Leighton Meester is one of the most talked-about women in the world. And from her season two role in Nobody Wants This to her sweet relationship with Adam Brody, the Gossip Girl star never fails to make headlines.

This week, Meester was particularly front and centre, appearing on Penn Badgley's popular 'Podcrushed' podcast. And during the conversation, the 39-year-old broke her silence on her viral red carpet exchange with Ariana Grande.

The two A-list women went viral for a shared moment at the Critics Choice Awards in January, where their red carpet exchange became an internet moment.

The footage shows Grande telling Meester "I love you so much! Wow, wow, wow," as she walks past her, before Meester can be seen repeating the statement to the woman next to her, and laughing.

Lip readers and online detectives weighed in on the moment at the time, with some social media users criticising Meester for her "mocking" response.

And while the Gossip Girl star has previously remained quiet about the situation, she opened up about the viral exchange this week, explaining that she had misheard, mistaking Grande's comment for a joke about her crying.

Meester explained that she had felt very "raw and emotional" at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, the year before, crying during the ceremony.

"But like a few weeks ago, I was going to the same award show, and I was like: ‘Oh my god, remember when I cried last time?’" she recalled. "Tears were coming out. And then I walked by Ariana Grande on the red carpet, and if you just walk by her, you’re on the internet. And she said something I couldn’t hear.

"I was with my publicist, Kate," she continued. "So [Grande] was walking by, and she said something to me. And then Kate turns around, and we both heard: ‘Hi, I love you, wah, wah, wah!’ I couldn’t hear - she was walking away."

Believing Grande's comment to be a joke about her crying, Meester continued: "I was like: ‘Oh, she’s kind of a comedy queen, she’s just being funny.’ I thought that was something she would do, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, that’s cute and funny.’

"Then it turned out she didn’t say that," she revealed. "And then I saw her the next week, and I was like: ‘I have to tell you, like, I thought…’ and she’s like, ‘You thought I said wah, wah, wah? That’s so funny!’ And I was like, ‘No, it’s an old person not being able to hear!’ That’s so embarrassing."

Well, this is hilarious.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande continue to make headlines, with both A-listers nominated this award season for their starring roles in 2025 release, Wicked: For Good.

It is their close relationship however that gets the world talking the most, with the internet fascinated by their deep bond during the press tours for both Wicked films. And from that "holding space" interview moment to the footage of Erivo protecting Grande from an incident at the Singapore Premiere, their friendship has garnered a great deal of interest.

This is something that Erivo spoke out about this week, addressing her relationship with Grande amid "strange fascination" from the public.

"At first, I think people didn't understand how it was possible for two women to be friends - close - and not lovers,” Erivo explained in a recent interview with Stylist Magazine.

"I've never really spoken about this but there was this strange fascination with the two of us, where people either thought we were putting it on for the cameras or that we were lovers," she continued. "And I think it’s because there’s such little conversation around platonic female friendship that is deep and real."

"We're not used to seeing it on camera in front of people," she continued. "A relationship where people are connected sometimes just makes people uncomfortable; we aren't taught that those relationships are good for us."

Ariana Grande has also spoken out about their friendship in the past, calling her experience working with Erivo "the greatest privilege of [her] professional life."

"To be able to act with this one and to share a space and to be a scene partner with you was the greatest privilege of my professional life," Grande explained in the interview alongside Erivo. "Let alone sing with her, the greatest singer in the entire world. I’m spoiled for life."

"[We are] like opposite sides of the same coin," Erivo previously added of their bond. "So I think we each have something the other can love and can see themselves."

The most enduring thought I had while watching Wicked: For Good earlier this month? Well, alongside the stream of tears that made an appearance halfway through 'For Good,' (the song), it was how phenomenal Glinda's lip combo looked. That beautiful, glossy, iridescent hue with hints of lilac, pink and blue was totally mesmerising, and I made it my mission to discover exactly which products the makeup artists used to create the look.

Sadly, there seemed to be no clear answer, much to my rising frustration. But then I remembered I was a beauty journalist, and I was lucky enough to be connected to some of the film industry's most respected makeup artists, like Wicked: For Good's award-winning MUA Frances Hannon. Could we call this a beauty PSA of the highest form? I'd say so.

