Hailey Bieber is the pioneer of that strain of "glazed doughnut" skin that keeps us raiding the shelves of Sephora, but, as she stated on a recent podcast appearance, she doesn't swear by the most popular treatments.

On Friday, October 24th, the Rhode beauty mogul sat down with Owen Thiele to film for his podcast, In Your Dreams, and delved deep into her beauty regimen.

“Skincare-wise, just tell me, pretend like we’re not doing a podcast, what do you do? Be real,” asked Thiele. Bieber admitted that she was "really diligent" with her skincare and that she uses a mixture of her own brand, as well as cult favourites like Cosrx, Naturium, Avène, BeautyStat and EltaMD.

Most interestingly, however, was the revelation that she does use certain injectables—but not Botox. Instead, she opts for PRP, platelet-rich plasma, and PRF, platelet-rich fibrin, injections—both involve using the client's own blood, which is then injected back into the face to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Speaking about PRP, she explains: "It’s when they take your blood from your arm and they spin it. I love doing PRP with microneedling. I’ve talked about that a lot."

On PRF, she adds, "They take your blood, but it’s called EZ Gel, and basically they heat it and then they cool it, and it kind of makes your blood a gel consistency. And then you inject it. So I’ve done that, which I loved. I’ve injected my smile lines. I’ve injected it under my eyes."

In regard to Bieber's other treatments, she says that she gets "light little lasers" a few times a year, but that Botox is a no-no. "I don’t have any Botox except for in my jaw for TMJ, but I have no Botox in my face," she said.

TMJ is short for the temporomandibular joint, and the term is usually used to describe TMJ disorders—a set of painful conditions that affect the joint and surrounding chewing muscles. They can be caused by injuries, teeth grinding, arthritis and stress, and can lead to pain, clicking, popping and difficulty with jaw movement.

"I made a commitment to myself that I wasn’t going to do any Botox until I was in my 30s. When I get there, I’ll see if I even want to do it," the model continued, citing her mother, Kennya Baldwin, as her skincare inspiration. "My mom does nothing to her skin, and she looks insane."

Earlier this year, the model got candid about her experience with perioral dermatitis. Dr Derrick Phillips, consultant dermatologist, told Marie Claire UK that this inflammatory condition "typically manifests as irritated eczema-like patches below the nostrils and on the chin, often studded with small red spots and pus-filled spots. It can also affect the skin around the eyes, with small red spots and red scaly patches."

Bieber took to her Instagram Story in July to share a makeup-free selfie, showing the small bumps and texture. "[It] always flares when I’m travelling a lot, sleep deprived, hormones, the wrong SPF, new products, stress [sic]," she wrote.

Then she shared what she does to treat a flare-up, and it's "so minimal". First, she rinses with water and uses a prescription azelaic acid to smooth. Next, she uses an antimicrobial agent, hypochlorous acid, as well as the antibiotic clindamycin, and her very own Rhode Glazing Milk, which is packed with ceramides.

My verdict

When I first came across this technique, I'll admit I was hesitant. The idea of using different-coloured powders on different parts of my face felt somewhat unnecessary, especially since I've been loyal to the same translucent formula for years.

And while I've never skipped powder, I now realise I wasn't using it in the best way. I often ended up with ghostly flashbacks in photos or dry, cakey under-eye areas. I put it down to my skin type rather than taking a look at my technique.

It seemed retrospectively obvious, but my common powder woes were mainly due to using the same powder all over the face, expecting it to oil-control some areas and brighten others. And really, the more delicate areas like my under-eyes didn't need it.

Switching to targeted powder placement has honestly changed everything. My make-up wore better throughout the day, looked more dimensional, and felt more like my skin. For the final step, getting an exact skin tone match is key. It's not about bronzing or contouring, but enhancing your natural tone and softly setting the base so everything blends seamlessly.

Hailey Bieber has opened up about the birth complications she experienced, nine months after welcoming her and Justin's first child, Jack Blues. The couple shared the news of his arrival in August 2024, and regularly share sweet photos of him on social media.

In a candid new interview for Vogue, the new mum explained that there were several challenges she faced both during her pregnancy and postpartum. As well as sharing how she coped in the months after baby Jack's birth, the Rhode Beauty founder also decided to discuss her difficult birth journey for the first time.

On her pregnancy, she explained that there was 'a lot for me mentally', and that it was 'difficult' for her to wrap 'her head around' the fact that her life was about to change. She told the publication: "There are certain warnings: Your life is never going to be the same again. It changes in good ways, but it’s not going to be the same. You’re never going to be just an individual without a child ever again. And you’re not going to just be you and your partner, just the two of you.”

