There are some things that Titanic fans universally agree on - no one could have played Jack Dawson other than Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet's shade of auburn is superior and it's impossible to let go of a bath bomb without doing the older Rose gasp. However, the one thing that has caused the most controversy over the last three decades is whether or not Jack could have fit onto the floating piece of wood instead of being left to perish in the icy waters. 

But if anyone can find out, it's the new owners of the iconic prop. The infamous piece - which, according to Heritage Auctions, was actually modelled on debris salvaged from the original wreckage - measures 2.4m long and 1m wide, with the listing acknowledging just how much of a cultural phenomenon this legendary piece has become. And if you're wondering just how much it costs to get your hands on a slice of priceless (ahem) Hollywood history, the prop's new guardians parted with a cool £718,750 (£569,739) to secure the deal. 

The sale was made by Planet Hollywood as part of an auction which also included props from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (a whip which sold for a staggering $525,000), and Jack Nicholson's axe from The Shining (which fetched $125,000). 

People have re-created the final scenes of Titanic to prove whether or not there was room for Jack and Rose, but after 27 years the debate rages on. Kate Winslet reckons Jack probably could have squeezed on if he tried a little harder. Leonardo DiCaprio has consistently refused to comment. And in 2022, director James Cameron revealed that he tried to settle the debate once and for all by conducting a full-blown experiment with stunt doubles and forensic analysts. The conclusion? "Only one could survive."

Still, it might be something we all just talk about forever. At least when our grandchildren bring it up over Sunday lunch we'll finally be able to say: "It's been 84 years..."

We've all started a new job and felt that nerves have got the better of us on our first day - so when a colleague takes us under their wing, it's always comforting.

But just imagine if that person was Avatar actress, Kate Winslet. That's exactly what happened to teenage journalist Martha, who was talking to the Hollywood star for her first ever celebrity interview.

As she told the Titanic actor this, and Kate sensed her neves, she kindly told her: "We got this."

Kate, who has spoken openly about being body shamed in the early days of her career, is super supportive in the now-viral video, with fans claiming that she is a 'sweetheart' and that she is a brilliant role model for kindness. 

Martha was interviewing Kate for German broadcaster ZDF and straight away Kate could tell that the teenager was new to the job. 

The video, which has had around 5 million views, stars with the Oscar winner asking: "Is this is your first time doing it?"

As Martha nods, Kate goes on to say: "OK, well, guess what? When we do this interview, it’s going to be the most amazing interview ever. And do you know why? Because we’ve decided that it is going to be."

As Martha laughs at the pep talk, Kate continues: "So, we’ve decided right now, me and you, this is going to be a really fantastic interview. And you can ask me anything that you want and you don’t have to be scared, everything is going to be amazing. OK, you got this. OK, let’s do it."

Wow - what lovely words, and Twitter thought the same with one celebrity journalist even admitting just how daunting interviews can be, writing: "Words of encouragement and kindness like this can go such a long way."

Another fan said, "That’s the mark of a decent person," and someone else added, "In another life, Kate Winslet would be the most amazing teacher."

It's been 84 years since the raging debate about Jack Dawson's fate in Titanic was ignited. 

Okay, it has actually been 25 years - with the movie celebrating its quarter century birthday this week - but it feels like the question of whether Leonardo DiCaprio's character would have fit on the floating door will never truly be answered. Will we still be talking about it when we're Rose's age at the start of the movie? Probably.  

Many things have happened in the last twenty five years - iPhones, Game of Thrones, several royal weddings - but Titanic fans still can't make their minds up. 

Over the years, Leo has been asked for his thoughts on it all but has remained tight lipped about his opinion. 

Back in 2019, host Joshua Horowitz was interviewing Leo alongside Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt while they starred in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. 

He asked for the Wolf of Wall Street star's verdict on door gate, and while Margot expressed her sadness at watching Jack float to the bottom of the ocean, Leo smiled as he refused to answer, stating: "No comment."

Kate Winslet has also been asked about it previously, and she once told Jimmy Kimmel that Jack 'could have actually fit on that bit of door'. 

However, when Horowitz showed her the clip of Leo refusing to comment during an interview for the Happy Sad Confused podcast, she laughed: "I don't f**king know. No, that's the answer is that I don't f**king know.

"All I can tell you is I do have a decent understanding of water and how it behaves, I really do. If you put two adults on a standup paddle board, it becomes immediately extremely unstable, that is for sure.

"I actually don't believe that we would have survived if we had both gotten on that door. I think that he could have fit, but it would have tipped and it would not have been a sustainable idea."

Director James Cameron also wants to put the debate to bed once and for all. Last week, he told The Toronto Sun: "We have done a scientific study to put this whole thing to rest and drive a stake through its heart once and for all.

"We have since done a thorough forensic analysis with a hypothermia expert who reproduced the raft from the movie.'

He added that the experiment used "two stunt people who were the same body mass of Kate and Leo", continuing: "We put sensors all over them and inside them and we put them in ice water and we tested to see whether they could have survived through a variety of methods and the answer was, there was no way they both could have survived.

"Only one could survive."

Well, that's that. 

For now, anyway...

While Hollywood has made strides in terms of body positivity in recent years, many actors have recalled shocking stories about their experience in the industry during the 90s and early noughties. 

Kate Winslet has never been shy about talking the truth - from the cost of living to body image - but now the Titanic actress has revealed how harsh Hollywood was when she was first trying to get acting roles.

The actress spoke to the Sunday Times about how those in the film industry would body shame her, asking her agent if she'd lost weight. However, she's compared it to today's social media criticism over body image.

The actress, who appears in the sequel to Avatar, also went on to say that despite how harsh social media can be, at least young people have a platform to speak out.

 She admitted in the interview: "When I was younger my agent would get calls saying, 'How's her weight?' I kid you not. So it's heartwarming that this has started to change."

Kate also said in the interview that she was called 'blubber' when she was younger - in reference to her figure, while those in the film industry said she should just 'settle' for 'fat girl' roles.

The Mare of Easttown actress obviously got the last laugh as she's now worth an estimated $65m after bagging big roles in films such as Titanic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Little Children.

She says that Hollywood is thankfully becoming more inclusive, but Kate - who has three children - says she worries about the younger generation who have to grow up with social media, which can be just as harsh as Hollywood was for her.