Hannon told me that it was crucial to make a clear distinction between the make-up of Wicked and Wicked: For Good. "It was very important for both Glinda's [Ariana Grande] and Elphaba's [Cynthia Erivo's] make-up looks to evolve to tell the visual story of their characters. How they have grown up and changed since the days of Shiz is shown by subtle make-up changes that give a big difference visually by using many different methods, for example, more density of colour, changing colours and shaping and contouring in various areas," Hannon explained.

For Grande's character, she said, this meant embracing a more 'grown-up' Glinda: "In Wicked: For Good, her maturer look was achieved by making her hair longer and a much paler, creamier colour. Her make-up was intense, particularly around her eyes. The combination immediately made her look much stronger."

Interestingly, she says that Ariana was "one of the most collaborative actors I have ever had the pleasure to work with," and that "Having the opportunity to use her wonderful r.e.m beauty [Grande's makeup brand] products was a fantastic bonus."

This was particularly notable in her lip look. In fact, says Hannon, "Ariana always applied her own lipstick." This consisted of a layer of r.e.m's Practically Permanent Lip Stain Marker in 'Booked n Busy' (which "was then buffed with her finger") followed by the On Your Collar Plumping Lip Gloss in the shades 'Scrunchie' and 'Jelly Sandals.' "Ari regularly topped up her lip gloss during the filming day and, if necessary, on very long days, sometimes added more stain."

As for the rest of her make-up, there was plenty more r.e.m. For the base, Hannon says that the brand's Sweetener Foundation and Sweetener Concealer were used.

For Glinda's beautiful all-over glow, Hannon also used the Interstellar Highlighter Topper in the shade 'Miss Mercury.'

Luckily for us, most of these products are available to buy in UK markets at Boots and Sephora. The lip gloss shade 'Scrunchie' is the only thing that's currently not shoppable, but r.e.m recently released its 'Glinda Makeup Set,' which features two lip products, an eyeshadow and a highlighter; all of which capture that gorgeous iridescent Glinda look.

As a beauty editor, you have to do a lot to get my attention when it comes to hair trends—primarily due to the sheer number of them that continue to appear. But one surefire way to secure my appreciation is to name a trend after food. Case in point? Crème Brûlée hair, which as a major foodie, reeled me in instantly with its name; the visuals evoke creamy, smooth, warm hues akin to the delicious dessert. But what exactly is this trend, and how does it differ from others that are similar?

What is Crème Brûlée hair?

While there are different iterations of the trend, this is largely one for the blondes.

"Blonde Brûlée hair is a warm, caramel toffee-toned blonde that has the perfect mix of golden and amber tones, creating a soft, sun-kissed glow. It gives off a rich finish without being too harsh," explains Jason Collier, key opinion leader at Jerome Russell Bblonde.

"It’s a sandy blonde root with creamy, biscuit blondes throughout," adds Hannah G, Colourist at Hershesons Belgravia. "[It's] the perfect balance of creaminess and warmth, creating a very expensive old money colour."

If you need visual references, Hannah says that for her, Lily-Rose Depp does this colour perfectly. Others who've done it beautifully include Beyonce and Ariana Grande.

Who does this trend suit?

If you're already blonde, chances are this will suit you. But for anyone who's yet to take the leap, Hannah says you're also in luck: "This colour has a version that suits everyone, depending on your colouring, eyes and features, and whether you want to go more creamy or for more warm/ beige tones."

Part of the reason Jason loves this trend so much is because of its versatility, meaning "you can create a bespoke hue," no matter who you are. "For example, it can have more golden or honey tones, or it can lean into a deeper bronze shade."

He adds: "Blonde Brûlée looks great on anyone with a warm or neutral undertone in their skin. It complements fair to medium skin tones too, and if you’ve got darker or olive skin, it can still pop with the right mix of highlights to bring out those richer toffee tones in the hair."

What should you ask for at the salon?

"You should ask for a glossy, dimensional colour," says Hannah. "Crème brûlée has depth and shine." Take the following pictures with you for reference.

As mentioned, if you are already blonde, this will be a quicker journey for you, but you can certainly make it work if your hair isn't already light. It may just be more of a process, and you'll need to work closely with your stylist to find the right shade.

Luckily though, once you have the crème brûlée effect, "it doesn't require much upkeep, and you'll be able to stretch any salon appointments with at-home touch-ups," according to Jason.

