The White Lotus season three is officially underway. And with a dramatic first episode under our belts, fans are eagerly anticipating the rest of the season.

The third instalment of the HBO show is set in Koh Samui, Thailand, seeing a new line up of affluent guests arrive at the infamous White Lotus Hotel.

It is the A-list cast that has been making the most headlines, featuring major names including Aimee Lou Wood and Natasha Rothwell. And from Lalisa Manobal's eye-watering Instagram following, to Sam Nivola's surprisingly famous girlfriend, it is their personal lives that have fascinated the internet the most.

It was season three actor Patrick Schwarzenegger who made headlines this week, as internet detectives resurfaced reports that he once dated singer Miley Cyrus.

Yes, really. Back in 2014, when Cyrus was on a break from on-off partner Liam Hemsworth, she and Schwarzenegger briefly dated, with their relationship reportedly getting serious.

"They have been friends for a long time," an insider explained of their relationship back in 2014, via Us Weekly, adding: "They have a ton of common friends, so they have run in the same circles for years.

"She thinks he’s hot [and] she thinks he’s cool," another source added, via the publication. "Patrick is a nice, good guy. He’s grown up in Hollywood just like her and it was only a matter of time before they hooked up."

The former couple is reported to have split up in April 2015, with timing cited as the reason behind the break up.

"They're just in two different places in their lives," a source told People at the time. "He's in college and she's focused on her music and career."

Schwarzenegger and Cyrus have not spoken publicly about their split, but it is speculated that her 2015 song 'BB Talk' is written about their former relationship.

Miley Cyrus is one of the most talked-about people in the world, and from the ongoing copyright lawsuit on fan-favourite track 'Flowers', to her recent words on the Chappell Roan backlash, she never fails to make headlines.

This week, it was Cyrus' former relationship that made news, as the singer made a series of rare comments about her past marriage to Liam Hemsworth.

Cyrus and Hemsworth dated on and off for 10 years, after meeting on the set of their 2010 film, The Last Song. The couple tied the knot in 2018, before ultimately divorcing in 2020.

"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time," a representative announced in a statement. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. Despite four years passing since their split, the former couple returned to the headlines this week, as Cyrus made two rare comments about her ex husband.

The first took place in her Spotify Billions Club: Series video, when Cyrus was asked about the inspiration behind her infamous track, 'Wrecking Ball'.

The 2013 song has long been reported to be about Hemsworth, with the couple ending their first engagement at the time of release. This was something Cyrus confirmed this week, telling Spotify: "My man wasn’t acting right.”

Cyrus' second comment about Hemsworth came about in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar. The 32-year-old was discussing working with current boyfriend, singer Maxx Morando, when she revealed that she had always liked collaborating with loved ones.

"I worked with my dad forever," Cyrus explained in the interview. "That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much."

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's divorce was finalised in January 2020, but their relationship has been back in the headlines this year following the release of the former Disney star's album, Endless Summer Vacation. 

Miley's song Flowers was released at the start of the year - notably on Liam's birthday - which had netizens speculating that the music video contained various easter eggs alluding to the breakdown of their marriage. The song's success even led to her former sister-in-law Elsa Pataky commenting on the track, and Miley addressed rumours that the album was about Liam. 

Now, she has opened up about the exact moment that she knew her marriage was over and shared what she has since learned about herself after making the decision to separate. 

As part of her Used To Be Young series on TikTok, Miley explained that it was the same day as her Glastonbury performance in 2019.

She shared: "So, I just want to slow down because this is actually serious. 

"So Glastonbury was in June which was when the decision had been made that me and Liam's commitment to being married just really came from, of course, a place of love first because we'd been together for ten years. 

"But also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could."

The former couple had split in 2013 shortly after getting engaged, but later reconciled before marrying in December 2018. However, the couple separated for good less than a year later. 

Miley continued: "The day of the show was the day that I decided it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship.

"So that was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first, and I guess that's why it's now so important to me for that to not be the case - that the human comes first."

Liam filed for divorce two months later in August 2019, citing 'irreconcilable differences' and it was finalised in early 2020. 

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's years-long on and off relationship was famously dramatic, and sadly ended in heartbreak in 2019, when they divorced.

In January, Miley released her instant hit song Flowers which was widely believed to be a nod to the end of their relationship — with many rumoured references to her ex-husband buried in the lyrics and music video. 