"It can be extremely negative. People are subject to scrutiny that is more than a young, vulnerable person can cope with," she added.

Despite this, she knows that social media can also be a platform for good: "My daughter's generation has the ability to speak for themselves. They have already learned that they will be heard. Obviously not in every situation, but they know how to use their voice — especially young women. That's striking to me. 

"When I was younger you spoke when spoken to. That is not the case now. Young women are stronger. And they're prouder of their bodies."

The new Girl on the Train film is out soon

With just a few weeks until The Girl on the Train finally hits cinemas, we’re getting pretty excited. Especially after seeing the film’s stars out in force last night for its London premiere.

In homage to the film, Leicester Square was transformed into a train line, with Emily Blunt, Luke Evans and Haley Bennett all making an appearance on the temporary tracks.

Emily Blunt’s beaded floral dress by Alexander McQueen made a colourful change for the actress after playing the lead character of Rachel Watson, an overweight alcoholic divorcee who becomes obsessed with a couple she sees every morning on her commute. Paula Hawkins recently explained that they had to make the actress ‘look at bit sh*t’ to play the role in the screen adaptation of her best-selling book to ensure ‘too beautiful’ Emily was in keeping with the character.

Meanwhile, Haley Bennett sparkled in a beaded Valentino dress for the premiere as she took to the makeshift train platform. In the film, Haley plays the role of Megan, the perfect wife who Rachel daydreams about from the train who suddenly disappears. Not that she was in any danger of disappearing into the crowds at the premiere – doesn’t she look amazing?

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Emily said: 'I was completely sucked into it and thrilled by the idea that your protagonist was a blackout drunk. That’s very unusual. Especially in cinema, to have a woman who’s just so messed up at the forefront of the film.'

It's only been nearly two years since Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl had fans of the novel at the edge-of-their-seats with David Fincher's adaptation. But today, thriller fans can rejoice once again as its spiritual successor, Paula Hawkin's hugely popular novel, The Girl on the Train, is nearing release - a brand new trailer has just dropped.

Starring Emily Blunt as Rachel Watson, the unemployed lonely alcoholic who serves as the protagonist of the novel, Emily was seen dashing around New York City over the past few weeks as she filmed scenes for the eagerly awaited adaptation. The DreamWorks film will be directed by Tate Taylor (The Help) with screenplay by Erin Cressida Wilson (The Secretary).

In February, a few weeks after Emily announced her second pregnancy with husband John Krasinski, the actress was seen looking gorgeous while filming. Their second daugher, Violet, was born at the end of June.

Though we've seen Emily as Rachel, we've yet to see her co-stars get in front of the camera. Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation) and Jennifer Aniston's husband, Justin Theroux, have been confirmed to play Anna and Tom, while the role of Megan will be played by Haley Bennett.

And Megan's husband, Scott? Well, Jared Leto was rumoured to be in the running for the role, but now Welsh actor Luke Evans will be rounding out the cast.

Girl On The Train tells the story from the point of view of Rachel who commutes on the train to London everyday and imagines (more like obsesses over) the lives of a couple she watches through the train windows (who she nicknames Jason and Jess). Rachel soon becomes embroiled in her escapist imaginings, returning home one night covered in blood with the news that ‘Jess’ has gone missing. The story is told from the perspective of three women: Rachel, Megan (‘Jess’) and Anna – the new wife of Rachel’s ex-husband, Tom. Each woman is a complex character with their own take on the same events and it’s our job to complete the jigsaw.

We were absolutely gripped and can only imagine the film will be just as captivating. It seems the film adaptation will be relocating the novel to the United States (bummer), and we expect Emily will be trading her native British accent for an American twang.

Though the cast is all set and the film is being planned for an October 2016 release, we can't help but look back at our own dream cast wishes from earlier this year.

See who we thought would've been perfect for the roles of the three leading ladies. Don’t worry, no spoilers.

RACHEL: She’s the central character and a hopeless sad sack. Her narration is utterly unreliable and peppered with gaps. Once married to Tom, she is now divorced and miserable. But perhaps she’s been underestimated…

Emily Blunt At the top of the running. Blunt would have to rough herself up a little to get into character for this role but we think she would surprise us all with her versatile acting skills.

Renee Zellweger Based on her Bridget Jones years, we reckon Zellweger could bring a real likeability to Rachel’s character.

Kate Winslet Thinking about it, there isn’t really a role that Winslet would be rubbish in. She’d be great as Rachel- able to bring the raw emotion and desperation that the part requires.

MEGAN: A 29-year-old short, slim, arty blonde. She’s a complicated character – a hot, vulnerable mess with some dark secrets. The book centres around her sudden and mysterious disappearance.

Carey Mulligan A definite contender. We think Mulligan could bring the air of mystery that Megan requires, based on her roles in Drive and Shame. Also, she’s got the cute looks that Hawkins describes Megan having in the book.

Anna Kendrick Megan is viewed as a bit of a cool cat and Kendrick is just that. She has the chutzpah to pull of some of the things that Megan gets up to. We say no more.

Sienna Miller She’s beautiful and a brilliant, versatile actor who could definitely master Megan’s tortured vibe. (Think of her as Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl).

ANNA: The other woman. A yummy mummy and a bit of a snob, she’s got that picket-fence perfection that we love to hate. But she’s not without her share of sass…

Kate Mara We’ve seen her kick-ass as spunky journalist, Zoe Barnes, in Netflix original, House of Cards and she’s in the remake of the Fantastic Four. Mara has also been in talks for a role in the film but it’s not clear which one. We think she’d be brilliant for the part - capturing the snooty, rigid elements of Anna and ideal once the claws come out.

Rosamund Pike After her flawless depiction of the brilliantly manipulative Amy Dunne in Gone Girl, Pike has to be in the running. Her cool nonchalance would be perfect for Anna.

Kate Winslet has admitted that she is so bad with gadgets, she ‘breaks things without even looking at them’ - that's despite taking on the role of possibly one of the world’s greatest tech innovators in the new Steve Jobs biopic.

The actress, who plays former Apple developer Joanna Hoffman in the film, out on 13th November, told Newsbeat, ‘I'm terrible. I am the least techie person you will ever meet, I'm rubbish.’