The 97th annual Academy Awards red carpet didn't disappoint. From the Brit Awards last night to last week's SAG Awards, it's safe to say that celebrities have been building up to an incredible Oscars red carpet—and they definitely delivered.

Hollywood brought plenty of drama: Ariana Grande's Schiaparelli gravity-defying gown to Mikey Madison's pretty-in-pink, two-toned Christian Dior gown, which resembled a similar dress worn by Gwyneth Paltrow.

We've rounded up the biggest trends of the evening that will set the tone for occasion wear inspiration for 2025 and beyond.

Sheer pink

From Monica Barbaro to Mikey Madison and Rachel Sennott, soft and shimmering hues of pink were a recurring theme on the red carpet. Including A-line skirts and column silhouettes, all three actresses paired their looks with glittering motif jewellery and embellishments.

The slippers might only have been nodded at in Wicked, but as a key part of the beloved original story, they represent Dorothy’s journey from the dust of Kansas to the vibrant land of Oz, and ultimately, her discovery that “there’s no place like home.” Perhaps in the case of Grande’s gown, the slippers not only give a spectacular homage to Garland but also hint at what might be next for the Blockbuster’s much-anticipated sequel.

It's the biggest night in the award season calendar, and the 97th Academy Awards are well underway. The A-listers have gathered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where they've already started to walk the Oscars 2025 red carpet. While the ceremony doesn't kick off until around midnight GMT, we've already seen some of the stars and nominees showing off their impeccable Oscars style; Cynthia Erivo is stunning in a black Louis Vuitton gown, Selena Gomez is radiant in Ralph Lauren, and Raye is oozing Hollywood glamour in Vivienne Westwood.

One of the most talked about dresses of the night - yes, already - is Ariana Grande's unreal structured Schiaparelli gown. However, there is another detail in her outfit that many have overlooked. The Wicked star, who is nominated at the 2025 Oscars in the Best Supporting Actress category, was photographed posing on the red carpet looking over her shoulder, drawing attention to a small black tattoo. The text, which is printed upside down, reads: "In case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!"

The quote is from The Truman Show, the cult 1998 film starring Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, a man who is unaware that his every moment is being filmed and broadcast across the world. Ariana got the tattoo back in 2019 with her friend Courtney Chipolone, who also has the text tattooed on her shoulder. However, when she shared an image of Courtney's version on Instagram, it appears upright, whereas Ariana's is placed upside down. The pair got their inking from celeb favourite artist, Mira Mariah.

Ariana has often spoken about her love of Jim Carrey, previously writing on Instagram that 'my first AIM username was jimcarreyfan42 when I was in like 4th grade'. Cute.

It was another night of unmissable Hollywood glamour at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The biggest names in the business gathered at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday night to celebrate the very best in film and tv, and the SAG awards red carpet was a sight to behold - from Selena Gomez in a stunning off-the-shoulder Celine dress, to Cynthia Erivo's incredible silver Givenchy gown.

There were also plenty of big celebrity moments throughout the evening. Timothée Chalamet, who attended without girlfriend Kylie Jenner, gave a sweet acceptance speech, and Kristen Bell belted out a rather catchy version of Do You Want To Build A Snowman? from Frozen. Jane Fonda also gave a powerful speech about empathy, and Harrison Ford was hilariously caught nibbling on crackers behind Jessica Williams.

But one video has been circulating on social media since last night's ceremony, and it's a sweet moment between Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater. Since the couple went public with their relationship, they have kept their joint appearances to a minimum and are very rarely seen indulging in any PDA. However, one video of Ariana and Ethan sat together at a table during the bash shows the Wicked stars looking relaxed and cosy.

In the clip shared on Vanity Fair's Instagram account, Ariana is seen with her arm snuggly around Ethan as she continues to chat to director Jon M Chu. Meanwhile, Ethan eats and gently puts his arm around the back of her chair.

Although rumours of Ariana and Ethan's relationship first started in July 2023, they have largely kept their romance out of the spotlight. At the time, the pair faced backlash as speculation mounted over their relationship timeline, although sources have claimed that they had broken up with their former partners when they started dating. Ariana officially filed for divorce from her ex-husband Dalton Gomez in September of the same year, while Ethan's ex-wife Lilly Jay penned a heartfelt open letter last year discussing the impact of their split on her and their young son.

