Carrie Bradshaw's taste in men—and her tendency to boomerang straight back into their arms—might be what you'd call a "red flag" in modern dating parlance. But if there's one long-term commitment she got right, it's to corsages, not a dalliance but a love affair that lasted for a six-seasoned show, two movie spin-offs and a reboot.

The accessory is once again getting its flowers at Haute Couture Week, the twice-annual event currently happening in Paris. Outside Dior, Alexa Chung wore a black dress gathered at the left hip, a corsage (plus a stream of powder blue flowers) providing its satiny fabric with extra fabulousness. The flora theme continued inside the venue, a veritable hot house, and on the catwalk itself, where corsages were used to decorate lapels, waists, hips and even handbags (the brand's refined top-handle, the Lady Dior).

Like its cousin, the brooch, corsages have a reputation for being old-fashioned (fusty, even). The fortunes of both have been reversed this season, however, with floral pins being deployed—left, right and centre—to give the most basic item of clothing a decided flourish.

Tory Burch's T-shirt is one such example, a crew-neck design that comes with a bloom—its petals tinged pink—on the left-hand side. You can see how it would elevate the most basic or muted of bottom halves (cargo shorts, say, or black linen trousers), lending finesse to an unfussy outfit.

If chest height feels too season three Carrie, try pinning it somewhere "random"—just above your hip bone or a bag strap—and see how that affects the essence of your look. You can also play with the size (Blair Eadie's feathery explosion might be the ultimate evening corsage).

Timed perfectly to coincide with our latest heatwave comes not one but two collaborations that include the kind of co-ord—easy and yet elegant—that will make holiday packing, but also getting dressed for the office, not a cinch but certainly manageable. The first comes from Monikh Dale, who's once again partnered with resort brand Faithfull, creating a capsule, Monikh x Faithfull, that mirrors the minimal silhouettes, and earthy colour palette, of the stylist's own wardrobe.

Alexis Foreman has also collaborated with Asceno, another brand that does swimwear, and summer dressing, with an ease that you'll very much want to emulate. The AF x Asceno co-ords, available in espresso, white and black, are made from materials that will feel cool against the skin (the silk-twill tunic and matching pants set is particularly tantalising).

Keep scrolling to see which co-ords suit which occasions, although, truthfully, anything that feels comfortable will also look chic. And in this weather, that will be music to most ears.

Holiday Co-Ords

Sarah Corbett-Winder's takes a "pile it on" approach to holiday dressing, but grounds the look with this checked two-piece—also from Faithfull. A shirt-and-shorts set is another tried-and-tested co-ord when you're by the beach, allowing you to separate the components and make them work harder (it's not their holiday!) with everything in your suitcase.

Evening Co-Ords

A knitted co-ord works especially well after the sun has set when you might otherwise need a layer. The Monikh x Faithfull collaboration has a plum duo—a slouchy knit that drops off one shoulder plus a maxi skirt—that will be effortless to wear but still make an impact.

Office Co-Ords

The office can be an oasis of air-conditioning during the hottest weeks of summer, but you have to get there in one piece. Ironically, a two-piece might be the slickest way to do heatwave workwear; a shirt-and-skirt set being a particularly good option that you can pair with simple leather sandals.

Many of the above co-ords will be suitable for off-duty, but the truly savvy will shop for a versatile set that can be worn multiple ways (a minidress that can also double as a top or subtly-tailored linen pants that can be styled with their partner or any of your other button-downs).

With a heatwave settling over much of the UK, what did you learn from our last hot spell? Not to wear knee-high boots (I don't know how the girlies do it)? Switching your baseball cap for a sweat-wicking bandana scarf? Both are excellent takeaways but my area of interest has shifted to denim. It's such a staple for many of us that it feels wrong to exclude the fabric as soon as temperatures soar. But how can you sport it and not feel dizzyingly hot?

The A-list has come up with several answers. Firstly, Zoey Deutch's baggy jeans in an elegant indigo shade. I know, I know, wearing jeans that might pool at your ankles, adding extra inches that need to be dragged around, sounds like the opposite of heatwave-approved but, trust us (or Deutch), it's actually a more cooling way to wear jeans than anything more tailored, especially if you follow her advice about what to pair them with (more on that later). And P.S. Dark denim will hide any unwanted sweat marks and, ultimately, look far chicer than anything mid-blue or bleached.

Secondly, Bermuda shorts (or jorts), which have been trending for the past few summers and, surely, need no introduction. Again, they're slightly looser on the leg, allowing for crucial air circulation, but still have a tailored cut that's suitable for work, especially if you opt for a dark-blue denim.

Lastly, Rihanna's favourite: capri pants, denim edition. These are slimline but can also be paired with barely-there tops for balance (think, whisper-thin silks or cowl-neck halters) and ankle-tie heels for a look that's perfect for heatwave date nights (fiery, indeed!).

Baggy Jeans

Baggy jeans in a heatwave?! An understandable question/exclamation but here's the thing—you're always going to be hot when it's a heatwave, and if you still want to wear denim, you should know that a baggier cut might have more fabric but with crucial wiggle room on the leg, thanks to a wide-leg cut, it's going to feel a lot more cooling than a straight or skinny fit. Of course, it matters what you wear it with. Enter Zoey Deutch, whose ribbed tank and heeled flip-flops felt like a no-muss, no-fuss take paired with indigo turn-up jeans.

Bermuda Shorts

Instead of short-shorts, Bermudas have the edge this summer, especially pairs with a gentle flare or indigo wash like Ella Hunt's. Find a smart Bermuda, like the below pleat-front pair by COS, and you can most definitely wear them to work, tucking in a white shirt or knitted tank for a polished but positively cool outfit forecast.