‘[My husband Ned Rocknroll and I] are not strict, but you have to have rules I think and we certainly have those, yes,’ she said of her approach to introducing technology into the lives of her three children, Mia, 15, Joe, 11, and Bear, 1.

Kate Winslet is approaching her 40th birthday like a boss.

Kate Winslet will soon be gracing a cinema screen near you in new movie A Little Chaos. The actress plays Sabine De Barra, a landscape gardener commissioned to design an extravagant rockery for King Louis XIV's gardens of Versailles in the period drama, directed by Alan Rickman.

The 39-year-old was pregnant with son Bear, now 16 months old, at the time of shooting and, because she was in the early stages of prenancy, kept it a secret from cast and crew. Of course, this had it's challenges. 'The early stage of pregnancy for me is quite hard to hide,' she told us. 'I go through the biggest period of growth in the beginning part, so huge boobs in a corset, in your hands and knees in the mud, gardening.

'I mean, it was honestly quite uncomfortable, plus I did actually have quite bad morning sickness so I'd be hiding the fact I'd been throwing up. It was quite a lot to cope with but you just get on with it, don't you?'

The actress, who has starred in 30 films over her two-decade career, is approaching her 40th birthday in October like a boss. Having carved a hugely successful path in Hollywood and now happily married to third husband, Ned Rocknroll, since 2012, the Oscar-winner is happier and more confident now than ever before and completely unphased by the milestone.

'I'm really happy in my own skin. There's a lot of judgement that can come from outside sometimes, and there's media scrutiny that is placed on a lot of women in the public eye, and I just couldn't care less. I really couldn't care less.

'I would sometimes say in my twenties, 'oh, I couldn't care less', but I think I probably did. Now I genuinely don't and that's a lovely, liberating thing to experience.'

A Little Chaos opens in cinemas April 17.

Kate Winslet made her red carpet return in style.

We haven't seen Kate Winslet on a red carpet since last September and, oh, how we've missed her. But she was back with a bang at the UK premiere of A Little Chaos in London last night.

Rocking the sort of form-fitting bodycon that she wears so well, the actress posed for photographers and signed autographs in a custom-made midnight blue Stella McCartney dress.

We teamed up with Lancôme on the shoot and so, naturally, conversation turned to all things beauty, and what Kate had to say was refreshingly honest and, above all things, normal.

How can you not love an A-list actress who admits that she sometimes wakes up looking as if she's 'spent a few hours in the ring' and who gets bored of people referring to her 'dewy' skin, when, in reality, it can be anything but.

'I had a terrible bout of acne after I turned 30, she tells us. 'I kept reading about my sodding dewy complexion and thinking, "Oh shit, look at me, I'm covered in bloody spots, proper cystic bumps, if only they knew..."'

On the topic of diets, more specifically Hollywood diets, Kate doesn't hold back. 'Whenever I go to LA the make-up artist or hairdresser will end up having a conversation about how fat they think they are and I really just can't take it seriously at all,' she says.

'I'm just like, "Yeah, you're right, you look gigantic, you need to lay off those bolied bits of chicken you've been eating because have you seen your arse?" And they're the size of a blinking pin. I'm no stranger to the occasional dodgy juice, but it doesn't taste very nice and it is bloody boring. It's not a way to live.'

The actress explains why she still cringes over her Titanic nude scene and refuses to sign copies of that naked drawing

When Kate Winslet stripped down for that steamy portrait-drawing scene in Titanic, she never thought the pictures would still be following her around 17 years later.

The 38-year-old actress revealed to Yahoo! that her fans have a somewhat creepy habit of printing out copies of the drawing that Leonardo DiCaprio's character did of her in the hit 1997 film - and asking her to sign them.

Even worse? They also print out screengrabs of her actually naked, posing for the sketch.

'I don't sign that [picture],' Kate said. 'It feels very uncomfortable. Why would you do that? People ask me to sign that a lot.'

She continued, 'There's a photo of it as well that someone has lifted from a still of the film, and that photo gets passed around too. I'm like "No! I didn't mean for it to be a photograph that I would end up seeing still 17 years later."'

But clearly Kate's fans are not getting the message. She's been on a whirlwind press tour over the past few weeks, promoting her upcoming film Divergent - and the Titanic pics just keep cropping up.

One fan presented her with the drawing at the Los Angeles premire, and another handed her the naked picture at the London premiere. But at least that one was cropped from the chest up...

Kate Winslet has been walking red carpets for 20 years now - and by this point, she knows what works.

The 38-year-old actress turned up for the Divergent premiere in Los Angeles last night wearing a stunning red dress, with her blonde waves hanging loose.

The Safiyaa dress hugged her curves and perfectly flattered her gorgeous post-baby body. (Is anyone else finding it hard to believe that this woman just gave birth to her third child a few months ago?)

As she greeted fans and cosied up to costar Shailene Woodley, the English actress was positively glowing - and we have to say, the bright colour of the dress seemed to be the cause.

Clearly, Kate has also noticed how lovely she looks in red. It's become quite apparent that it's her favourite red-carpet shade. In fact, it's been very rare to see the Oscar winner in any colour other than red, black or white in recent years.

Sure, it might be nice to see Kate in a pastel or a print here and there - but her signature shade is definitely working for her. And who doesn't love to see a lady in red?

The actress made her first post-baby public appearance - and dished about the earthquake she experienced earlier that day

Kate Winslet made her first post-baby public appearance on Monday afternoon.

The British actress, 38, gave birth to her third child, son Bear Winslet, on 7 December 2013. Now, three months later, she's looking healthy, happy and hotter than ever.

The Oscar winner - who married Ned Rocknroll in 2012 - was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame for her outstanding acting achievements.

For the ceremony, Kate chose a classic LBD - a dress that not only flattered her curves but also allowed her to sit on the ground during the star ceremony. (That's no easy combination!)

When Kate stepped up to accept her award, she seemed a bit flustered - which is understandable, considering Los Angeles suffered a 4.4-magnitude earthquake earlier that day.

'I had no idea this would be such a well-attended event - especially after the earthquake this morning. It frightened me quite a lot, actually. I made for a doorframe with my breast pump in my hand!'

During the event, Kate was honoured by her Titanic costar Kathy Bates, as well as her Divergent costar Shailene Woodley.