Ariana Grande fans were not impressed when they saw a clip from one of the star's Golden Globes red carpet interviews.

At the prestigious awards ceremony on Sunday, the Wicked star spoke to Access Hollywood, with the reporter asking her who the first person she called was when she found out she was nominated.

"Oh my goodness! Well... my mom," Ariana said.

Then the reporter jumped in to clarify: "Is your grandmother still alive?" with Ariana happily answering: "Yes, my nonna! She's 99. Nonna was second."

But while Ariana didn't seem bothered by this line of questioning at all, her fans were.

One person reposted a clip of the interaction on X, writing: "why would she ask it like that"

Another person commented: "that is such a risky question, why would she ask that"

"what happened to saying 'hows your grandma?'" someone else asked.

"Wow. That’s a question for after the second bottle of wine," observed yet another fan.

Another person pointed out: "Cause if she was like 'no she died yesterday' then what?"

Oh dear.

At the Golden Globes, Ariana's film Wicked was nominated in four categories, with Ari herself nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture (rolls right off the tongue!). Wicked won for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

As for the "thank u, next" singer's nonna, she stole hearts in November when her granddaughter took her to watch Wicked with her in her native Florida — so fans are very much aware of how important she is in Ari's life.

As awards season progresses, we can expect Wicked (and Ari) to rack up a bunch more accolades. The phenomenon has been nominated for five Critics Choice Awards, with Oscars nominations yet to be announced.

The 2025 Golden Globes took place in LA last night, and it was the glamorous kick-off to awards season that we had all hoped for. As well as a potential engagement soft-launch from Zendaya, there was an adorable PDA moment between Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner which has since gone viral, and host Nikki Glaser is already being praised for holding the show together following Jo Koy's controversial appearance last year.

And while many A-listers were unmissable at the Golden Globes last night (did you see Emma Stone's new pixie cut? And Zoe Saldana looking radiant in her sparkling Saint Laurent gown?) there were some noticeably absent actors, too. While Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were front and centre thanks to their Wicked nominations, Ariana's boyfriend Ethan Slater didn't walk the red carpet and was nowhere to be seen at the ceremony.

Ariana and Cynthia, who were both nominated for individual awards, walked the red carpet together at The Beverly Hills Hotel and later sat together as they watched the show. When Wicked won the award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, it was collected by director Jon M. Chu and a handful of the Wicked cast, including Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh. However, Ethan - who stars in the film as Boq - was not spotted with his co-stars, or his girlfriend.

Ethan and Ariana have kept their relationship out of the spotlight during the Wicked press tour following the criticism when they started dating in 2023. Ariana had recently split from her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, while Ethan's ex-wife Lilly Jay - with whom he shares a two year old son - penned an essay on the difficulties of their divorce.

But there's a very simple reason why Ariana and Ethan weren't sat side by side during the ceremony; he appears to have decided to skip the Golden Globes altogether. While it could be down to the fact that he wasn't individually nominated for any awards, he wasn't the only actor from the main Wicked cast to forgo the event as Jonathan Bailey (who plays Fiyero) was also absent.

In an interview with GQ late last year, Ethan opened up about his relationship with Ariana and called her 'a genius'. He said: "I'm just really, really proud of Ari and the work she's done on [Wicked]. She’s poured herself into it. I’m really proud that I got to be there for that part of it, and I’m really excited to be there for this next step of it when the world gets to see the amazing thing that she did."

Still, even if you haven't been following the two women's sweet support for each other, Ari just shared an anecdote that beautifully illustrates how strong their bond really is.

"We talk a lot about this pact that we made to take care of each other and to be really honest with each other about anything that were to come up," the "thank u, next" singer explained during a recent talk at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. "But I don’t think people really get how granular we got and how fully we mean that."

She continued: "When I got my contract, I called her and I was like: 'Hey, let’s go through this thing. Like let's go beat per beat through this together and make sure we are aligned in what we need, because if you need something, we need it together. I want us to have each other's backs, like your problems become my problems, and mine become yours."

The audience cheered for the two women's attitude, with Ariana adding: "We really showed up for each other in a really real way that I don't think any press tour, any amount of times we talk about it in a short little TikTok ... it's impossible to really share the depths of how real that is."

She concluded: "I’m really grateful, because it’s one of the things that I’m most proud of is how we nurtured each other."

