You have to have that warmth, that feeling of safety, security, love. That all has to be there, and that was certainly part of my childhood."

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the publication: "William early on laid down the markers for his apprenticeship before becoming king, priority and privacy for his family."

The Prince and Princess of Wales are set to make an historic trip overseas next summer. The royals are said to be considering travel plans to the US to celebrate the 4th July, with 2026 marking the 250th anniversary of US independence. Although King Charles is still undergoing regular treatment for cancer, he is believed to be making the trip across the Atlantic to mark the occasion with Queen Camilla.

Prince William and Princess Kate are also in line to visit, according to several media outlets, with claims that the family will attend as a unit to represent the crown. A source told Page Six that the King has been invited to Washington in April 2026 for a state visit, and there are hopes that the royals will make several trips to the states next year, with the insider telling the publication: "We're hoping all the senior royals will come over. This is going to be a huge year for both the US and the UK."

However, the insider claimed that invitations for the royal family won't extend to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who currently live in the US. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relocated to Montecito, California in 2020 shortly after stepping down as senior royals. The source alleges that the Sussexes will likely be 'iced out' of the Wales' plans, with their attendance hinging on the royals themselves. They told the outlet: "Obviously the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren’t working royals, so they will not be invited to any celebrations. Any invitation would have to come at the behest of the royal family themselves."

Although Prince Harry and King Charles are said to be rebuilding their fractured relationship, royal insiders previously claimed that there's 'no turning back' for Prince William.

During a recent interview, Prince William expertly avoided discussing the matter and pivoted a probing question back towards his work for the Earthshot prize. Additionally, royal experts have claimed that Princess Kate is hoping to avoid personal distractions when she hosts her annual carol concert next month. Every year, Kate leads the Together at Christmas service at Westminster Abbey, and she is often joined by royals and celebrities to mark the festive season. This year, the Princess of Wales has reportedly offered 'personal invitations' to Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie as an olive branch. While the sisters will retain their titles amid the scandals surrounding their father, the offer to join the royal family at the highly publicised event poses a 'difficult dilemma' for Beatrice and Eugenie, according to one royal expert.

Royal commentator Neil Sean claimed in an interview with Fox News: "Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie received personal invitations for this year’s Together at Christmas from Princess Catherine’s office. This is Catherine’s project, and she has the final say - very similar to the way Prince William operates Earthshot. Above all, yes, the Royal Family wants to be seen as united amid what has been a very difficult year."

However, he added: "This puts the sisters in a very difficult dilemma. If they don’t attend, it looks like they’re snubbing a prestigious invite. If they do attend, they know there could be a media circus with them at the centre of attention."

It's unclear whether or not the Princesses will attend this year, but the event - which is due to be held on Friday 5th December 2025 - will see the likes of Hannah Waddingham, Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor giving readings. The service will then air on Christmas Eve, on ITV and ITVX .

The Prince and Princess of Wales are often praised for their efforts to protect their three young children from the weight of their futures. However, in light of the fact that Andrew was recently stripped of his titles, royal expert Hilary Fordwich claims that the Duke of York title may not be handed to Louis at all given it's association with his great-uncle.

Theorising that it could remain unused for many years, she told Fox News Digital: "The terribly tarnished title of Duke of York will not be offered to Prince Louis or, for that matter, any other royal, probably in our lifetimes, nor in the foreseeable future. It will most likely be put in abeyance to die with Prince Andrew. Tradition should be abandoned to restore public trust and to demonstrate moral clarity."

Fordwich adds: "The break with centuries-old tradition is a result of the severity of Andrew’s scandal. William won’t wish his son to be tarnished by any memories of his disgraced great-uncle."

The Prince of Wales has been vocal about his desire to make impactful changes within the monarchy when he becomes King, and recent reports suggest that Princess Kate was 'instrumental' in the decision to remove Andrew's titles.