Hailey also went on to say that the birth was the 'hardest thing [she's] ever done', explaining that in preparation she spent time doing a mix of holistic and fitness practices, including yoga, pelvic-floor therapy, acupuncture and weight training, which left her feeling 'stronger physically than I ever had before'.

As part of the interview, she also went into detail about her challenging birth journey. She told Vogue that she was induced at 39 weeks, and an 18-hour labour - without epidural - followed. She said: "That shit was so crazy. That was not fun. They broke my water. I went into labour and I laboured for a few hours. No epidural, nothing."

However, it wasn't plain sailing after baby Jack Blues' birth. Once he was born, Hailey experienced postpartum hemorrhage and continued to bleed. Although she says she trusts her doctor 'with [her] life', Hailey also said: "I was bleeding really badly, and people die, and the thought crosses your mind."

She continued: "Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life, and learning a new version of myself is very difficult. And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, "They’re getting divorced!" and "They’re this!" and "They’re not happy!" It is such a mind-fuck. I cannot even begin to explain it. It’s a crazy life to live."

"Luminous, dimensional finishes are growing in popularity," continues Huber-Millet. "Think aurora and chrome nail techniques that create a sense of movement as they catch the light. Justin Bieber has rarely spoken publicly about his baby boy Jack Blues Bieber since he was born, but over the weekend, the popstar shared some sweet insights into their father-son relationship.

On Sunday, Justin participated in a charity ice hockey game, Skate for LA Strong. The event was hosted by the National Hockey League and the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena, and aimed to raise money to help the city's recovery following the devastating January wildfires.

Other stars who showed their support for the event included Snoop Dogg, Steve Carell, Will Ferrell and Danny DeVito, according to Bleacher Report and Hello!.

During the event, the LA Kings media team asked when Justin planned to introduce Jack to hockey, and he replied: "As soon as possible." He then added: "It's never too early."

It's so sweet that Justin can't wait to introduce his little one to one of his passions!

Justin's outing and comments come amid rumours about his health, which a rep for the star promptly shut down in a statement to TMZ.

They had revealed that they were expecting their first child together in May, when they posted a video and photos from their vow renewal ceremony, in which Hailey's baby bump was clearly visible.

I don’t know if it’s all the return-to-office mandates, sweatpant fatigue, or Babygirl fever, but the workwear wardrobe is making a triumphant return.

The supermodel just took to Instagram with a brand new piece of bling, and it just so happens to be a sweet tribute to her son with husband Justin Bieber, Jack Blues Bieber.

Hailey posted a gallery of photos to celebrate October, and took the opportunity to show off the very, very sparkly necklace she's recently acquired, which reads "jbb" for her son's initials. The necklace matches another one she's been wearing for a while, which is just a capital B — and an equally imposing piece of bling.

She captioned her pic: "It’s October and I’m someone’s Mom" with a jack-o'-lantern emoji.

Last week, Hailey and Justin Bieber announced that they are expecting their first child together. The couple, who have been married since 2018, shared their baby news on social media with a series of photographs where they can be seen renewing their wedding vows, with the Rhode beauty founder gently cradling her bump.

Alongside the images and short video, Hailey simply tagged her husband and several celebrities were quick to send their congratulations, with everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow to Kaia Gerber posting their well wishes.

The couple has previously spoken about their desire to start a family, but insisted they would only do so 'when the time was right' with Justin telling Ellen DeGeneres in 2020: "I think she just is not ready yet, and I think that's OK. Earlier this year, Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez found themselves at the forefront of intense online speculation about a rumoured feud. 

Following what has since been dubbed 'eyebrow gate', fandoms on both sides saturated Instagram and TikTok with their takes on the nature of their relationship, and things took such a turn that Selena and Hailey both shared statements urging their followers to be kinder.

During an appearance on Bloomberg's The Circuit, Hailey largely discussed her skincare line Rhode but also explained how she dealt with the onslaught of negativity, and why she wants people to drop the 'dangerous' narratives.

She told interviewer Emily Chang: "I don't think that this is about me, Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez. This is not about this pitting between two women and division between two women.

"It's about the vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up and twisted and perpetuated narratives. That can be really dangerous."

Hailey also added that the entire narrative 'really hurt [her] feelings' and that she only hopes that people can come together. 

She added: "I think that it's an opportunity to really stand for bringing people together and not being ok with the kind of division that it caused because I'm not ok with the kind of division that it caused."