Ari and Cynthia have welcomed some light teasing of their displays of affection during the Wicked press tour, notably the viral "holding space" interview.

In said interview, everyone got really emotional over a very confusing statement, and Ariana grabbed onto Cynthia's fingers/nails for comfort. The whole thing has become a series of very funny memes, of course.

Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande are undoubtedly two of the most talked-about people in the world. And with Wicked breaking box office records, and Emilia Pérez taking Netflix by storm, they have both been front and centre in 2024.

That was particularly true this week, as Grande and Gomez received Golden Globe nominations for their new projects - with both women nominated for ‘Best performance by a female actor in a supporting role in any motion picture’. Gomez is also nominated for her performance in popular Disney+ comedy drama series, Only Murders in the Building.

And while the 2025 Golden Globe nominations undoubtedly went viral, the biggest talking point was Gomez and Grande’s budding friendship, with the pair reaching out to personally congratulate each other.

“I respect [Selena Gomez] so much, and I’ve always adored her,” Grande explained to Variety at the Academy Women’s Luncheon on Tuesday, even reporting that she asked to sit with her fellow nominee. “I was really happy for her to see us on that list together. It was very special.”

“Ariana texted me and it was the sweetest note and it was about six in the morning,” Gomez reported to the publication, explaining that Grande and her now fiancé Benny Blanco were among the first people to message her. “We sent each other voice messages,” she continued. “It was very exciting.”

“I really love watching this moment happen for Selena,” Grande later explained to Variety of their text exchange. “I know how hard she’s worked and how long she’s waited. I recognize that because it resonates with me so I know that feeling. So when you can reach out to your friends in the industry and say, ‘Great work, congratulations,’ why not do it?”

Ariana Grande may be a super famous A-lister (and a grown woman), but that doesn't stop her mum from scolding her in the most relatable way ever.

The star recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about how many times she's seen her new film Wicked so far, and spoiler alert — it's a LOT.

"I lost count," she said. "I think I’m at 10."

Because she's seen it so many time in such a short space of time, it's definitely understandable that she might get a teensy weensy bit bored during a screening from time to time. Still, Ari's mum Joan Grande wasn't having her daughter's cinema etiquette-breaking behaviour — superstar or not.

"When I saw it with my nonna in Florida, I did check my phone a few times and my mom was like, 'Ariana, get off your phone!'" she recalled. "And I was like, 'Mommy, not only have I seen it, but I’m in it!' I was like, 'I know what happens here. I think I can quickly check what was just sent to me!' She’s like, 'Ariana, you’re talking!'"

We love how this could just be any of our mums. So relatable.

In case you missed it, Ariana adorably brought her grandmother to see Wicked with her recently so that they could see it together, and shared the whole thing on her Instagram Stories. Ari's brother Frankie and her boyfriend Ethan Slater were also invited for the special occasion.

"Flew to Boca for a day to watch with Nonna at the movie theater I grew up going to every weekend, Cinemark 20 in Boca," she wrote, per the Independent.

Ariana also added: "Thrilled to report that when the sugar glider had her drum solo Nonna exclaimed loudly, 'Oh I LOVE that.'"

This is the most wholesome thing to have ever happened.

Prince William is a festive man, and as such you'd better bet he has a favourite festive song. Before knowing what that song is, you might have guessed something traditional like Good King Wenceslas or We Three Kings - or more realistically, since William is a known lover of pop music, perhaps a nice bit of Wham! or Ariana Grande.

But no. The actual answer is rather more unexpected. The Prince of Wales sweetly gave a Christmas interview for the Royal Marsden Hospital. As part of the programme, hosted by Barry Alston, William was asked a set of festive questions which had been sent in by young listeners, including one about his favourite Christmas song.

Things are about to get a whole lot Christmassy-er in the Wales household, as Princess Kate will once again be hosting her beloved carol concert on 6th December at Westminster Abbey. For those of us not lucky enough to bag an invite, the event will be broadcast on Christmas Eve on ITV, for the fourth year running.

Earlier this week, Kate and William's team shared that invitations had been sent to guests with a sweet video teaser and the caption: "Invites are well on their way ahead of our Together at Christmas Carol Service! Bringing together inspiring people from across the UK, Westminster Abbey will be filled with 1,600 people who have supported others in their communities, whether on a personal level with friends and family, through their work or as they selflessly give up their time through volunteering."