Princess Charlotte is set to break a centuries-old royal dilemma, according to experts. The young royal is often praised for her poise in public, and she regularly reminds her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis, of royal etiquette; at the late Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022, Charlotte was spotted telling George when to bow, and she was also seen telling Louis off for dancing on the Buckingham Palace balcony last year.

However, she is also reported to be a strong and fearless member of the Wales family. During a public engagement in 2017 - when Charlotte was just 2 years old - Princess Catherine told those in attendance that she was already 'the one in charge' at home, and at school, her nickname was 'Warrior Princess'.

Although she's just 10 years old, Charlotte's royal future is already being assembled behind the scenes, according to insiders. Shortly before she was born, Queen Elizabeth II officially changed the rules around the order of succession and according to political and contemporary historian Dr Nige Fletcher, this has completely changed the historical 'heir and spare' narrative. In a Channel 5 documentary released last year, titled Royal Heirs and Spares: Rivalry and Resentment, he explained: "For the first time in British history, the spare is a princess, even though she has a younger brother. Princess Charlotte is in line after George, after a change in the law, and she now outranks her brother, Louis."

In his memoir, Prince Harry discussed how he felt impacted by the 'heir and the spare' attitude, and he also said he 'worries' about Charlotte and Louis facing a similar fate. At the time of the book release, he told The Telegraph: "Though William and I have talked about it once or twice, and he has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility, I still feel a responsibility knowing that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare. And that hurts, that worries me."

According to insiders, William and Kate are working hard to ensure that their three children remain close despite the fact that George will have to follow a different path. A source told New Idea that George and Charlotte are already veering away from the 'fraternal curse', claiming: "William’s observed there’s much less competition between George and Charlotte, who’s become her big brother’s number one cheerleader. They added: "It’s a very similar dynamic to Charles and Anne, who would have made an incredible monarch. William and Kate agree that modernising the succession rules and the arrival of Charlotte may have stopped this awful fraternal curse."

Prince William visited Brazil this week as part of his ongoing work with the Earthshot Prize. The initiative, launched by the Prince of Wales back in 2020, awards monetary grants to those tackling environmental challenges, and the 2025 ceremony took place in Rio earlier this week.

As part of the event, William was interviewed by journalist and television host Christiane Amanpour. As well as discussing the Prince's commitment to environmentalism, Amanpour also asked the royal about recent comments he made in an episode of The Reluctant Traveler, hosted by actor Eugene Levy. During his appearance on the Apple TV show, William discussed how he hopes to make 'change for good' when he one day becomes King. Although this comment reportedly led to some tension between William and his father, King Charles, he was praised by many for sharing his desire to take a more modern approach.

In the fireside chat, Amanpour asked William if he could elaborate on his comments about change, adding that there has 'been a lot of change in your own family recently'. In recent weeks, William's uncle Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been stripped of all royal titles, including his Prince title. William promptly responded: "I think the Earthshot Prize is a classic example of change. These people in here are the true action heroes of our time. Change will come by backing them, not by what I do."

As per The Sun, this was met with applause from the audience, with William adding: "I want to surround myself with people who want to make change and do good in the world."

According to reports, William has actively distanced himself from Andrew in recent years and was 'furious' when he was photographed next to him at the Duchess of Kent's funeral in September. Royal experts have also claimed that Princess Kate was 'instrumental' in the decision to strip Andrew of his royal titles.

Prince William is currently in Brazil preparing to host the Earthshot Prize, an initiative he set up in 2020 which awards grants to those tackling environmental challenges. The Prince of Wales landed in Rio on Monday and has already made a number of stops - including a visit to Sugarloaf Mountain and a game of volleyball on Copacabana Beach.

The ceremony is set to take place later today, but William's visit to Brazil coincides with another royal trip. Following his arrival in Rio, Prince Harry shared that he would also be travelling overseas; he'll be in Canada to meet with veterans and military personnel for Remembrance week. However, the timing of Harry's announcement led to a wave of online criticism, with some claiming that he was 'upstaging' his estranged older brother. But in a surprising move, a spokesperson issued a statement to the Daily Mail in response to the growing backlash.