'As a young woman it has been such an honour to see somebody who has navigated this industry in such a beautiful and professional way,' said the 22-year-old actress.

'I couldn't be more honoured to know you and to work with you and to learn from you.'

Kate Winslet has shared some words of wisdom for Miley Cyrus, as she opens up about fame in a new interview.

The Titanic star, who gave birth to a baby boy last month, said she worries young stars like Miley had ‘lost their way’.

Kate told Psychologies magazine: ‘You hear horror stories where you think, ‘God, who’s looking after these people and why does it seem like they’re losing their way?’.

‘I mean, you think about someone like Miley Cyrus, and I said to my daughter the other day, 'I'm this close to opening my mouth about what's going on with that girl',’ she continued. ‘Who is actually saying, 'Stop for a second, what do you want, who are you?'

‘I've just been very lucky that I've always been quite comfortable with who I am. Sometimes people ask, ‘What do you wish for your children?’ and all I say is, ‘I want them to be happy being them.’

Turning the blame over to the industry, she said: ‘It’s really rough now. I think, for young actors, actresses and pop stars, it’s a nightmare. They can’t do anything. I’m so not going near that whole world - I don’t need it. I do feel incredibly lucky.”

The Oscar-winning actress went on to talk about her marriage to Richard Brandon’s nephew, Ned Rocknroll, revealing: ‘People say to me, ‘You cook?’ and I’m like, ‘Who else is going to f****** cook?’

‘It’s funny, this notion that when you become a famous person, you stop doing normal things,’ admitted the mum-of-three, who lives in West Sussex with her family. ‘Maybe some people do, but I think I’d be so unhappy if I didn’t do it.

‘Ned is absolutely incredible and he looks after us all.’

Kate Winslet is said to be considering taking legal action after the parents’ rights group, Fathers4Justice, used her image negatively in a new campaign.

The controversial Christmas campaign uses a picture the Oscar-winning actress alongside the caption: ‘Kate, every child deserves a father this Christmas.’

The British star’s solicitors Schillings have since issued the group with a legal letter, claiming the ad is ‘misleading and seriously defamatory.’

Having just welcomed a new baby boy to third husband Ned Rocknroll, Kate was targeted by the action group after comments she made about her children’s’ living arrangements in a recent interview.

‘My kids don’t go back and forth,’ she said. ‘None of this 50/50 time with the mums and dads – my children live with me, that is it.’

Fathers4Justice defended its shocking campaign by saying: ‘We are running this advert as part of a campaign to highlight the sensitive issue of four million children waking up on Christmas Day without their father.

‘It is clear from what Kate says that she does not support ‘shared parenting’.’

But Kate’s ex-husband Sam Mendes – the dad to her nine-year-old son Joe - has jumped to her defence: ‘It is inappropriate for this organisation to involve my family and I when they know nothing of our personal circumstances.

‘Whilst I fully support fathers’ rights, I can happily state this has never been a concern for me or my son.’

In 2004, Kate’s first husband Jim Threapleton, father to her 13-year-old daughter, Mia, spoke out in support of Fathers4Justice: ‘I empathise with the fathers, although I do not agree with the militant side of what they do.’

Schillings confirmed the firm had been instructed to act on behalf of Winslet.

Hollywood will host the 71st Golden Globe Awards on Sunday 12 January, and it's set to be another glorious red carpet affair judging by this stella nominees list.

Jennifer Lawrence is up for Best Supporting Actress for her role in American Hustle, while Cate Blanchett's incredible role in Blue Jasmine earns her a Best Actress nomination alongside Kate Winslet for Labor Day and Sandra Bullock in Gravity.

Idris Elba's portrayl of the late Nelson Mandela in Long Walk To Freedom leaves him with a much-deserved spot on the Best Actors list, facing competition from Tom Hanks and Matthew McConaughey.

Meanwhile ITV's Downton Abbey could win big in the Best TV Drama category if it can see off the likes of Breaking Bad and House of Cards.

The 38-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who is expecting her third child, draped her pregnancy curves in the red embellished showstopper, teaming her figure-flattering dress with black peeptoe heels, a black silk clutch and dainty De Beers silver drop earrings.

The Lancôme face finished off her red carpet look for the BFI London Film Festival event by piling her loose blonde curls into a chic updo and letting her natural pregnancy glow shine through with simple yet flawless make-up. Gorgeous! 

Kate, who was seen placing a protective hand over her bump as she posed for the awaiting paparazzi, is already mother to two children - daughter Mia Honey with actor Jim Threapleton and son Joe Alfie with director Sam Mendes. But this will be her first child with new husband Ned Rocknroll, who the actress married in December 2012.

The British-born actress recently spoke out about body image in a candid new interview, where she revealed that she’d rather be there for her children than 'spend time thinking about the size of my arse'. 

'Look. I’m 37 years old. We have one life. I don’t want to spend my time thinking about the size of my arse. I want to be as healthy as I can be, and I want to have as much fun as I can have,' Kate told Time Out magazine.

'I want to be around for my children. That’s it. Those are the priorities. Not getting a flat stomach.'

And that is why we love her. Kate has not yet confirmed her due date, but by the size of that gorgeous bump, it won’t be long now!

The Oscar-winning actress, who is currently pregnant with her third child, opened up about body confidence in an interview with Time Out to promote her upcoming movie, Labor Day.

'Look. I’m 37 years old. We have one life. I don’t want to spend my time thinking about the size of my arse. I want to be as healthy as I can be, and I want to have as much fun as I can have,' Kate told the magazine.

'I want to be around for my children. That’s it. Those are the priorities. Not getting a flat stomach.'

The Lancôme face also revealed that she thinks other actresses are changing their attitudes towards body shape, focusing on being healthy rather than just thin.

'Don’t get me wrong, I like staying fit and healthy, it’s all part of a healthy attitude to life. I don’t think I’m alone in this.

'I’m seeing more and more curvier actresses out there. And every now and then the fashion world will give us a slightly curvier model. I just believe in being normal and healthy.'

Kate Winslet, who has always been an outspoken spokesmodel for body confidence, famously complained when a 2003 GQ cover she featured on was digitally airbrushed, saying at the time: 'I do not look like that and more importantly I don’t desire to look like that.'