How lovely!

Simone Biles is undoubtedly the woman of the moment, with the 27-year-old gymnast dominating the 2024 Olympics this summer, winning her sixth Olympic gold medal this week.

Biles, known as the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time), is famed for her record-breaking gymnastic displays, drawing in A-list audiences, with Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Serena Williams spotted cheering her on from the sidelines.

Another firm supporter and regular attendee is of course Simone Biles' husband, NFL star Jonathan Owens, who posted a sweet tribute to his wife this week, accompanied by a photograph of him wearing her gold medal.

"Witnessing history every time you step on the mat," Owens captioned the snap. "Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!! Just wow!!!! 8 of them!!!! So thankful I was there to see it."

However, the tribute was met by a wave of online criticism, with Biles' fans condemning Owens for wearing his wife's medal, and accusing him of making the moment about himself.

"Give the medal back bby that's not yours", read one comment, while another stated: "That's Simone's gold medal you're holding, not yours my guy."

"There's something very unsettling about you wearing her medal. Seems off. Give it back to her immediately," read another. "Don't steal her thunder. She EARNED that medal HERSELF."

TikTok's Kiera Breaugh even released a viral video on the subject, with her post telling Owens to "take her medal off" raking in over 2.1 million views.

This is when Biles herself entered the narrative, shutting down the criticism of her husband in the comment section of Breaugh's viral video.

“Crazy thing is, I put my medal on every single one of my family members and took pictures," read Biles' comment. "So don’t ever make assumptions. Like y’all are so fucking miserable. Leave us alone.”

Kiera Breaugh has since responded, telling viewers: "She put the medal on him. I can't really be mad if she told him to," and adding that she was "honoured to be told to fuck off by such a talented woman."

Ariana Grande's boyfriend Ethan Slater is not divorced yet, according to reports. A source told Us Weekly that the SpongeBob star and his estranged wife Lilly Jay are 'still in the mediation phase' and added: "[Things] haven’t been finalised yet."

According to the source, Ethan is keen for things to be done and dusted so that he can fully enjoy his relationship with Ariana.

"Ethan and Ariana are living together at her place and are very happy, but he’s eager to get things finalised with the divorce," the insider continued. "He wants the option to propose [to Ariana], so he’s doing everything he can to expedite things."

Ethan and Ariana's relationship came somewhat out of the blue, the two having met on the set of Wicked while both were still married to other people. While Ariana's relationship with ex-husband Dalton Gomez was reportedly over by the time she was filming Wicked, Lilly was apparently 'blindsided' by her husband's relationship with the singer, as the pair had welcomed their first child together just a year before. She was reportedly 'devastated' over her husband's new relationship, with a source saying last July: "This is not the future she had in mind."

She and Ethan had been together since 2012 and were high school sweethearts, and they welcomed their son sometime in 2022. A source claimed last summer: "Ethan sat Lilly down a few days before the news broke about him and Ariana and said that he wanted a divorce. Lilly never saw it coming."

Speaking to Page Six at the time, Lilly herself weighed in on the drama: "[Ariana’s] the story, really," she said. "My family is just collateral damage."

However, both Ariana and Ethan's spokespeople have denied that there was any overlap with their former relationships, and Ariana hit back at the speculation over the timeline in her recent song Yes, And? (we're sure you've heard the lyrics by now). 

Since then, Ariana and Ethan's relationship appears to have held strong, with the two of them moving in together in New York City, and showing no sign of their romance slowing down.

It may feel like the Wicked movie has been in production forever, but finally, finally, we're being offered a glimpse of what to expect from the film adaptation - and the first sneak peak trailer for the movie, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, is a colourful big budget retelling of the award-winning musical. 

The film will be split into two parts - with the first instalment set for release in November 2024, and the second part landing a year later in November 2025 - and with Ariana as Glinda, Cynthia as the iconic Elphaba, and the likes of Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and Jonathan Bailey joining the cast, it's set to be a huge hit when it finally makes its way to cinemas. Wicked fans have already decided that it will be Oscar-nomination worthy, and if the teaser notes of Defying Gravity got you feverishly excited, then same. 

However, it isn't just the epic rainbow-coloured trailer, A-list cast and haunting rendition that has the internet talking. It's the costumes. And in particular, Ariana's fluffy pink Glinda gown. 