They explained that the events were 'planned nearly a year ago' and that 'the date of the main event, the dinner, is set by the charity, not Prince Harry'. The rep added: "The period of Remembrancetide traditionally extends from the 1-11 November and has done since 1918, over 100 years. He can't choose to move those dates."

The spokesperson also claimed that Harry is 'not afforded the same level of security and protection as other working members of the royal family', stating: "It means therefore, that the period of time in which we can release details of events is much more truncated than it is for His Majesty the King or the Prince of Wales."

The Duke of Sussex released a personal essay this morning about what it means to him to be British, which some have called an 'olive branch' to William - speculating that it could have been released early in order to avoid any more clashes with royal scheduling. Prince Harry and King Charles have been working to mend their relationship in recent months, and the estranged father and son spent time together in September - reportedly the first time they have seen one another since February 2024.

Prince George may not be a teenager yet, but the young royal is already preparing for his future as King. The Prince and Princess of Wales have reportedly spoken to their eldest son about his royal responsibilities, and he is now expected to follow certain royal rules - including this strict travel ban.

In recent months, speculation that George will attend Eton College next year has been mounting - and in doing so, he would be following in Prince William's footsteps. But there is another 'significant' royal tradition that George is expected to uphold in the not-so-distant future. Former royal butler Grant Harrold has claimed that the Prince will follow his father's lead when it comes to his work, too. Although George will one day be King, before he ascends the throne it's likely that he'll spend time working in the military. After studying at university, Prince William went on to graduate from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before working as a search and rescue pilot - and Harrold stated that it would be 'strange' if George didn't opt to do something similar.

On behalf of Study Dog, Harrold explained that while he believes George will go to university like both of his parents, 'the real question is whether he will join the armed forces'. He said (via Marie Claire): "It is possible that he could take on the position of being head of the Armed Forces and have little or no experience within their armed forces, and learn about it on the job. But it would be very strange if he stopped the tradition in the military."

Although it's still a long way off for the 12 year old Prince, when he does eventually take on the role of monarch he will also become the Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces. Within the royal family, it is tradition for the men to undertake some form of military training. The late Prince Philip served as a naval officer, while King Charles trained as a pilot with the RAF. Prince Harry also served in the British Army for 10 years and later founded the Invictus Games, a sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.

Harrold continued: "Historically, royals were all about fighting battles and if suddenly that stops, that would be quite significant because that's a big part of what the Royal Family is about. We've always had royals involved in the military or some sort, even if it's for a short period of time. So it should still continue."

Time will tell!

Prince Andrew announced that he would 'no longer' be using his Duke of York title last week. The royal is facing renewed pressure to step down from his royal roles following the release of private emails to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and the posthumous release of Virginia Giuffre's memoir. In a statement, Andrew wrote: "In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family."

It was reported that Prince William plans to completely 'ban' Andrew from royal life when he one day assumes the throne. Royal insiders have claimed that William has held a 'grudge' against his uncle for a number of years, as he was unhappy with how Andrew treated Catherine, Princess of Wales, in the early days of their relationship. However, the numerous scandals surrounding Prince Andrew - from his association with Epstein, to the explosive accusations in recent royal biography, Entitled, and the accusations now levelled against him in Giuffre's memoir - have left William and Kate no choice but to plan for his 'exile' from royal life.

According to royal expert Tina Brown, who wrote the best-selling royal biography The Palace Papers in 2022, William and Kate are looking to 'banish' Andrew from the royal fold completely. Brown claims that the Waleses 'can't abide' by the disgraced Prince and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who has also faced criticism in recent weeks for maintaining contact with Epstein.

In fact, the former Duke and Duchess of York's current home, Royal Lodge, is just four miles away from William and Kate's new home, Forest Lodge, both of which are situated on the Windsor estate - and the set-up is less than favourable for the Waleses, apparently. Andrew's residence has been a point of contention among the royals in recent years, as he has 'refused' to leave the property. In her Substack Fresh Hell, Tina writes (per Daily Mail): "Unless Andrew can be persuaded to banish himself to a cottage on the Balmoral estate or a cushy villa on a Dubai golf course, his scowly, jowly visage will keep seeping back into the national consciousness."