"I don't like this whole idea of team this person and team this person – I'm just not about that. I want to be able to bring people together.

"I don't want silly made-up drama to affect what I’m focusing and working on. There's narratives that exist for me that really hurt my feelings and make me really upset."

Hailey ended with: "It's so disappointing that people still behave this way over a man. It's the world we live in, unfortunately."

Now, the Rhode Beauty founder has publicly denounced those who leave 'nasty comments' on social media following criticism left on Selena's photos. She also asked her fans to 'be nice'. 

While she didn't name Selena specifically, Hailey's Instagram story came after numerous comments on one of Selena's Instagram pictures regarding their alleged 'drama'. 

Hailey wrote: "If you’re leaving mean or rude comments on anyone’s post just know that I don’t want that, nor do I ever or will I ever support or condone hateful, mean, or nasty comments. Doing that is not supporting me."

She added: "If you are participating in that you are part of a culture that I want no part of. Please be nice or don’t say anything."

Hailey Bieber has been incredibly busy over the last few months launching her skincare brand Rhode in the UK.

But professional life aside, the 26 year old has also been dealing with an onslaught of online abuse in recent months following what has since been dubbed 'eyebrow gate'. Hailey was accused of bullying Selena Gomez when she shared an Instagram story comparing eyebrows with Kylie Jenner, and the furore was so great that Selena publicly addressed the situation and called for it all to stop. 

However, netizens have shifted their attention from her 'feud' with Selena Gomez to her friendship with long-time pal, Kendall Jenner. 

The pair have been BBFs for over ten years, often attending glitzy events together, sharing cute selfies on social media and even appearing in each other's personal projects.  

But when fans noticed that Hailey and Kendall were both enjoying holidays in Europe and they hadn't shared any photos together, it fuelled rumours that they had fallen out. 

Just last week, The Sun US claimed that Hailey and Kendall had recently attended the Monaco Grand Prix but were not spotted together. According to the publication, Hailey and her husband Justin were spending time with Kendall's ex, Devin Booker, and she was reportedly seen with her new rumoured partner, Bad Bunny. 

It fanned 'feud' rumour flames online, with Reddit users instantly dissecting their friendship, with some claiming it was down to the Biebers hanging out with Kendall's ex, and others arguing that they've drifted apart since the Selena Gomez situation. 

However, in true millennial fashion, Hailey and Kendall addressed the speculation with a very telling photo. 

Sharing a snap of themselves sunbathing, Hailey uploaded a photo of the pair smiling and simply wrote: "Feuding."

While it has since expired on Instagram, it was widely shared between fans on Twitter who are dispelling the fall out rumours. 

Is it perfectly possible for two friends to be in the same place and not share photos of it online for the world to see? Absolutely.

So, there you have it.

For the last few weeks, social media has been awash with videos, theories and speculation that there are some unresolved issues between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber. 

It all started when Hailey shared an Instagram story with Kylie Jenner, with the pair comparing eyebrows - and the fandoms interpreted this as a 'shady' dig at Selena. What ensued was an onslaught of social media content dissecting Selena and Hailey's every move and claiming there is an ongoing issue between them. Much of this was aimed at Hailey, claiming that she was a 'bully', and Kylie and her sister, Kendall, were also dragged into it - and if you need a brief explainer, you can read about it here. 

Selena's absence from the Oscars this year fanned the flames, and netizens appeared to be taking sides with Hailey losing millions of Instagram followers, while Selena became the first woman to have over 400 million followers on the platform.

However, the Only Murders in the Building star has now addressed the situation publicly for the first time.

Writing a message to her fans on Instagram stories, Selena confirmed that Hailey had reached out to her and shared that she had been concerned about the death threats the Rhode skincare founder was receiving. 

She wrote: "Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity.

"This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying.

"I've always advocated for kindness and really want all of this to stop."

Up until now, neither Hailey nor Selena have addressed the online furore. At one of Justin Bieber's recent surprise gigs, the crowd was heard chanting 'f*ck Hailey', and shortly afterwards the singer uploaded a photo of his wife, writing: "Luv u baby."

At the time of writing, Hailey has not commented on Selena's post.

Justin Bieber didn't accompany his wife Hailey Bieber to the actual Oscars on Sunday, but he did join her at the Vanity Fair after-party.

"He came in a back entrance and met Hailey inside," an insider told Page Six.

People who saw Justin during the event thought he might have been having an off day, because he didn't look on top form, apparently.

"Justin did not look well. He was hunched over and wearing a blanket," said one source, while another added that he looked "tormented."