According to a number of viewers, the dress - an enormous layered and ruffled bubblegum pink number - likes like ham. An unusually large weighting of trailer-watchers agreed that Ari's pink dress was comparable to an array of lunch meats, including prosciutto and sliced bologna, and now people can't unsee it. 

User @airbagged shared the poster on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: "Why does her dress look like prosciutto?"

The post racked up over 113k likes, with other users chiming in. One added: "Oh boy subway do I have a deal for you."

Another wrote, "That dress look like sliced bologna lol" while someone else claimed: "Nah it looks like those ginger slices you get with sushi."

Another person wrote: "Charcuterie core."

Part one of the Wicked movie, directed by Jon M. Chu, is set for release on 27th November 2024 to coincide with Thanksgiving in the US.

Ariana Grande has officially filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Dalton Gomez.  

In July it became public knowledge that the former couple had called time on their relationship. Sources claimed that the pair was 'taking their time together to slowly work through the details of the agreement privately' but reports suggest that they had actually separated months before - on 20th February 2023 - despite the fact that Ariana posted on Instagram to celebrate their two year anniversary in May. 

Ariana, who has spent much of 2023 in the UK filming Wicked, was spotted without her wedding ring when she attended Wimbledon this summer and news of an impending divorce appeared online shortly afterwards. 

While neither Ariana nor Dalton have publicly commented, the 7 Rings singer officially filed for divorce this week, with Dalton filing his own papers immediately afterwards. 

According to TMZ, Ariana's lawyer was first to file stating 'irreconcilable differences'. 

The former couple met in January 2020 and announced their engagement in December of the same year. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in May 2021, with less than 20 people present according to People. 

However, when speculation over their separation started swirling an insider claimed that their marriage 'didn't work' when their relationship became long distance due to Ariana's work commitments. 

Around the same time, rumours that Ariana has since been dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater began to surface. Ethan - who was married to his high school sweetheart Lilly Jay, with whom he shares a one year old son - filed for divorce in July.

While Lilly told Page Six that her 'family is just collateral damage', a source claimed that both Ariana and Ethan's former relationships were over before they got together. 

They told People: "Ariana and Ethan didn’t begin seeing each other until after both parties were separated, respectfully.

"They are doing their best to balance the fact that they are in the public eye with the desire to be respectful to all parties involved. They are just trying to navigate their new relationship in private."

Any project Ariana Grande sets her sights on is bound to get people talking; from her impressive vocals and outstanding music career, to her beauty business, and interesting Christmas decorations, we simply can't get enough of the talented superstar. 

But her talents keep growing as she has set her sights on acting too. 

Ariana has confirmed she is set to take on the movie business, and star in the film adaptation of the hit musical Wicked. 

Now, fans have been given a sneak peek into the upcoming movie, which will also star Cynthia Erivo. 

Wicked's director, Jon M. Chu, has had movie buffs, and Ariana fans, head over heels as he shared two stills from the two-part film adaptation over the weekend on his Instagram account. 

The post was captioned: "You weren't told the whole story. What happens when you veer off the Yellow Brick Road? FIRST LOOK of the #WickedMovie … currently in production in Oz."

Within just a few hours the post has racked up over 74,000 likes on the photo sharing site. 

The string of images include a photo of Cynthia as Elphaba, wearing her signature black coat and hat concealing her character's green skin, while perched on a broom flying away from the camera. 

The second image sees Ariana, as Glinda, wearing an extravagant pink gown you can just about glimpse as she ascends a flight of stairs, while her golden blonde tresses billow behind her. 

Both figures are quite distant from the camera, so you really have to zoom in to get a closer look - clever hack Jon as now we are desperate to know more. 

Ariana and Cynthia were cast as the lead characters in the movie based on the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire back in November 2021.

Two years later and Jeff Goldblum confirmed he was joining the impressive cast, and is set to portray the Wizard.

The trio will also be joined by award-winning Michelle Yeoh, who has been cast as Madame Morrible, while Jonathan Bailey is tipped to star as Fiyero, Ethan Slater as Bog, and Bowen Yang as Pfannee. 

Considering the main line up was confirmed in 2021, there is now great anticipation as to when we can expect the films release. 