Brown goes on: "How do you disappear a 6-foot-tall, 190-pound, 65-year-old man in robust good health who has an iron-clad contract to live in the Queen Mother’s former mansion, a short neigh from Windsor Castle and just four miles from the new “forever” home of Prince William and Kate, who can’t abide him?"

The author also questioned how the royal family will navigate Andrew's public appearances at important royal events, such as William's future coronation, adding: "The thornier question, perhaps approaching faster than anyone is indelicate enough to discuss, is whether, in the fullness of time, Andrew will be allowed to attend his brother, the king’s, funeral."

Andrew's living situation has been in the spotlight again this week following the release of his lease agreement with the Crown Estate. According to the BBC, the Prince has only ever paid 'token rent' on the property, instead paying large lump sum payments up-front to 'buy himself out of future rent obligations for the duration of the 75-year lease.'

The Palace has not yet commented.

Prince Andrew announced that he is relinquishing his Duke of York title last week. The royal first confirmed he would be stepping away from public life in 2019 following increased public interest in his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and in 2022 he was stripped of his royal patronages amidst a civil case put forward by the late Virginia Giuffre, which was eventually settled privately.

With Giuffre's posthumous memoir released today, and growing pressure for the Palace to address Prince Andrew's relationship with Epstein following the recent release of their private emails, King Charles reportedly advised his brother to make the announcement in a brief phone call on Friday (per The Mirror). In his statement, Prince Andrew claimed that he reached the decision to drop his Dukedom as "continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family".

Although Andrew will retain his HRH title and remain a Prince, it has been reported that Prince William is 'not satisfied' with the Palace's response. One royal source told The Mirror: "After close consultation with his family, and in particular Prince William, the King summoned Andrew to tell him to do the right thing. He was told it was beyond comprehension for him to continue to enjoy the privileges of his position."

A report published by The Times claimed that William will be "ruthless" when it comes to his approach to what insiders have dubbed "the Andrew problem". Earlier this year, journalist Richard Kay claimed that Prince William has "long held a grudge" against Andrew for his treatment of Catherine, Princess of Wales, and he has often disagreed with how King Charles has dealt with Andrew in recent years. Additionally, William was reportedly "furious" that he was photographed with Andrew at the Duchess of Kent's funeral last month, and recently spoke about his plans to make 'changes' to the monarchy when he becomes King.

Following Prince Andrew's statement on Friday, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Mirror: "When William becomes King he is likely to pursue a tough policy and we may never see Andrew or Sarah in public again at a royal event."

Sarah Ferguson is also set to relinquish her Duchess of York title. She has faced criticism in recent weeks for emails that she sent to Epstein in 2011, weeks after publicly condemning him.

The Palace has not yet commented on this story.

Now, a new report claims that William's recent interview with actor Eugene Levy - where he expressed a desire to make substantial changes when he becomes King - indicates exactly where he stands when it comes to Harry and Meghan's royal association.

A source told the National Examiner: "It's pretty much accepted within the royal household that once he does take the throne, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will immediately get their titles yanked. He hasn’t said it publicly but the things he’s said in this interview, this big emphasis on how he will change things, is certainly being seen by a lot of people as him all but coming out and confirming that cutting Harry and Meghan completely loose is part of the plan."

The conversation around Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's titles has been ongoing since the couple left the UK in 2020. Following their decision to step away from royal duties, they retained the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as their official titles but no longer use the 'HRH' styling in public.

How Prince William intends to make changes within the monarchy is yet to be seen, but some insiders have claimed that he has already thought about Harry's involvement in his future coronation, and the Duke of Sussex even responded to claims that his older brother would 'exile' him when he becomes King.

In his candid chat with Eugene Levy on an episode of The Reluctant Traveller, William did speak about his future as monarch, explaining: "I think it's safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good, and I embrace that, I enjoy that change. I don't fear it, that's the bit that excites me, the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical, but changes that I think need to happen.