It will have been late by then, so perhaps Justin was just quite tired — we know we would have been if we were in his shoes.

Meanwhile, Vanity Fair described the singer's arrival as follows: "Justin Bieber, wearing what appeared to be a quilted blanket on his back, arrived with his wife, Hailey Bieber, and immediately went up to Clippers star Russell Westbrook, who was clad in head-to-toe Thom Browne." (The Clippers are a Los Angeles basketball team, for the uninitiated among us.)

The blanket is clicking with the "he was tired" theory, and honestly, we can only admire a man who knows how to stay cosy even on a night out.

That said, of course the rumour mill is now going into overdrive - speculating whether the drama supposedly involving Justin's wife Hailey and his ex Selena Gomez might have understandably stressed him out a bit.

In case you missed that whole chapter, here's the deal: there has been a lot of rumoured drama between Hailey, Selena and the Jenner sisters Kendall and Kylie recently.

Among other things, fans thought Hailey, Kendall and Justine Skye were "shading" Selena, because soon after the latter was publicly body-shamed, they lip-synced over a TikTok sound that said: "I'm not saying she deserved it, but I'm saying God's timing is always right." Hailey subsequently deleted that video.

There were two other incidents as well: one involving Hailey and Kylie, and one involving Hailey and Taylor Swift (whom Selena defended). We won't go into detail about these ones, but you can read all about it over here.

At one point during this saga, Selena even briefly deactivated her TikTok, saying it was all a bit too much for her.

By the way, Selena herself skipped the Vanity Fair bash, but it wasn't to avoid the Biebers at all — it just clashed with her work schedule.

The 25-year-old model attended the star studded event, which followed the theme 'In America: an Anthology of Fashion' at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 2, wearing a custom halterneck Saint Laurent satin maxi dress with a feathered duster coat cover-up, black tights and black strappy heels.

The style icon has insisted she took inspiration from supermodel Jerry Hall for the look.

Her attendance comes after she openly spoke out about undergoing a heart procedure after she had a mini-stroke in March.

Hailey has insisted she is grateful to be healthy, but she did find it hard to talk about.

Speaking to Vogue, she said: "I mean obviously it was a little bit hard to talk about ... I felt like if it could help anybody, bring light to the situation ... I just wanted to share my story.

"I'm just happy that I'm okay and I'm healthy."

Last month, the model told her social media followers that she had been taken to hospital following ‘stroke like symptoms’ as a result of a blood clot on her brain.

In a honest recount, which was shared on Hailey's Instagram, she recalled having breakfast with husband Justin when she suddenly felt a ‘really weird sensation’ moving down her arm towards her fingertips. When Justin asked if she was okay she realised she couldn’t speak.

She explained: ‘The right side of my face started drooping. I couldn’t get a sentence out. Everything was coming out, not even jumbled, just like couldn’t get any of the words out. So obviously immediately I thought I was having a stroke, like a full-blown stroke.

When the doctor and medics arrived to help, she remembers having "so many things running through [her] head", saying she thought: "I’m having a stroke. I’m really scared. I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know why this is happening. Am I going to have permanent issues from this?"

However, the facial drooping quickly subsided and she slowly started regaining her speech. By the time she arrived at the hospital, Hailey says she was almost "back to normal" and doctors diagnosed her with a small blood clot in her brain known as a TIA (transient ischemic attack).

She continued: "[It’s] a temporary blockage of blood flow to the brain, often called a ‘ministroke.’ It usually foreshadows a stroke, which is caused by a clot or blockage in the brain."

After extensive testing, doctors found that she had a PFO (potent foramen ovale) which is "a hole in the heart that didn’t close the way it should have at birth."

While medical professionals were unable to give one conclusive reason for why it happened following her discharge, she says they attributed it to three factors.

"I had just recently started birth control pills, which I should’ve never been on because I am someone who suffers from migraines anyway, and I just did not talk to my doctor about this, so, ladies, if you suffer from bad migraines, and you plan on being on birth control pills, make sure you tell your doctor, because having a stroke is a potential side effect from birth control pills", Hailey said.

"The second thing is I had recently had COVID…and then the third thing is I had recently gone on a very long flight. I had flown to Paris and back in a very short time [without moving around]."

After more in-depth testing at UCLA, they found that she had a "grade 5 PFO, which is the highest grade that you can have."

They believe that a blood clot traveled into her heart and escaped through the hole into her brain. She then had a PFO closure procedure, which is explained as "this small little button that buttons closed the flap in the heart and eventually, the heart tissue grows back over the closure device."