PEOPLE has reported movie buffs will have to wait a little while longer to watch the Wicked reboot on the big screen. 

It is claimed Wicked part one and part two will drop on Christmas Day in 2024 and 2025, respectively. 

Singer Ariana Grande is set to flex her Broadway chops with her upcoming role as Glinda (or Gah-linda) in Jon M. Chu’s Wicked adaptation. While she’s teased a few behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram from the project, she revealed she’d undergone a major makeover yesterday when she debuted a brand new blonde hairstyle.

She posted a tongue-in-cheek caption which read simply: “New earrings.”

While her pearl earrings were very cute, most of her fans in the comments were understandably screaming about her new hair. Her Wicked coworkers however leaned into the joke, with her director Chu saying, “Earrings look great!”

Tony-award winning actress Cynthia Erivo, who is set to star as her best frenemy Elphaba in the film, also added, “Earrings are AMAZING!!”

She also shared an Instagram story of a different view of her ashy blonde hair, paired with a brown hairband. Her caption suggested it was a moment from the Wicked shoot, which read, “How I love you, please come back to Oz very soon.”

Wicked centres on the relationship between Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the Good Witch, from The Wizard of Oz. For fans of the original musical, it’s no surprise that Grande has gone blonde as actors typically don a blonde wig for the role of Glinda onstage - along with a gigantic flouncy dress and wand.

With Grande and Erivo set to bring their incredible singing chops to the roles, excitement has been high for the film which is slated to be released in 2024. In any case, the pair seem to have brought their onscreen friendship into their real lives as Grande shared a picture of the pair sitting in what appears to be a dance studio during rehearsals earlier this month.

The role is a dream come true for Grande, who was previously asked in a 2013 KiddNation interview what her dream Broadway role was. She responded, “Glinda, for sure.”

The stretch between Christmas and New Year is traditionally a time for muddy walks, turkey sandwiches and of course, Netflix. This year, one particular release has dominated social media feeds: Adam McKay's satirical sci-fi movie, Don't Look Up. 

Streamable since Christmas Eve, it’s easy to see why Don't Look Up has attracted mega audiences, with the cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Jonah Hill and Jennifer Lawrence. 

But fans might be surprised to hear that J Law found filming with Jonah Hill almost impossible. 

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the Hunger Games star said it was “was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take, laughing.”

She continued: “I mean, he’s just a comedic master."

Jennifer added how they had “an entire day to him just improv-ing insults at me. It was amazing…[Jonah] and Meryl [Streep] were the only ones who should do that kind of improv.”

Released to Netflix on Christmas eve, Don’t Look Up tells the story of a comet about to destroy Earth. Director Adam McKay previously said there were times when the film mirrored the crisis we’re facing with the pandemic. 

The filmmaker said: "It was really strange because you've seen the movie and you know the premise – a lot of it is like Covid. Every third day I'm getting texts from our cast and crew going, 'Oh, my God this scene from the movie just happened.’

"I had a moment where I was like, 'Do we need to make this movie?' I picked up the script, and I realised it read in a different way. The movie was never about Covid; it was all about how we've profitised and distorted the means with which we talk to each other and communicate. It was always about social media, careerism and greed."

Don’t Look Up is available to stream on Netflix. 

Every year, as part of the New Year Honours list, the Queen rewards special achievements with titles such as Knighthoods and Damehoods.

And while actors, artists and authors like Twiggy and The Handmaid's Tale Margaret Atwood were happy to accept the titles, one celebrity reportedly respectfully turned it down.

Singer Ariana Grande was offered a Damehood for her bravery following the Manchester attack, and organising a concert to support the victims' families.

However, she is said to have turned it down as she felt it was too soon after the incident in May 2017, when a bomb went off at her concert, claiming the lives of 22 victims, including many youngsters.

Just a few weeks after the attack, Ariana hosted the One Love Manchester benefit concert, where the likes of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus performed, which resulted in more than £10m in donations to the British Red Cross. Fans then started a petition for the Thank U, Next performer to receive a Damehood.

A source told The Sun, 'Ariana was flattered but said it was too soon. She explained she was still grieving. So were scores of families. She feared some affected might see it as insensitive. The committee wrote to her but she politely said no.'

Another source added, 'She was deeply moved and honoured. She didn’t decline it as such but explained it was not the right time to accept.'

The singer has yet to comment on this.