"I think if you're not careful, history can be a real weight and an anchor around you, and you can feel suffocated by it, and restricted by it too much," he later added. "And I think it's important to live for the here and now. There are points when you look at tradition and go, is that still fit for purpose today? Is that still the right thing to do? Are we still doing and having the most impact we could be having? So I like to question things, is what I'm really getting at."

The Prince and Princess of Wales have lived in several homes across the UK, starting married life in Anglesey, Wales before moving to Norfolk and then on to London. After five years in Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, the couple relocated to Windsor in 2022 where they now live with their three young children.

Prince William and Princess Kate reportedly moved to Adelaide Cottage, which is located on the Windsor Castle estate, to ensure that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis had privacy and freedom. However, after three years, William and Kate are moving once again - and this time, it's to their 'forever home'.

According to new reports, the Wales' are relocating to Forest Lodge - and very soon. The impending royal move has already sparked 'privacy concerns' as the Palace installed metal fences and screens to ensure the family were protected, as per Daily Mail. But the move is 'just weeks away', according to an insider. A source told the Mirror: "It is hoped they will be in the new home in time for Bonfire Night. That will make a fun start for the children."

A second insider added: "The builders have been working flat out, week-in, week-out, so that the family could move in as soon as possible. Christmas was always the deadline but it's great that it's going to happen much earlier."

William and Kate are keen for a 'fresh start' following a difficult few years. They had been living at Adelaide Cottage for just a month when the late Queen Elizabeth II passed away, and in 2024 both Princess Kate and King Charles were diagnosed with cancer - something that William candidly spoke about in a new interview. An additional source told the Daily Mail: "Adelaide Cottage really does have some difficult memories associated with it, sadly. They have experienced some of their most challenging times there... The family are really happy about this [move] and excited for a fresh start."

Just last week, a source claimed that Kate is "quietly rebelling" against royal rules.

In photos obtained by the Mirror, King Charles has framed pictures of Harry and Meghan throughout one of his royal residences. According to the publication, the images can be seen on display at his official Northern Irish residence, Hillsborough Castle, and they include a photograph of Harry and Meghan's engagement, as well as an image of the couple alongside the King, Queen, Prince William and Princess Kate, taken for King Charles' 70th birthday. This has been interpreted as a subtle olive branch from the monarch to the Sussexes after years of estrangement.

A source told the paper: "Royal Historic Palaces make decisions on what they believe to be appropriate. They are also guided by members of The Royal Family, but the decision over what pictures of the family to use ultimately lies with the King."

It isn't the first time that the royals and their choice of family photographs has piqued the interest of royal fans. In late 2019, shortly before their royal departure, a framed photo of Harry and Meghan had been removed from a table in Buckingham Palace. As per the report in the Mirror, it was noted that the King does not currently display any photographs of his brother, Prince Andrew, at the property.

When Levy was asked if anything was off limits during his conversation with William, he revealed that he wasn't actually given any restrictions. During an ITV News interview about their time together, the actor was asked: "Were you ever told you couldn't ask questions, for example, about Harry and Meghan? Did you find that was just something you didn't want to go near?"

Levy responded: "I was not told I couldn't ask anything, but it wasn't really, you know, up to me, to get into that. I had no interest in asking him about that, because it was, you know, very delicate issue and certainly not up to me to get into it."

He added: "I think there were other things, you know, I could lead the conversation to that might be interesting for him and interesting for the world to hear, but that was something I wasn't necessarily interested in getting into."

While William has been praised for his candour during the interview, it is said to have caused tension between him and the King. According to a report, they aren't on speaking terms as Charles felt "betrayed" by William's comments. However, an additional source disputed that there is any rift between the father and son.

When Levy asked William if he misses his grandmother, he replied: "I do actually, yeah, I do miss my grandmother, and my grandfather. It's been quite a bit of change, so you do sort of, you think about them not being here any more, and particularly being in Windsor - for me Windsor is her."