In 2011, Winslet formed the 'Anti-Plastic Surgery League' with fellow stars Rachel Weisz and Emma Thompson, explaining: 'I am an actress, I don’t want to freeze the expression of my face.'

Don't expect Kate to go on some crazy post-baby boot camp diet once she gives birth to her baby, her first with husband Ned Rocknroll, whom she wed last December.

‘How does anyone have the time? Also, let’s be real here. Everyone is different. Springing back into shape after a baby, that’s not really something that’s ever happened particularly swiftly for me. That’s just me,' she tells Time Out.

Kate Winslet is expecting her first baby with Ned Rocknroll, just six months after their wedding.

Kate Winslet is pregnant with her third child, a spokesperson for the actress has confirmed today.

The 37-year-old actress married Richard Branson's nephew, Ned Rocknroll, six months ago after a whirlwind romance. It'll be the first child for the pair and they are both said to be "delighted". The baby is due later this year.

Kate already has two children from previous marriages – Mia, 12, whose father is Jim Threapleton. Kate was married to Jim for three years from 1998 to 2001. She is also mum to 10-year-old Joe, from her marriage to Sam Mendes, which ended in 2010 after seven years.

Kate famously met Ned Rocknroll, who works at Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic firm, while on holiday at Necker Island in 2011. She carried Richard's 90-year-old mother to safety after a horrific house fire.

Back in a 2006 interview, Kate admitted: "I’m hoping to have more kids. I don’t know whether one or two. Oh, God, I would love to have more."

Ned was born Ned Abel Smith, before legally changing his name by deed poll in 2008. He has also been married before.

Kate Winlset has vowed to fight for her right to a normal family life in the wake of Ned Rocknroll's success in blocking the publication of 'embarrassing' photos.

Yesterday, Kate, 37, and her new husband won a High Court bid to stop The Sun printing ‘innocent but embarrassing’ photographs of him at a birthday party two years ago.

Following the ruling the couple issued a joint statement saying that they will continue to try to live a normal life.

The British actress’ spokesperson revealed the news telling MailOnline: ‘I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rocknroll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family.

‘The couple have been engaged since the summer.’

Kate split from her first husband, Jim Threapleton in 2001 after three short years together before having her first secret wedding. She married her second husband, Skyfall director, Sam Mendes in a clandestine ceremony in 2003 in the Caribbean with only three friends and her daughter, Mia, present.

Hatmaker Natalie Ellner revealed to the Telegraph that Kate also had a hand in creating her eclectic headpiece for the once-in-a-lifetime occasion,

‘It's taken about a month to create, going backwards and forwards with Kate,’ she said. ‘She had a lot of input, it had to reflect her personality.

‘It's such an important, once-in-a-lifetime occasion, it's nice to have a statement piece… this is what evolved.’

The Titanic screen test that hurtled 19-year-old Kate Winslet into the spotlight and sealed her fate as one of Hollywood's leading ladies, has been released.

Filmed in 1996, the young strawberry blonde actress, who had only a handful of previous roles including Heavenly Creatures and Sense and Sensibility, appears opposite Law and Order's Jeremy Sisto in the part of Jack Dawson (later played, famously, by Leonardo DiCaprio).

Kate secured the role after going up against a host of leading ladies like Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow whilst a fresh-faced Leo beat tipped the likes of Sisto, Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey for the part of Jack.

The new footage is released as Titanic is released on Blu-ray this week, putting Winslet's breakout role back in the limelight again.

Titanic may have been the second-highest grossing movie of all-time, but it's award-winning star has mied feelings about the film.

'Seriously, we are talking about something that happened 15 years ago. It is a very long time ago. I've learned so much, and I've changed as a person so much since then. It is really quite weird.

'Can you imagine anything stranger? It's going to be like, famous all over again, 'Titanic' all over again!'

Gary Barlow, 41, has been recognised for his string of number one hits and his services to music. We're pretty sure that organising the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert and writing HRH's commemorative song 'Sing' didn't hurt either!

A royal source told The Sun: 'The Queen was delighted with Gary Barlow’s brilliant work and dedication. She made it clear he should be rewarded at the first available opportunity.'

Oscar-winner Kate Winslet will also receive an award in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, unveiled on Saturday, for her significant contribution to modern Britain.

Kate Winslet sent a camera and her favourite hat to a few famous friends in a bid to raise awareness for autism

Inspired by a mother's courage to communicate with her autistic son, and a poem he wrote, Kate Winslet made it her mission to raise awareness of the capabilities of those with autism.

Inspired by The Golden Hat, written by autistic teenager Keli Thorsteinsson, Kate sent her beaten up trilby to as many well-known people as she could.

She then asked the famous-faces, including Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio and Julianne Moore, to photograph themselves wearing it.

'Amazingly nearly every person I asked said yes,' says Kate, who created a book of the self-portraits to accompany Keli's writings and his mother Margret Ericsdottir's story of living with an autistic child.

The proceeds from the book will go to the Golden Hat Foundation, a charity set up by Margret and Kate to improve awareness about the talents of autistic people.

The Golden Hat also celebrates some of the first communications of people with non-verbal autism.

It took sufferer Josh Andrus until he was 19 before he was able to communicate this message to his parents: 'Try and fully understand my condition, I get so lonely.'

'With your generosity and support we can change the world for people living with autism,' says Kate.

AUTISM FACTS

All Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) result in communication and language difficulties. Up to 25 per cent of individuals with ASD can't speak because they can't physically say words or because it's thought, they don't understand the meaning of language.

Sufferers of non-verbal who do understand what other people say to them still generally prefer to use other forms of communication, such as visual symbols or sign language.

Speech in non-verbal sufferers is impaired because of differences in brain function that inhibit spoken language.

Non-verbal sufferers often use communication tools such as voice-output devices that read messages aloud.

This is her first serious relationship since splitting with film director Sam Mendes - with whom she has a son called Joe Alfie - in 2010 after seven years of marriage.

Before meeting Rocknroll, Kate briefly dated the gorgeous Burberry model Louis Dowler.

Kate’s first marriage to assistant director Jim Threapleton produced Kate’s first child, Mia Honey, but ended in divorce after just three years.