In this latest installment, we turn our attention to the exciting new era of Celine under Michael Rider. Having spent a decade working alongside Phoebe Philo before returning to the house as Creative Director, Rider has ushered in a fresh chapter that has reignited excitement around the storied French label. Here, we break down how, in less than two years, he has built on Celine's already-iconic status, further cementing its position as one of the world's most coveted luxury fashion houses, with stylish women everywhere eager to buy into his vision.

The Designer

When Michael Rider was appointed artistic director of Celine in 2024, it signalled a kind of homecoming—not just for the designer but for die-hard fans of Phoebe Philo. You see, Rider served as design director of ready-to-wear for a decade from 2008 to 2018 under Philo, honing his design language beside one of the most influential creatives in the sphere of women’s fashion, and contributing to the cult of @oldceline, the account that was created after the changing of the guard that brought in Hedi Slimane. While Slimane’s appointment initially divided opinion among Philo loyalists, his tenure proved undeniably successful from a commercial standpoint, driving significant growth for the house and attracting a new generation of loyal consumers.

Before Celine, Rider worked for another industry trailblazer between the years of 2004-2008, Nicolas Ghesquière, who then held the reins at Balenciaga. The American designer, who was born in Washington, D.C., has essentially worked for three household names in fashion because, after his first stint at Celine, he graduated to helming the womenswear arm of Polo Ralph Lauren. Known for its iconic prep—and tastefully executed sportswear—you can see the fruits of all three in what the internet is now calling “Current Celine”.

Style Notes

Michael Rider has already defined his Celine, choosing three words to encapsulate its essence before his first show for SS26. “Celine stands for quality, for timelessness and for style.” To those, one could add a certain intelligence—these are clothes for thinking women—and focus on the female gaze. Phoebe Philo’s most enduringly referenced pieces always lent a specific air to whoever bought them, whether it was the grass-coloured, menu-printed blanket (with entries including, “Bangers and Mash, £4.99” and “Jam Roly Poly”) or her black sock boots complete with contrast beige toebox. That air was hard-to-put-your-finger-on, cool yet clever, and it’s a legacy that is being continued by Rider, a designer who understands how to make easy, and yet erudite, clothes.

The Collection

Celine’s Parisian HQ—16 Rue Vivienne—was the venue for SS26, or, more specifically, its courtyard, with show-goers happily shaded beneath the canopy of trees lining either side of the catwalk. The setting, a snapshot of a breezy city life in spring, mirrored the collection in some respects; clothing that was classic-with-a-twist—artful yet undeniable wearable.

Rider presented a fully-realised wardrobe, with facets of tailoring (tuxedo jackets styled with skinny jeans), prep (navy blazers worn over high-waisted chinos) and feminine sculpture (jersey gowns twisting around the body), offering his customer “hero” pieces to collect—and wear for a lifetime (the cropped biker jackets, scarf-lined trench coats, gilded Celine logo belts, which have already flown off the shelves, and leather Derbies). The colour palette was distinctly Philo-esque, primary shots of canary, tomato and cobalt, which intersected with plenty of black and white.

“Old Céline” was how the fans referred to the brand under Philo (Hedi Slimane famously scrapped the brand’s accent over the first “e” when he joined the maison). Maybe Rider’s era could be defined as “New Old Celine”, considering his association with Philo, Or, maybe, he will carve his own path, while paying homage to the house’s storied heritage, and many chapters.

The Icons

The Celine belt sn’t just a thing of beauty; it’s a bona fide cult accessory. Cleverly incorporating the brand’s distinctive logo — two interlocking Cs rendered in curved gold-finished plates — it strikes a balance between statement-making and sophistication. The effect is arresting and artistic, a far cry from quiet luxury, while also serving as an ingenious marketing tool that continues to captivate customers past, present and future. A staple among some of fashion’s most stylish names, it has the power to transform even the simplest outfit.

The Impact

Whilst the house doesn't publicly discuss its sustainability practices, Rider used the words “quality” and “timelessness” to describe his Celine—and they go some way to helping the brand’s case when it comes to consumption. These are clothes that speak for themselves, outside a seasonal trend cycle, and, as such, should almost become collector’s items (rather like “Old Céline”, which surely still does a brisk trade on resale platforms).

Celine Fan Club

With a rollcall of fans including Meryl Streep, Tracee Eliss Ross and Michaela Coel, Michael Rider is certainly doing something right. After his most recent show, in fact, Ross commented on Instagram: “my my my MICHAEL RIDER what a collection.” It's also becoming a red-carpet threat (Hacks' Hannah Einbinder wore the coolest "gown", actually a turtleneck and tulip skirt, at this year's Cannes Film Festival).

The Marie Claire Edit

What’s special about this collection is that you could cherry pick one item and deploy it whenever an outfit needs a little something extra. This is as true of the “everyday” garments (the brand’s cotton-twill black trousers), as the look-twice accessories (the honeyed sunglasses). Here are just some of our favourites below.

Zendaya is the opposite of a "smug married", except on last night's red carpet for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which took place in a meltingly-hot Paris, she had every right to be; not so much because of her husband but because of what she had chosen to wear: a gorgeously oversized T-shirt. Vintage, and naturally depicting the film's titular superhero, it was cool in both senses of the word; a lesson in undone summer dressing and not trying too hard.

The vintage T-shirt—or, in some cases, the vintage-esque T-shirt—is proving to be a hot-girl saviour this summer (especially if you dress it up with a pair of jelly shoes or smouldering heels). Jennifer Lawrence's off-duty wardrobe revolves around a rotation of tees—one of which pledges her allegiance to Mickey Mouse—which she pairs with elevated joggers or studded pants.