While some Easter eggs are hard to deny, such as Miley referencing hers and Liam's Malibu home that burned down in 2018 ("built a home and watched it burn"), some readings of the song are far-fetched and unfounded — and Jennifer Lawrence found herself involved in online chatter about their split. 

Here's the story: when Miley wore a gold dress in the music video for Flowers that looked like the one J-Law wore to the Hunger Games premiere in 2012, many people took it as a dig towards the actor, and rumours circulated that Jennifer and Liam had had a "secret fling". 

An old clip then resurfaced of Jennifer revealing on a chat show that she and Liam had kissed once, telling host Andy Cohen in 2015 that the pair 'grew up together' while filming for the franchise and admitting they had once shared a moment. 

When asked about this on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Jennifer immediately said: "Not true."

She added: "I would love to [respond]. It’s not true. Total rumour.

"I mean, we all know that me and Liam, like, kissed one time. But it was years after they broke up. So I just assume that [the dress incident] was, like, a coincidence."

Miley Cyrus kicked off 2023 with an absolute tune in the form of Flowers. The track was played everywhere and was impossible to miss, with fans wasting no time theorising that the song was about her relationship with ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth. 

Not only was it released on his birthday, but netizens started claiming that the music video was littered with easter eggs that nodded to their 2019 break-up, with online allegations ranging from unusual but plausible to downright bizarre. 

Liam's sister-in-law, Elsa Pataky, even shared what she thought of the song, and it also sparked interest in Miley's new boyfriend, Maxx Morando. 

Following the release of her new album, Endless Summer Vacation, Miley addressed the speculation that her new music is about the Australian actor in an interview with British Vogue.

She said: "I wouldn’t erase my story or want it to be erased. Having an interesting life makes for interesting storytelling."

While Flowers is often attributed to her break-up with Liam, Miley has said she would 'never need to be a master at the craft of tricking an audience' - noting that the album is reflective of a number of romantic situations, and not specifically focused on one in particular. 

During the interview, Miley also discussed how she felt growing up in the spotlight. After landing the leading role in Disney's Hannah Montana back in 2006, Miley became a household name and went on to have a very successful music career. However, after a brief hiatus, she made a comeback with her Grammy-nominated album Bangerz at the age of 20 - but was heavily criticised for her evolving public image. 

She added: "I carried some guilt and shame around myself for years because of how much controversy and upset I really caused.

"Now that I’m an adult, I realise how harshly I was judged. I was harshly judged as a child by adults and now, as an adult, I realise that I would never harshly judge a child."

We've spent the last eight weeks with Miley Cyrus' Flowers in our heads, and we're not the only ones - even the singer's former sister-in-law Elsa Pataky has shared what she really thinks of it. 

The song is rumoured to be about her break-up with actor Liam Hemsworth, and was also released on his birthday in January. 

However, Miley is now happily coupled up with her new boyfriend, Maxx Morando, and the pair even made a rare red carpet appearance at the Versace Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show last week. 

But given that their relationship has been very much kept out of the spotlight, many are asking - who is Maxx Morando?

The 23 year old musician is the drummer of rock band Liily, and while the couple has made a handful of public appearances they are keen to keep their privates lives private.

In November 2021, rumours began to swirl that Miley and Maxx were dating when they attended the Gucci Love Parade fashion show in Los Angeles. Just a month later they were spotted celebrating New Year's Eve together in Miami, and soon after were photographed looking cosy in West Hollywood. 

Last year, a source told E! News that they had bonded over 'being musicians', but they've largely kept their romance under wraps.

In March 2022, Entertainment Tonight reported from a source: "They've been together for a little while and are just enjoying their relationship. Miley likes the fact that they are low-key as a couple and is just focused on doing her thing and being around people that make her happy, and Maxx does that."

Maxx has also produced two tracks on Miley's latest album, Endless Summer Vacation, and shared the artwork on his Instagram page.

Elsa, who has been married to Liam's brother and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth for 13 years, was asked about the song during an interview on the Ana Rosa Show and admitted that she is a fan. 

In an English translation of the Spanish interview, the quote reads: "For [Chris and I], it's a bit of a past story, that's the life she has and what she does."

She also added that while it isn't her place to discuss Liam and Miley's private business, she 'loves' Flowers. 

Elsa said: "I admire the song, I love it, I have listened to it and it is very good."

Miley and Elsa shared a close bond when the Hannah Montana star was in a relationship with Liam, with the pair even getting matching tattoos back in 2016.