George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Gosling all received nods for the 2012 awards

It’s that time again! The run up to awards season has already begun and this afternoon the nominees for the 69th Golden Globe Awards were announced - with George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Gosling all receiving nods.

GOLDEN GLOBES 2011

Silent movie The Artist attracted the most nominations of all, garnering mentions in six categories, while The Descendants and The Help each gained five.

Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney and Ryan Gosling both earned two nominations each, while they’ll go up against Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender in the prestigious Best Actor category.

Meanwhile, girl of the moment Rooney Mara was nominated for Best Actress for her role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, alongside Meryl Streep, Tilda Swinton, Viola Davis and Glenn Close.

Other A-listers to receive acting nods include Kate Winslet, Michelle Williams and Owen Wilson, with The Ides of March, Warhorse and Moneyball all featuring in the Best Film category.

Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie is nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category, for directorial debut In The Land of Blood and Honey.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? Actress Kate Winslet clearly thinks so, as she walked the red carpet in Paris last night in a red and black body-con dress by Stella McCartney similar to one she wore just a couple of months ago, which showed off her curves to perfection.

The Oscar-winner broke the Hollywood style rule of never wearing the same outfit twice, albeit in a different colour. Kate first wore the figure-hugging Octavia dress back in September in a black and white style at the Mildred Pierce premiere at the 2011 Venice Film Festival.

Not that she needed it, but the sporty designer number from Stella McCartney's autumn/winter 2011 collection makes the wearer appear even thinner than usual thanks to some clever colour blocking panels down the side, which have made the dress a firm favourite with celebrities and regular shoppers alike.

This time Kate wore a red and black version instead, which she teamed with sparkling black peep-toe sandals and jewellery, as she promoted her new film, Carnage, alongside co-star John C. Reilly and director Roman Polanski in the French capital.

'I’m just so glad that everyone is safe,' the actress said of this week's dramatic events

Kate Winslet has spoken out about escaping the devastating fire on Richard Branson’s Necker Island, which swept through the sprawling Great House on Tuesday.

The actress, children Mia, ten and seven-year-old Joe, and boyfriend – reported to be model Louis Dowler – were staying as guests of Richard Branson at the private property, when lightning struck and fire broke out at the luxury holiday home.

At the time, Kate swept into action helping evacuate the house and carrying Branson’s 90-year-old mother to safety.

And earlier this week, the Virgin tycoon praised the Oscar-winner’s brave actions, writing on his blog: ‘Special congratulations and lots of hugs went to Kate Winslet’s two beautiful children Mia, 10 and Joe, 7 – they were real troupers and two of the bravest kids I’ve ever come across!’

Today the actress has finally spoken out about the dramatic events. 

‘I’m just so glad that everyone is safe. And this very easily could not have been the case,’ she said. 

‘I will never forget Richard placing his arms around both my children as we were watching the flames, and saying, “At the end of the day, what you realise is that all that matters is the people that you love. Everything else is just stuff. And none of that stuff matters”.’

Yesterday, Branson vowed he would try to rebuild the destroyed property in time to host daughter Holly’s December wedding.

‘We would love to get the house rebuilt in time but we know there is so much work to be done but we will start as soon as possible and it’s safe to do so,’ he said.

‘Simply put we suspect that there may be slightly more tents for the wedding guests on the beach now but Holly and Freddie’s wedding will definitely still happen here!’

The actress, her boyfriend and two children were staying as guests of the tycoon when a devastating fire broke out

Kate Winslet and her children were among guests who escaped a devastating fire at Richard Branson’s holiday home on Necker Island last night, after lightning struck the luxury holiday home.

The actress, children Mia, ten and seven-year-old Joe and boyfriend – reported to be model Louis Dowler – were staying as guests of Richard Branson at the private property, along with other friends, and Richard’s wife, mother, daughter Holly and son Sam.

Speaking of the dramatic event, which occurred when island was hit by a 90mph hurricane, Branson said: ‘Around 20 people were in the house and they all managed to get out and they are all fine.

‘We had a really bad tropical storm with winds up to 90mph. A big lightning storm came around 4am and hit the house. It took hold incredibly quickly, with flames 100ft high. It ripped through the house very quickly.

‘Sam heard explosions in the main house and raised the alarm. He and my nephew Jack rushed to the house and helped get everyone out.

'Kate Winslet, her boyfriend and her family were there and Holly and some of her friends were also staying. My mother was there and they managed to get her out and she is fine.

‘The main house is completely destroyed and the fire is not yet completely out. My office was based in the house and I have lost thousands of photographs and my notebooks, which is very sad. But all family and friends are well – which in the end is all that really matters.’

Speaking of Winslet’s dramatic role in the rescue efforts, he continued: ‘It was she who carried my mother out of the house. She said it was like being on a film set where you’re waiting for the words “cut” but they just don’t come. So it was quite surreal for her to be in a real-life situation.

‘She carried my Mum out of the house. My Mum is 90 and can walk but it was more just to speed the process up than anything else but anyway, she was great. She swept her up into her arms and got them out of the house as fast as possible.’

Today the media tycoon – who was hoping to host daughter Holly’s November wedding on the island - said rebuilding the aptly named Great House is at the forefront of his mind.

‘It’s very much the Dunkirk Spirit here,’ he said. ‘We want to rebuild the house as soon as we can. We have a wonderful staff here and we want them to stay in work.

‘We’ll all stay here for the time being. There’s a lot of damage and we won’t be able to stick it back together again right away. It was a beautiful house.

‘We will rebuild the house as soon as we can. There’s a lot of damage but we’ll create something even more special out of the ruins.’

'I am an actress, I don’t want to freeze the expression of my face.'

'We’re in this awful youth-driven thing now where everybody needs to look 30 at 60,' said the Oscar-winning actress. 'I’m not fiddling about with myself.'

Meanwhile, Rachel Weisz says that she doesn’t even like the result of botox treatments, favoured by fellow starlets Nicole Kidman and Demi Moore.

'People who look too perfect don’t look sexy or particularly beautiful,’ she said.

In fact the pair are so smitten, rumours suggest they have become 'inseparable' in recent weeks.

Louis – who is 10 years Kate’s junior - has modeled for Burberry, Paco Rabanne and Paul Smith.