Alexa Chung is known for her vintage nous but, also, her "outfitcam" selfies that she's been posting on Instagram, most of which include what is a graphic or slogan tee (that's either vintage or has a lived-in look) from her extension collection.

Teaming hers with the ideal heatwave bottom half—fluid slips that grace the mid-calf—Chung makes a (very convincing) case for re-embracing the vintage-looking T-shirt, an item of clothing that might have defined your early '00s wardrobe if you were obsessed with the Olsens.

Vestiaire Collective's T-shirt section carries a wealth of pre-loved designer tees, but, really, your best bet is probably hanging in your local charity shop or nearest vintage boutique. And like Zendaya, who chose a motif that meant something to her, the best tee will telegraph something about your personality, whether that's your favourite band or cartoon character.

If Loewe's pre-fall campaign feels like the piece missing from your summer dressing puzzle—with visuals that feature a man facing the sea; a gentle breeze lifting the vertically-striped shirt tied around his waist to expose a tantalising hint of under-cheek—you're not alone. But as well as this reference, there's another one that feels very on-point for summer 2026; the repositioning of stripes as not just the print but the only print when temperatures rise.

Photographed by Talia Chetrit, several of the images (shot with a backdrop of ocean or stacked sun-loungers) feature a preppy deckchair stripe; a scene-stealing pattern that feels very high-summer. Since then, the stripe has dusted itself off, cropping up repeatedly in decidedly chic settings—and reminding us all why it's a classic for a reason.

The Breton, no surprises there, has emerged as the seasonal favourite once again. At the Cannes Film Festival, Anais Demoustier wore a striped rugby T-shirt—comprising navy blue and butter yellow—at the photocall for La Vénus Electrique; a sporty take on the Breton.

Influencer Alexis Foreman has also been championing the Breton, with a limoncello version that gave the piece something of a twist from Matteau. While you can stick to what you know with a navy-and-white Breton, this summer pushes the stripe ever-so-slightly out of its comfort zone, whether that's with a variegated pattern or with a punchier colour palette like Foreman's.

It has been impossible to miss striped jeans and trousers on Instagram, with the trend emerging as one of the easiest ways to introduce colour into your wardrobe with minimal effort. For inspiration on styling bold striped trousers in a way that still feels effortless, look to Maria de la Orden, co-founder of the Barcelona-based La Veste. Her signature Pippi trousers are available in 11 different colour combinations and have become a favourite among the fashion set. Meanwhile, Blair Eadie has long made colourful dressing her calling card. If there's a striped piece worth knowing about, chances are she's already wearing it. Seen here in an off-the-shoulder dress by Staud, she demonstrates another easy way to embrace the trend for summer occasions.

Perhaps that is the secret behind stripes' return for summer 2026. As our lives become increasingly busy, pieces that simplify the getting-dressed process are exactly what we're gravitating towards—and few trends work harder than stripes.

The Breton, Revisited

Striped Dresses

Not as ubiquitous as its floral counterpart, the striped dress still has form during summer. And this year, resortwear brands have backed the print, from Cala de la Cruz, which has actually combined florals and stripes on a graphic mini dress, to Staud, which has given a long-sleeved knit cover-up a bold vertical stripe in shades of turquoise, canary and brown.

Striped Shorts

Loewe's campaign made a (very convincing) case for striped shorts—and there's plenty of versions on shop floors with a similar vibe (pretty yet playful). Lido's elasticated waist and primary-coloured stripes are particularly fun, while Reformation's Bermudas, which are slightly more subtle, are 10/10 chic. (Psst: Even if your striped shorts don't have a paperbag waist like Loewe's, you can still size up, roll up the cuffs so the white pocket linings peek out. Clever, no?)

Striped Trousers

A striped trouser doesn't have to mean boardroom suiting. Having said that, Toteme's reverse pinstripe is particularly novel on a balloon-leg silhouette—don't you think? Elsewhere, Mango's wide-legged, and wide-striped jeans take a different—but no less interesting approach—with the kind of personality that means the rest of your outfit can take the day off.

Striped Totes

Unless you're ready to go all in and mix clashing stripes (it is summer, after all), why not ease into the trend with a bright tote bag paired with your existing summer outfits?

It might be a touch masochistic—spying on the holidays of the A-list, whether they've chartered a private yacht or set up camp on a fabulously sultry island—but it can also be a useful research exercise, a fact-finding mission that will help you decide to what to buy for your own out-of-office (or heatwave) wardrobe.

The VIP getaway to prick my antennae most recently belonged to Net-a-Porter, whose CEO, Heather Kaminetsky, co-hosted a weekend with Catherine Holstein, founder and chief creative officer of Khaite, in Florence. The occasion? A celebration of an exclusive capsule, which is now available to shop on Net-a-Porter, as well as the reopening of Villa San Michele (Belmond-owned, it's just undergone an extension renovation).

The takeaway—as well as the timeless beauty of Tuscany, of course—is that sheer is (once again) a trend worth bookmarking this summer, especially the grown-up takes spotted on the weekend's celebrity guest list. Gemma Chan wore a sleeveless column gown that, actually, didn't show any skin courtesy of a slip that created a triangle of exposed skin, adding interest with just a whisper. Alexa Chung packed a mint-green strappy top, which came pleasingly ruched and, again, didn't shout but merely suggested what lay beneath. (Incidentally, Da'Vine Joy Randolph beat them both to it at the premiere of Euphoria, styling out a black lace two-piece—a peplum-waisted top and kick-flare trousers—with the merest hint of sheer.)

It's hard to imagine a better way to style out the heat (at home or in Florence), where you can be covered up but still feel cool and have a hint of skin on show. This is how to wear sheer everywhere—in the office (as long as it's layered over something opaque), out for dinner and on holiday, maximising its potential for elegance while keeping things easy. And, interestingly, this version of sheer—grown-up and subtly attention-grabbing instead of "naked"—arrived on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.