Discussing the late monarch's love of Windsor, William also added: "She loved it here, she spent most of her time here. Showing you around today is very much a case of trying to make sure I'm doing it in the way she'd want you to see it. She had her horses here as well - as you can imagine that was a big deal for her - so that's why she loved it here."

During the episode, William also opened up about the challenges he faced last year as both his wife, Princess Kate, and his father, King Charles, were diagnosed with cancer at the start of 2024. He told the actor: "I'd say 2024 was the hardest year I've ever had. Life is said to test us as well and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are."

When Prince Harry stepped away from royal life in 2020, he relocated to the US and eventually settled in Montecito, California where he now lives with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet. Although Harry has publicly discussed his fractured relationships with Prince William and King Charles, largely during interviews promoting his memoir, Spare, he has rarely commented on how the move has impacted his relationships with his nephews, Princes George and Louis, and his niece, Princess Charlotte.

In the past, Harry was known to have a very close relationship with George in particular. He wrote about the joy of becoming an uncle in his memoir, and during an interview with The Telegraph he explained that he feels a sense of "responsibility" for the Wales children. Speaking of his "worries" for George, Charlotte and Louis, he said: "Though William and I have talked about it once or twice, and he has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility, I still feel a responsibility knowing that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the 'spare'. And that hurts, that worries me."

And it seems that the Duke of Sussex's departure from royal life left a "Harry-shaped gap" in George's life, too. According to body language expert Judi James, another member of the royal family has since stepped in to adopt the "fun uncle" role.

In an piece for The Sun, Judi claimed that Mike Tindall has been "invaluable" to George since Harry moved to the US, telling the publication: "George’s original ‘fun uncle’ and adult playmate did that infamous bolt to the US, leaving a huge Harry-shaped gap in the young boy’s life that Mike has more than filled. Mike is the fun uncle everyone needs, but in the case of Prince George, whose destiny is all about duty and responsible behaviour, Mike’s presence in his life is completely invaluable."

According to Judi, this was evident at the royal Christmas gathering last year, as she added: "While George and his siblings were being nudged to greet the waiting crowd with polite handshakes and smiles, carrying armfuls of gifts they have been given, Mike just took over the action by grabbing George for a stunning and very touchingly hearty partial hug and kissing him on the side of the head."

While it's unclear how often Harry speaks with his niece and nephews nowadays, in his memoir he described the excitement that followed George's birth in 2013. He wrote: "I looked forward to popping in all the time. Look! It’s Uncle Harry! ‘Ello, Just thought I’d stop by. Holding a bottle of wine and an armful of kiddie presents. Dropping to the floor and wrestling with little George."

Prince Harry and King Charles appear to be making amends after several years of estrangement. Following a swift departure from royal life in 2020, Harry has opened up about his strained relationship with the King during various interviews and in his best-selling memoir, Spare. While Prince William reportedly has no desire to reconnect with Harry, the King reportedly spent some time with Harry on his most recent visit to the UK. The Duke of Sussex returned to the capital earlier this month to attend the WellChild Awards, and although a meeting between Harry and the King had not been confirmed prior to his arrival, they did meet for the first time in almost two years. According to Palace sources, Harry and Charles met for a "private tea" at Clarence house.

In the wake of the reunion, there has been speculation that Harry could return to the royal fold in some capacity in the future. However, as per a source who spoke to The Times, King Charles has made it clear that there is no royal future for him. They said: "The King has been absolutely clear in upholding his late mother’s decision that there can be no ‘half-in, half-out’ public role for members of the family."

And it seems that Harry isn't seeking to secure that arrangement, either. He spoke about his love of LA in the Netflix docu-series, Harry & Meghan, and a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex stating to the publication: "The Duke has made it clear that the focus has to be on his dad. Beyond that, and on any other issues as it relates to his family, we won’t be commenting."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the UK in 2020 and relocated to the US with their young son, Archie. The couple has since welcomed their daughter, Lilibet, and the family is now settled in Montecito, California.