But despite a glittering career, friends say he’s very down to earth. 'He's a good looking guy and gets lots of attention when he's out and about - but he's not your typical model. Not at all big-headed,’ one told the newspaper.

And it seems Kate and Louis have quietly been going on dates to get to know each other.

'They've been on lots of dates and get on really well. It's early days for them but they enjoy each other's company,' one insider revealed.

'Louis has a good sense of humour and really is a lovely guy. He loves to surf and he's really quite engaging and very down-to-earth.'

But with Kate based in New York, and currently shooting in Rome, and Louis based in London, the pair have been juggling their diaries in an effort to meet up.

And it seems they are keen to keep their relationship relatively quiet for now.

'They have been desperate to keep the relationship under wraps so they've been a bit low-key so far,' the source added.

Following the shock announcement that she and husband Sam Mendes have split, Kate Winslet is reportedly being comforted by her two-time co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

The pair starred side-by-side in both Titanic and Revolutionary Road, the latter of which Mendes directed, and the stress of working on reportedly led to his and Kate's eventual marriage breakdown.

While the estranged couple may have officially announced their split on Monday, it is rumoured that they ended their relationship months ago, and that DiCaprio has offered Winslet a shoulder to cry on as she faced her second divorce.

A source revealed to The Sun: 'Leo and Kate have been like brother and sister since they starred in Titanic together. And since Kate's marriage started to go south, around the time they were filming Revolutionary Road, they've got closer again.

Reports suggest that the tensions first arose between the pair during the filming of their award-winning movie Revolutionary Road

After announcing their separation yesterday, friends of Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes claim that their marriage first hit the rocks during the filming of Revolutionary Road.

Mendes directed his wife in the award-winning movie opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, which was about a couple going through a stormy break-up.

During the promotion of the film last year, Kate admitted that she'd found it awkward being directed by her husband - particularly during sex scenes with her former Titanic co-star.

'I just kept saying, "This is too weird,"' she said in an interview last year. 'Leo told me to get over it, but I said, "You're my best friend and he's my husband. This is definitely a bit weird."'

Kate and Sam, who were married back in 2003, reportedly split earlier during the year, but released a joint statement yesterday, confirming the separation.

'The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement,' it read. 'Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.'

Rumours began circulating that all was not well within the marriage, when Kate attended both the BAFTAs and the Oscars without her director husband.

A friend of the actress has said that she now plans to divorce Mendes, saying: 'That's it, it is final.'

'Kate is devastated. She thought their marriage was forever, and now she has two children from two marriages and both are not living with their fathers.'

Kate is currently in Mexico with her two children, Joe, six and Mia, nine, who was from her previous marriage to assistant director Jim Threapleton.

Sam Mendes is currently in the US, where he is working on a couple of Shakespeare theatre productions.

'He became bored working on his latest theatrical project and he took that boredom home with him,' says a source close to the director.

'That led to the spark being taken out of their marriage.'

Giggling, Kate said that she kept it there so that visitors 'can sneakily have a little [hold] and put it back down again.' The Titanic actress went on to explain why she relishes the chance to dress up for awards season: 'Especially as a mum,' she said, 'you get so few moments to feel good in your own skin and to wear a lovely gown.'

At 33, Winslet says she finally loves her body and her life

Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet – known for her beauty as much as for her talent – has revealed she has reached the happiest stage of her life so far.

‘I’m happier about myself than I’ve ever been,’ Winslet told Hello! Magazine.

Winslet admitted she is finally content with her body and says she is having the time of her life.

The Reader star cites turning 30 as the landmark when she began to feel comfortable in her own skin.

Despite having given birth to two children she is not self-conscious about her figure.

Winslet credits her age to her positive outlook. ‘I think turning 30, you’re allowed to be less obsessed with how you look. I really like being 33.’

The mother-of-two battled with her weight during her teens, but now boasts a figure most women would envy. Refreshingly, however, Winslet has a nonchalant attitude to exercise, unlike most of her fellow A-listers.

‘I haven’t done any exercise since October. I haven’t done a thing,’ she announced. ‘Maybe it’s just being busy and age’, the 33-year-old added.

However it is not only her svelte figure that has left the actress beaming. Winslet admitted her raft of successes in 2009 (two Golden Globes for her performances in The Reader and Revolutionary Road as well as an Academy Award for Best Actress) has given her career confidence a hefty boost, allowing her to believe she’s in it for ‘the long haul’.

Kate Winslet is in high demand at the moment, she's won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, an Oscar and now Hugh Hefner wants her to strip off for Playboy.

The magazine mogul said: 'There's no question we would be interested in Kate. It's a competitive market, more than it used to be, so she would be a most welcome addition in our pages.'

But it seems Hef is out of luck; in a recent interview with Time magazine, Kate vowed that she never wants to get naked on camera again.

She said: 'I think I won’t do it again: a) I can’t keep getting away with it, and b) I don’t want to become ‘that actress who always gets her kit off.''

Meanwhile, The Reader actress revealed that her eight-year-old daughter, Mia, wasn't impressed with her custom-made Yves Saint Laurent Oscar gown because of its dull hue.

'I said, "Hi, Mia, did you jump up and down?" [Mia] says: "Yes, I did, Mum, I did. I need to talk to you about the dress - it was grey." She was absolutely mortified I wore a grey dress.'

Speaking on The Oprah Winfrey Show, she explained her decision behind the dress, saying: 'I think in this time in the economy, it's just not nice to have people make lots of dresses and you just wear one out of a possible five.'

'So Yves St Laurent very kindly said, "We'd like to make something for you," and that was what we did.'

The hottest hair trends straight from the Oscars

This season's hottest Hollywood hair trend – the updo – continues to rule the red carpet, and emerged as a dominant look at last night's Oscars.

Kate Winslet matched her immaculate, old-school Hollywood style to her locks, with a Forties tucked under flawless 'do. Not a hair was out of place, ensuring the Brit actress looked picture-perfect for her close-up. 

For Freida Pinto, the updo was given a youthful edge by Aveda stylist Jeffrey Paul, who divided the actress's hair into three parts and twisted it back into a coiled flower shape. Fellow style star Natalie Portman chose a similar style of architectural twists, slightly mussed round the edges. 

Half-up, half-down was the look of choice for Angelina Jolie, who sported a coiffed style, pinned at the back, leaving her remaining locks tumbling down for goddess glamour. 