Riley Keough's Chanel "suit"—a three-piece look that comprised of a button-down top, a knee-length skirt and a crew-neck jacket, all made of a gossamer-fine material that almost seemed invisible (and certainly must have felt like it)—was a modern take on the sheer trend, and, with an in-built triangle bra and chic boxer shorts, did not rely on revealing but concealing.

For a slightly more practical, everyday approach, choose a solid pair of shorts with a bra top and a loose, sheer shirt. There are varying degrees of translucency to choose from, depending on your preference, because confidence goes hand-in-hand with comfort where sheer is concerned. Alternatively, a layered organza dress is a smarter option for the office. While neutral tones can feel a little too undressed, choosing a bold shade of red and pairing it with minimalist sandals creates a low-lift, high-impact outfit.

It's still not an easy trend to buy into but pick the right pieces—i.e. ones that mean you can still wear a bra underneath (and not just a wireless triangle style)—and you'll almost certainly find they're surprisingly versatile. Blouses or button-downs are one of the best entry points into sheer, particularly styles that are breathable enough to accommodate something underneath like this asymmetric cape from Massimo Dutti, which you could easily slip over a silk dress or camisole to create wafty layers. Dissh's organza-silk top, with a simple round neck that contrasts with its drop-waist peplum hem for drama, is more than semi-sheer but could so easily be styled over a bandeau-style bra (preferably the same colour as the blouse, which comes in black, chocolate or beige, so that it doesn't stand out) or a more sporty crop top if you prefer something with straps.

I would personally avoid totally sheer trousers or skirts—which do exist!—but you can dabble in skirts that are basically a mini and midi, with a translucent panel at the hemline (Reformation's column style, which is opaque until approximately the mid-thigh then sheer all the way to the ankle, is more than appropriate for on- and off-duty).

Revealing just a whisper, and concealing plenty too, the sheer trend might be your ticket to glamour in Tuscany—or, frankly, wherever—this summer.

It was Hathaway’s personal life that made headlines this week however, with the 43-year-old actress speaking out about a private 10-year health battle.

During a recent appearance on The New York Times’ Popcast podcast, Hathaway revealed that she had previously struggled with early-onset cataracts, leaving her “legally blind” in her left eye for 10 years.

“This is maybe too much information, [but] I was half blind for 10 years,” the One Day star explained. “It impacted my vision so much that I was basically legally blind out of my left eye and I wound up getting surgery.

“I didn’t realise how bad it had gotten until I could finally see the full spectrum,” she continued. “I’ve calmed down since then. I didn’t realise it was actually taxing my nervous system.”

With Hathaway’s vision problems reportedly starting in 2013, she is believed to have been legally blind in her left eye while filming major Hollywood blockbusters, including Interstellar, The Intern, Colossal, Ocean's 8, Dark Waters and Armageddon Time.

“I appreciate vision because I literally feel like every day, I wake up and I get to see the way that I do, it’s a miracle,” Hathaway added in her Popcast interview. “I actually am like: ‘Oh, two generations back, that wouldn’t have been an option for someone like me.’ So, I actually do feel very connected to that kind of a miracle.”

This, according to royal expert Russell Myers would be a very important visit, noting on the Mirror's 'Pod Save The King' podcast that India holds "a very significant place in the world with the war in Ukraine and the state of trade and the environment as well."

"She is prepared to go and accompany William not only for the Earthshot trip, but the people in the government and the foreign office will be leaping around the room I imagine," he continued.

"Can someone explain what this means?," Lizzo asked her fans, to which one X user responded: "It means all that shit talking you did about Tay finally caught up with you."

"Are you well? First of all I have never talked shit about Taylor Swift," Lizzo publicly responded, shutting down the accusations. "Also while we on the subject I've never talked shit about any artist. Just because I mention an artist by name does not mean I'm talking shit - grow tf up pls."

This is not the first time that Lizzo has shut down feud rumours between her and Taylor Swift, with the Pink singer speaking out during the Perth leg of her Australia tour in 2023.

Responding to a fan's sign that said "I chose you over Taylor," Lizzo publicly announced: "I’m going to start off be saying thank you for coming to my show, I know tickets are expensive to everybody’s shows, so it means the world to me that you’re here.

"[But] Taylor Swift is amazing as well," she added. "I heart Tay Tay too, there’s no competition here."

Lizzo also went on to shut down a claim that she was throwing "shade" at Olivia Rodrigo over the weekend, taking to X to clear up the situation.

"WOAH! would never shade Olivia Rodrigo," Lizzo posted. "I think she's amazing. Maybe I'll stop interacting with Stan accounts so there's no confusion - I need Twitter to give y'all a orange check or something."

BITCH, Lizzo's fifth studio album, is set for release on Friday 5 June 2026.

Nobody Wants This continues to make headlines, with Erin Foster's critically acclaimed Netflix comedy series currently filming its highly-anticipated third season.

The award-winning series stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as sex podcaster Joanne and rabbi Noah, as the unlikely couple and their families navigate their unorthodox relationship.

It was the season three cast that got the world talking recently, as some new Nobody Wants This guest stars were confirmed.

And joining Sarah Silverman, Andrew Rannells and Keyla Monterroso Mejia was one surprising new A-list addition, show creator Erin Foster herself.

Foster, who has appeared in The OC, Barely Famous and Daddy Issues among others, will be guest starring in season three as new character Nicole, described by Netflix as "a terminally single, chaotic, and somewhat messy person. She’s Joanne if everything had gone wrong in her life."

This will be Foster's first appearance in the show, with the 43-year-old writing the series based on her own relationship and conversion to Judaism.

