We’ve reached that point in the year when a single day can deliver all four seasons—naturally, wreaking havoc on even the most organised wardrobe. Enter Daisy Edgar-Jones, who has just provided a masterclass in what to wear during London Fashion Week. Her formula? The ultimate classic Brit-girl uniform: trench coat, jeans and black ankle boots. Effortless.

It’s a timely reminder that the simplest outfits are often the chicest—particularly when anchored by one enduring staple. In this case, a trusty trench. While there’s been no official confirmation on the provenance of Daisy’s exact style, I’d be willing to wager it’s Burberry—the British heritage house synonymous with impeccable outerwear, and whose show the star attended later that same day.

Styled with light-wash, straight-leg jeans (a welcome shift as temperatures begin to climb), sleek black ankle boots and oval sunglasses, it’s straightforward dressing that works for a whole host of occasions.
Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones' new film, Twisters, could have had a significantly different ending — and we have mixed feelings about it all.

(Before you keep reading, be aware that this article contains spoilers.)

What happened is that some fans spotted Glen and Daisy kissing at the airport while filming the movie, and though Twisters *does* end in an airport, the final version of the film doesn't include the kiss between their characters Kate and Tyler. This has all rather upset people on social media.

Thankfully, one helpful reporter at Entertainment Weekly made sure to ask why the kiss was cut, so we now have the answers we (and Glen, evidently) so desperately needed.

The Anyone But You actor joked to the outlet: "I'm taking a little offence that they didn't want to use it. Maybe it's just my abilities, I don't know."

But director Lee Isaac Chung had good reasons to cut the kiss scene, and none of them were that Glen is a bad kisser (we never doubted ya, Glen!).

"I feel like audiences are in a different place now in terms of wanting a kiss or not wanting a kiss," Lee explained. "I actually tried the kiss, and it was very polarising — and it's not because of their performance of the kiss."

The director further shared that he actually likes the film a lot better without the kiss. "This [no-kiss shot] was the other option that I had filmed on the day, and I got to say, I like it better," he said. "I think it's a better ending. And I think that people who want a kiss within it, they can probably assume that these guys will kiss someday. And maybe we can give them privacy for that. In a way, this ending is a means to make sure that we really wrap things up with it in a celebratory, good way."

Daisy agreed with Lee, telling Entertainment Weekly: "It felt nice and refreshing to not have to end up on that beat because what you're ending it on is two individuals who are so equal in their love and interest and intelligence and understanding of weather."

Twisters — which is out in cinemas now — follows the following plot, according to iMDb: "A retired tornado-chaser and meteorologist is persuaded to return to Oklahoma to work with a new team and new technologies."

It also stars Anthony Ramos and Kiernan Shipka, among many others.

When Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones teased some 'big news' in recently, the internet lost its collective mind. The A-list besties may be fully fledged Hollywood darlings now, with Oscar nods and starring roles in big budget blockbusters (ahem, ready for you Gladiator II), but back in 2020 they were the two up-and-coming actors who stole our hearts as Connell and Marianne in Normal People. The BBC adaptation of Sally Rooney's bestselling novel became a sensation in its own right, with Connell's chain garnering over 133k thirsty fans on Instagram, so when Paul and Daisy hinted at a sequel a couple of months ago it was big news for fans.

Back in May, Daisy shared a photo of herself with Paul and wrote: "We've got some news to share!! Watch this space."

It quickly sparked rumours that the two would be reuniting for a Normal People sequel, with hopes that we'll get to see what Connell and Marianne have been up to since we left them four years ago. With increased interest in a second instalment, Daisy spoke to The Times' Culture magazine about the possibility of reprising the role - and it sounds pretty promising, to be honest.

In an interview with the publication, she said: "It’s still Normal People I am known for. It meant a lot to people and a lot to me too. I feel 100% spoilt by Normal People. If you could bottle up my ideal role, world, film-maker, writer, it had everything. In any career you get some jobs that are truly magical and, yes, then you’re seeking that feeling again. It’s hard to top that."

And that's not all. During an appearance on BBC News to promote her new film Twisters - starring Glenn Powell and Kiernan Shipka - Daisy once again spoke about her love for the show, and confirmed that if a Normal People sequel ever was to materialise that she'd be fully up for it. She said: "I love those characters. It would be wonderful to explore them again."

So, it's not a no - right?

Fingers crossed.

It's hard to remember a time when Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones weren't Hollywood heavyweights with Oscar nominations and A-list besties, but the actors only achieved household-name status four years ago. The pair were catapulted into the spotlight in 2020 after starring in the BBC Three and Hulu adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel Normal People, and since its release Paul has gone on to win a BAFTA, receive Academy Award recognition for Aftersun and star in the critically-acclaimed All Of Us Strangers, while Daisy has also been nominated for a number of prestigious awards - including two Golden Globes - and played the lead role in Where The Crawdads Sing.

Sally Rooney's Normal People, which tells the story of Marianne and Connell as they navigate their undulating relationship from lovers to friends to lovers again, became a best-seller and the TV show quickly won a legion of fans - so many, in fact, that Connell's chain got its own Instagram account. Since its release four years ago, viewers have been desperate to know if Paul and Daisy will reunite for a second instalment - and they just gave the biggest hint yet that it *might* happen.

Daisy shared a photo on her Instagram stories, with the pair smiling at the camera and showing peace signs. It was overlaid with a message which simply read: "We've got some news to share!! Watch this space."

Naturally, it has sent fans of both the show and the book into a social media frenzy with people taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share their excitement at the prospect of Normal People season two. One person wrote: "WHAT?!? Normal People season 2? Daisy and Paul you’re playing with my emotions and I’m not here for it!!!"

Others were convinced that the peace sign was actually a nod to a second season, with one person adding: "If the peace signs they are making are for season 2 of Normal People I'm gonna scream."

It is worth noting that their 'news' could, of course, have absolutely nothing to do with a second season of Normal People, and maybe we all just need to calm down a little.

But if it is - well, we're more than ready for it.