Although few stars left their locks completely loose, those that did, did so with impact. Away from the updos, Jennifer Aniston looked positively radiant, with her highlighted blonde locks loose, with the softest of waves, and a subtle plait framing her face. A breath of fresh air amongst the preened-to-perfection styles, the laidback 'do added a youthful touch to her high-octane frock.

And though Sarah Jessica Parker may be known for her signature curls, they received a glossy overhaul for the Oscars, looking defined and full, for a more polished look.

Kate Winslet has revealed the stress and panic involved in finding the perfect Oscar dress.

The star, who went home with the gong for Best Actress last night, was stunning on the red carpet in an ultra-glam Yves Saint Laurent silk tulle asymmetric gown, but she got through three stylists to get the look.

In the run-up to the ceremony, the 33-year-old let two of her fashion advisors go, and so in the end relied on the help of just one trusted stylist.

Kate said the most important factor for her was comfort.

'It has been difficult to find the right balance of having a dress that's fun to wear and that I also feel good wearing. Being on the red carpet is a privilege and you have a great time but I want to get it right,' she said.

The star of The Reader did, however, decide to keep her existing hair and make-up team, because she has always been happy with her tresses.

Kate Winslet hasn’t been averse to stripping down to her birthday suit in the past, but the actress has now gone all coy on us, and says: no more nudity!

Kate bared all for her Oscar-nominated turn in The Reader, but reckons that could be the last time you see her in all her naked glory.

‘I think I won't do it again: A: I can't keep getting away with it, and B: I don't want to become "that actress who always gets her kit off,"’ Winslet, 33, told Time magazine for its latest issue.

Next up for the Best Actress Oscar nominee? (Apart from keeping her kit on).

‘I know how long it's going to be before I feel, okay, I really have to know what I'm doing next, or I'll freak out!” she says. 'I know myself, and it's only a matter of time.’

Kate Winslet promises to love her beautiful backside

Does my bum look big in this? It’s the age-old worry every woman faces every time they step out of the front door – but Kate Winslet, for one, has vowed to ditch her derriere doubts, and love her backside, instead.

The actress – who famously gets nude in new movie The Reader, for which she just picked up the coveted Best Actress Bafta Award – says she’s forming a new love affair with her voluptuous curves – for the sake of her daughter.

In a recent American TV show interview, she revealed: ‘I don’t know a single woman who doesn’t stand up and check the tush before she walks out the door.

‘I’ve decided I am going to start loving my backside because I don’t know anyone who does that. And for my daughter, I want to be able to say to her, “I love this.”’

Kate, who once admitted she thought her bottom resembled ‘purple sprouting broccoli’, said it’s high-time women started appreciating their bodies – warts and all.

‘(Young women) look at all of us, myself included, on these magazine covers and they think, “My God, how does she get skin like that?” And I can tell you, I have so many blemishes under this make-up that have been so fabulously covered, I promise you.

‘I did realise a few years ago that no one actually talks about this retouching thing. It’s like a secret or something. I’m damned if it’s going to be a secret any more. I really want these young women to know we don’t look like this.’

As a teenager, Kate picked up the cruel nickname Blubber, and struggled with her weight.

She began existing on apples, raw carrots and black coffee. ‘When I was 15, I was nearly 14 stone. I was uncomfortable and self-conscious,’ she admitted. ‘I knew I wanted to be an actress and was big.

‘Over a year I sensibly got down to ten stone. Then I became addicted to losing weight and went too far. I was never anorexic or bulimic. I went through a three-month experimental laxative time, which was absolutely awful. Luckily, I was strong enough to be able to say to myself, “What are you doing? You are just really hungry.”

‘The whole weight thing drives me crazy. This stuff is so important to me because I have been there and know what a vicious cycle it is.’

Since moving to New York in 2004, Kate has had another body overhaul, steadily losing the four stone she put on through pregnancy, with the help of a nutritionist.

‘You want to teach young people that beauty comes from within and that food is great and a huge part of life,’ she said.

Meanwhile, the actress also revealed that motherhood will never take a backseat to her acting career.

‘It’s a massive juggle,’ she said. ‘I’m on a plane tonight. I’ll be home at 5am. And I will be on that school ground tomorrow morning. It’s crucial for our kids that we are the key people in their life.’

Kate Winslet may have 'blown her chances' of an Oscar because she forgot Angelina Jolie's name in her Golden Globes acceptance speech, according to veteran film critic Barry Norman.

Norman, the BBC's film critic for 26 years, said the faux pas – where Winslet embarrassingly referred to Jolie as 'the other one' - will not go down well with Academy Award voters in Hollywood.

Discussing the Best Actress Oscar on ITV1's Loose Women, Barry said: 'I really, really hope that Kate Winslet gets it. I think they are all good performances but I think hers is the best.

'But I have a nasty feeling that she has blown her chances with that silly, silly speech at the Golden Globes.'

Although she was honoured at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the '5,000 Oscar voters, most of whom are American', might not be so kind, Norman warned.

'When push comes to shove, Americans will vote for the local boy or local girl rather than the foreigner in normal circumstances.

'It doesn't always work out like that, but I think in this case –"Who's the other one? Who's the other one?" - she forgot Angelina Jolie's name, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the king and queen of Hollywood.

'I have a feeling, and I hope I'm wrong, that enough voters will have been offended by this - unintentional though it was, because I know Kate well and she's a lovely girl, she really is a nice person and the insult was unintentional - but it could work against her and she might lose out for that reason.'

Winslet made the slip-up when she beat Angelina, Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Kristin Scott Thomas to the Best Actress Golden Globe gong for her role in Revolutionary Road.

'I'm so sorry Anne, Meryl, Kristin - oh god, who's the other one... Angelina!' she gasped.

Norman said of her speech: 'I think she was tired and emotional. She had already won the Best Supporting Actress award and, I suspect, quite rightly and understandably, she went off with [husband] Sam Mendes, had a couple of glasses of champagne and then to her astonishment was named Best Actress as well. It just took her aback and she did this rather daft speech.' Kate Winslet is, however, favourite to win the Best Actress Oscar, with Meryl Streep snapping at her heels for her role as a nun in Doubt.