And as an actress herself, Foster has previously revealed that before Kristen Bell came onboard, she actually wrote the lead role of Joanne for herself.

"I wanted an actress who would fall into it in a really relaxed, natural way," Foster has recalled in a previous interview with Harper’s Bazaar. "And from our first meeting at Netflix, after they bought the idea, immediately for them, it was like, ‘It’s Kristen Bell no matter what.’ They have worked with her many times before, and they are obsessed with her. They love her."

"We had a meeting, and she was so respectful, nice, and complimentary, and she very clearly, very quickly said, 'Erin, I know you wrote this for yourself to be in. I’m not comfortable taking this role away from you'," Foster continued. "And I said, 'Well, first of all, it doesn’t sound like I really have a choice, so let’s do this.'

"I said to her, ‘The truth is, I want to be a mum. I’m trying to get pregnant, and that’s really my life focus right now, becoming a mum,'" she added. "I don’t want to be sitting in a hair and make-up trailer at 5am. I was really trying to get pregnant, and I knew that those two things happening at the same time wasn’t going to work. And worth a reported £2.5 million in 2018, its four acres featured a main house, a converted barn with two kitchens and a two-bedroom cottage for visitors.

The royal couple is reported to have stayed at the property while renovations at their official home, Frogmore Cottage, were being carried out.

And according to sources via The Sun, Harry and Meghan loved to host their A-list friends including George and Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, and Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas "in complete solitude".

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were forced to leave Westfield Large in May 2019 after paparazzi photographs of the inside of their home were published, posing a security threat.

"The syndication and publication of the photographs very seriously undermined the safety and security of the Duke and the home to the extent that they are no longer able to live at the property," the royal family announced in a statement at the time.

These are the six rules to live by when it comes to not enduring but acing your next airport journey.

Find Your Favourite Suitcase

Luggage is luggage, right? Not necessarily. From the weight of its shell to its lining, everyone has different specifications when it comes to suitcases. For influencer Michelle Lin, it's Antler, which has light hard shell designs as well as expandable options. "It’s so practical and chic at the same time," Lin says about her trusty cabin bag. Amalie Gassmann's pick is Away. "I have been using them for years! They roll smoothly and, for someone who checks more than one suitcase, they are light and practical." Marie Claire's Fashion Director Lily Russo-Bah recently discovered Australian label July and I'm obsessed. "The Checked Trunk suitcase has a more traditional 80/20 opening, which means one side is deeper and actually fits on a standard luggage stand in a hotel room. I often find myself putting my suitcase on my crisp white bed sheets in order to often it up fully, which is far from ideal or hygienic."

Streamline Your Toiletries

Whether you're packing a cabin-bag only or multiple suitcases, you always need to start with as little weight as possible. Gassmann's tip is to streamline your toiletries; "skincare products add so much weight," she says, adding that her solution is to "pack what is almost done and samples". Pureseoul, the famous home of K-Beauty, actually has a dedicated minis section; the perfect destination for picking up lotions and potions in 50ml bottles. Meanwhile, retailers such as Marks & Spencer offer dedicated summer beauty bags filled with everything from body cream to shampoo, conditioner, suncream and more — perfect for short getaways without having to pack your entire bathroom cabinet.

Pack In Strategic Outfits

Some travellers like conjuring an outfit from their suitcase with spontaneity but, in my experience, it's more expedient by far to pack in outfits, using tonal colours. You don't have to stick religiously to your strategy but it just means you'll naturally trim any fat. "I always think in outfits rather than individual pieces," says Hatt, who tends to lay everything out before packing. "If something doesn’t work in at least two outfits, it’s usually out." This makes so much sense; you don't want to pack a pair of trousers, say, that you know will only get one wear.

Don't Reach Capacity

If you hit your weight limit of 23kg, that might cause you a headache if you buy any souvenirs (even a fridge magnet or novelty shot glass could tip you over the edge). And anyway, utilitising your suitcase without stuffing each side will give you space, physically and perhaps even metaphysically. " I like to give my clothes space to breathe," says Hatt, who also, on the subject of expedient packing, always packs a spare dust bag for laundry.

Dust bags or zip up pouches are similarly great for keeping things organised if you're not into the idea of packing cubes, although don't knock them until you've tried them (Antler's come in sets of four, all of which can fit inside its medium suitcase, as well as six).

Prepare For All Temperatures On Board

Most fliers have their own definition of "the perfect outfit". The only non-negotiable is layers in case of temperature fluctuations. "I find myself wearing a comfy tee and a pair of loose drawstring linen trousers on long flights most of the time, plus a jumper to carry over my shoulders," says Lin. "Walking in the airport always makes me so warm, then being on the flight could be absolutely freezing. I find this outfit combo can easily adapt to any quick change of temperature!" Everyone's layers are different though. "I like to be comfortable but still feel like myself which is usually a black pant, a knit sweater, ballerinas and a scarf, as well as a long coat!" says Gassmann, who also puts some thought into what to wear in order to save as much space as possible in her luggage. "Jackets take so much space," she laments, adding: "I usually wear my heaviest one to the airport and pack an evening blazer that will go with a lot of looks!"

Prepare Your Inflight Essentials

Your full skincare regimen whilst in transit might be overkill, but a few choice products, will save space and are small enough to carry onboard, especially to counter the effects of dehydration (as well as, obviously, drinking water). "Hydration is the focus so a good moisturiser, from The Ordinary, and Vaseline, as my lip balm, are go-tos. I don’t tend to do anything elaborate, just enough to feel a bit more like myself when I land," says Hatt.

Two Weeks in August is a dark comedy and psychological drama series, written by Catherine Shepherd.

The eight episode mini-series follows a group of friends from University who reunite years later for a summer holiday in Greece.

However, with a lot changing since their University days, cracks and tensions in relationships and friendships come to the surface, and their paradise quickly becomes a nightmare.

"There's a real hopefulness about booking a nice villa somewhere and thinking everyone's going to have a great time together," explained Antonia Thomas, who plays Jess in the series, via BBC. "But people change. They're not the same people they were 10 years ago.

"It becomes a kind of pressure cooker," she continued. "Everyone falls back into old roles, even if they don't fit anymore."

The 'British' White Lotus

People have already made comparisons between Two Weeks in August and HBO's The White Lotus, with both shows following picture-perfect holidays gone wrong.

However, in a recent interview with the Royal Television Society, Catherine Shepherd explained that there are also many differences between them.

"The White Lotus is about people who are super rich", she stated, explaining that Two Weeks in August instead follows "relatively normal people with normal concerns".

She was actually reportedly inspired by Ruben Östlund’s black comedies Force Majeure and Triangle of Sadness, stating: "I hope – in my dreams – we have made something a bit like that, which has cinematic epicness but is also funny."

It has been five years since the release of the last James Bond film, No Time To Die. And with Daniel Craig officially hanging up his tuxedo, there have long been rumours around who will take up the mantle.

This week, it was confirmed that casting for the iconic role is officially in progress, with renowned casting director Nina Gold hired to find the next 007 with director Denis Villeneuve.

"The search for the next James Bond is under way," a spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios announced in a recent statement.

"While we don't plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we're excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right."

According to multiple outlets, auditions have already started, with numerous A-listers said to have tried out for the role in recent weeks.

But who are the rumoured frontrunners? From Callum Turner to Jacob Elordi, these are six of the names that are reportedly being considered...

Callum Turner

Callum Turner, 36, has long been considered one of the James Bond frontrunners, with a well-placed source reportedly telling The Times that "there is a lot of talk about [the English actor]".

Turner is famed for his television and film work, starring in Eternity, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Emma, Queen & Country and War & Peace, among others. He is also engaged to Grammy award winning singer Dua Lipa.

Jacob Elordi

Jacob Elordi, 28, is also considered to be a "favourite" for the iconic role, with the Oscar-nominated actor currently at his career peak - starring in Wuthering Heights, Euphoria and Frankenstein in the last year.

The Australian actor has also allegedly met with James Bond director Denis Villeneuve and Amazon executives in recent months, fuelling rumours that he is in consideration.

Jack Lowden

Jack Lowden, 35, is also rumoured to be in the running to play James Bond, with the Scottish actor known for his work across the stage and screen.

He has famously starred in Slow Horses, War & Peace, Mary Queen of Scots, Dunkirk and Fighting with my Family. Not to mention, he is set to play Mr Darcy in the highly-anticipated Dolly Alderton remake of Pride and Prejudice later this year. Louis Partridge

Louis Partridge is a relatively new entry to the rumoured James Bond considerations, and at just 23-years-old he would be the youngest 007 in history.

The English actor has starred in major projects including Enola Holmes, Paddington 2 and Pride and Prejudice. However, his breakthrough role has undoubtedly been Netflix's 2025 historical drama, House of Guinness, written by Steven Knight. And with Knight officially coming onboard to write the next James Bond film, fans believe Partridge could be a strong contender.

Harris Dickinson

Harris Dickinson, 29, has been surrounded by a lot of James Bond speculation in recent months, with the English actor widely considered to be a strong contender.

The Bafta-nominated actor has starred in major Hollywood projects including Babygirl, Where the Crawdads Sing, Blitz and The King's Man. Not to mention the forthcoming Beatles biopics, with Dickinson cast as John Lennon in the four upcoming films.

Tom Francis

Tom Francis, 26, is a new contender, with Variety reporting just days ago that he had auditioned to be the next James Bond.

The English actor has appeared in films including The Mosquito Bowl and Jay Kelly, as well as the final season of Netflix's YOU. However, he is most known for his work on the stage, appearing in & Juliet, What's New Pussycat? and Sunset Boulevard, going on to win a Laurence Olivier Best Actor award for the role.

The next James Bond actor will be the seventh in history, coming after Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and of course Daniel Craig.

The 328-year-old property has been described as the family's "forever home", with the Grade II-listed Georgian-style estate featuring eight bedrooms, marble fireplaces and Venetian windows. As well as a tennis court, stables and a lake, set on 4,800 acres of Windsor Great Park.

This is something royal expert Emily Nash opened up about this week, reporting that the future King and Queen are unlikely to change their minds about Buckingham Palace, and confirming that Forest Lodge is their "forever home".

"When they left London for Windsor, William and Kate made it clear that they were doing it so their children could have more green space and freedom," reported Nash, HELLO!’s royal editor. "That won’t change, and they have since made it very clear that Forest Lodge will be their 'forever home.'

"While Buckingham Palace will always remain 'monarchy HQ,' for now, they want to keep as much normality for their family, and that means not living in a palace or a castle," she continued. "It’s hard to see that changing anytime soon."

The White Lotus is already the most talked-about show of 2026, with Mike White's highly-anticipated fourth season in the works.

And with the next instalment of the HBO show set at the Cannes Film Festival, filming is currently underway across Paris, Monaco and the French Riviera.

This has not been without its challenges, with A-list actress Helena Bonham Carter officially leaving the series last month, just one week into filming.

According to a spokesperson for The White Lotus, the character that "Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align once on set" after filming the first few scenes. And a decision was subsequently made to rewrite and recast the role.

"HBO, the producers and Mike White are saddened that they won’t get to work with her, but remain ardent fans and very much hope to work with the legendary actress on another project soon," the spokesperson continued.

Echoing the statement was also actor and comedian Steve Coogan, who is set to star in The White Lotus season four.

Coogan, 60, was filming alongside Bonham Carter before her exit from the show. And during his recent appearance at the TV BAFTAs, he confirmed that the story went in a "different direction" after finding that it wasn't "working".

"It was like, sometimes you find that something isn't working the way you want it to, in terms of, like, the character and the dynamic of the whole story," Coogan explained to Deadline of the situation. "So that was just a mutual decision. The whole part was rewritten from scratch."

It has since been confirmed that Big Little Lies star Laura Dern will be replacing Bonham Carter on the show.

The 59-year-old actress has already appeared in the show, playing the minor voice role of Abby, the estranged wife of Dominic Di Grasso, played by Michael Imperioli in season two.

There is not yet an official release date for The White Lotus season four.

Bravo has been in Cannes to attend the premiere of his new film, La Vénus Electrique, at the 79th annual festival. And in a video shared by Paris Match, he was accompanied by Barone, with the pair reportedly engaging in public displays of affection at the Carlton Cannes, and on a separate night out in the resort city.

According to eyewitness reports via DeuxMoi, the pair was reportedly seen "making out" at an after-party, with the source calling Bravo and Barone "quite the unexpected pair."

Netflix is believed to have signed on for the project, with No Way Out's release being part of the royal couple's new deal with the streaming platform.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Archewell Productions' Tracy Ryerson will be producing the adaptation, and Oscar-nominated Bridge of Spies writer Matt Charman will reportedly be coming onboard to create the script.

Blake Lively continues to make headlines, with this month seeing the Gossip Girl star reach a settlement with her It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni, following a lengthy legal battle.

Lively, 38, accused her director and co-star, 42, of sexual harassment on set, and for allegedly coordinating a smear campaign against her, filing a legal complaint in December 2024. Baldoni has denied the allegations.

A trial for Lively v Wayfarer Studios was officially set for 18 May 2026, however following a year and a half of public legal drama, a settlement was reached last week.

Lively herself has not spoken publicly since the news of the legal settlement. However, her husband of 14 years Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram this weekend to post a rare tribute to her.

"I appreciate this mother beyond measure," read the sweet message, posted to his Instagram Stories on Sunday to mark US Mother's Day.

"She is kind. She is fearless," his post continued, alongside two photographs of the A-list couple. "She's the absolute love of my life - and to our four little kids, she's the life of their love."

Lively and Reynolds share four children together - James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 3.

This comes after another public statement from Reynolds just last month, with the Deadpool actor speaking out to praise his wife's "integrity" throughout the legal battle.

This, according to Christopher Andersen, started early on, with Princess Kate reportedly putting her foot down and changing outdated protocol when necessary.

And while Prince George was ultimately born at 4.24pm on 22 July 2013 at St Mary's Hospital's Lindo Wing, the royal family did not issue an official press release until that evening, allowing four hours for the young family to celebrate in private.

And from Swift's rumoured bachelorette plans to the star-studded guest list with even the Prince and Princess of Wales predicted to receive an invitation, the long-awaited nuptials are all anyone can talk about.

It is the privacy measures around Swift and Kelce's New York wedding that have garnered the most attention, with sources reporting that the A-list couple are keeping the exact location of their nuptials under wraps.

The Beckham family's relationship with the Peltz Beckhams continues to dominate the headlines, with Brooklyn, 27, confirming a fallout in a public statement in January 2026.

"I do not want to reconcile with my family," the Cloud23 founder wrote in an explosive social media post, following years of speculated tensions. "I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."

The shock statement focused on 'Brand Beckham', with Brooklyn accusing his parents of controlling narratives about their family in the press and valuing "public promotion and endorsements above all else".

An off-calendar catwalk show in a far-flung location is often associated with high fashion—your Chanels, your Diors—but, as of last night, Marks & Spencer flipped the script, live-streaming its inaugural runway from the island of Ibiza. And that's not all. The high-street stalwart already caused a sensation earlier this year when it announced a very special appointment: Gillian Anderson, and whose campaign went on to become the highest-performing M&S Clothing ad ever tested by System1, a marketing effectiveness company that measures the impact of advertising campaigns.

As Anderson is unavailable to compère, as it were, M&S has found a game replacement in everyone’s favourite date, Amelia Dimoldenberg, who is none other than the general manager of Casa del Compliments, M&S’s home away from home and the location for its show—described as “a home of confidence and connection”.

M&S has always been a high-street hero, but what it's managed to do, in an economic climate that is challenging many retailers, is build on its customer base's goodwill, with marketing nous and product that is not only desirable but affordable too, with half the womenswear summer collection £30 or under.

My most stylish friends know that you don't just buy pants, and Percy Pigs, at M&S. Its suede loafers, with the gathered edge that was very Saint Laurent-coded, were almost impossible to get on your hands. Ditto its retro sneakers; which achieved the streamlined cut of something by Miu Miu. Coupled with its penny-bazaar heritage dating back to 1884, as well as its ability to be an uncontroversial bastion of Britishness, M&S seems to have recovered from its own annus horribilis in 2025, after a disastrous cyber attack.

It's also managed to maintain its sense of humour, hence its fashion show being a personable affair instead of something po-faced. Personable might not do justice, in fact, to Dimoldenberg. As the press release states, with just a hint of mirth, "From keeping a close eye on guest satisfaction to making sure nothing goes unnoticed, she’ll be everywhere. [...] Bringing her unmistakable warmth, wit and wholehearted commitment to every corner of the Casa, Amelia will put compliments firmly centre stage." "Love that" is not just a throwaway remark but the whole trip's mantra, extending into the warmer months, which, at least in the world of M&S, are tantamount not so much to a "summer of love" but a "summer of love that". (It also follows the "Love That Drop", which launched earlier this season to much acclaim).

This British sense of humour is charming, but it wouldn’t be as successful if the product didn’t stand up. Womenswear Director Maddy Evans, who is credited with driving the retailer’s fashion transformation since taking on the role in 2022, has done the impossible: she has made M&S a genuine high-street competitor for trend-driven customers without alienating its existing base. From the considered fabrics and easy fit of many styles to the additional details and embellishments—and, most crucially, the inclusive size range—ticking all these boxes is no mean feat.

Whether you're looking out for some new swimwear, coverups or easy summer dresses to take you from the school drop-off to the office, followed by a rooftop evening, this summer, you can now shop at M&S for all of the above.

With live shopping also being a recent trend, and over 1/3 of customers looking to social media and influencers they follow for inspiration, another canny move is for customers to both watch, and buy, in real time during the streaming of the show.

Being future-facing, while still embracing its heritage as everyone's favourite shop to "pop" into for posh biscuits ahead of your in-laws visiting or to browse magazines, is what sets the brand apart from others. The first Monday in May, also known as the Met Gala, is perhaps my favourite day of the year. A walk down Park Avenue (if you're brave enough) reveals swarms of paparazzi are stationed outside every hotel on the Upper East Side, and stealthy celebs sneaking around behind entourages of black umbrellas. And inside those hotel suites? That's where the glamour really happens.

With the year's theme, "Costume Art," and an accompanying dress code "Fashion is Art," the beauty looks were almost pre-determined to be above and beyond. Which, candidly, is exactly what beauty should always be. That being said, it's The Met. So the glam packed an extra punch.

As celebrities, singers, socialites, and fashion fixtures make their way to The Met, the Marie Claire US Beauty Team reports in real-time on the best beauty looks of the evening. Here are our favourite glam moments of the event.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter continues to reign as the soft glam queen. Her glowy skin, paired with champagne shimmer eyes, and a glossy nude lip was made even better by that sculpted vintage bob and crystal-draped headpiece.

Anne Hathaway

The Devil Wears Prada 2 star falls in line with a slew of celebrities rocking a smoked out eye. The perfect ballerina bun let's the shadow shine.

Emma Chamberlain

Emma Chamberlain never, ever disappoints at the Met Gala. She's not going to play it safe at a big event. Case in point? This matte, gothic glam, made even edgier with a platinum pixie and bleached eyebrows.

Ashley Graham

If I do say so myself, Marie Claire US picked a particularly fashionable Motherhood cover star. The model arrived at the red carpet with wet-looking hair (I'll never get tired of this look), and incredibly fresh and dewy glam. Can we also talk about the glow on her clavicle?

Gothic glam is shaping up to be a big trend for the evening. This smokey eye and dusty rose lip is just complete perfection. And this finger waved bixie? Dare I say it's even better?

I knew the 2026 Met Gala red carpet best-dressed list would be a challenge to narrow down. It's partially the guest list's fault: The only other time names like Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Zoë Kravitz are in the same room, it's the Oscars or the Grammys—and those carpets don't host nearly as many VIPs at once. But the real culprit in making my job as Marie Claire US's senior fashion editor a tough one is the 2026 Met Gala dress code.

To correspond with this year's Costume Institute exhibit, "Costume Art," the co-chairs asked guests to consider "Fashion Is Art" their guiding styling principle. This guaranteed a Met Gala red carpet best-dressed list full of artistry and exquisite detail—but definitely not a universal interpretation of the evening's defining theme. Some guests focused on the exhibit's emphasis on celebrating the ties between the anatomical human form and art (hello, Beyonce's subversive naked dress); others tapped their favourite designers for stroke-for-stroke recreations of pieces first created on a painting's canvas. Sabrina Carpenter abandoned paintings and sculptures entirely, instead putting her spin on Old Hollywood with a Dior dress literally crafted from film. Then there's Rihanna: the latest Met Gala red carpet entry who shut down the event in a Maison Margiela gown so gilded, it would make Gustav Klimt's "Woman in Gold" jealous.

After spending hours poring over every Met Gala red-carpet arrival, I can say the following 14 looks are living works of art. Catch up on each of Marie Claire's picks for best-dressed below.

Beyoncé wearing custom Olivier Rousteing

She's baaaaaack! Beyoncé's return to the Met Gala red carpet after a ten-year hiatus would have earned a best-dressed ranking no matter what she wore. Still, Marie Claire's fashion editors were speechless when the singer pulled up in a custom Olivier Rousteing creation resembling a bedazzled skeleton, topped by an extra-long feather cape.

The sheer level of sparkle—and Beyoncé's arrival with husband Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy—is headline-worthy on their own. But as the co-chair explained in her official red carpet interview, there's more meaning than a dazzling first impression. Beyoncé said she chose to work with Rousteing given the many times he's championed her music over the years, from custom tour outfits to designing her Black Is King costumes. As for the skeleton motif? It's her way of "celebrating whatever God gave you." Amen to that.

Nicole Kidman wearing Chanel

Nicole Kidman didn't need to comb through the Met's vast archives for a red carpet reference. Instead, she and stylist Jason Bolden tapped Matthieu Blazy's Chanel for a bespoke dress that suggested she is the work of art. Vogue says the bright red sequins are a nod to "the Big Apple," aka the setting for tonight's major event. Between the fiery shade and the sequins pouring over her frame like liquid, I'd say the real homage is to Kidman herself—owning her seventh Met Gala red carpet like she belongs on display.

Doechii wearing Marc Jacobs

Don't mistake Doechii's second-ever Met Gala red carpet look for just another twist on the naked dress. Working with Marc Jacobs, the star took a definitive turn from last year's glamouratti Gucci suit while staying true to her style DNA. "I wanted to go with something human and grounded," she explained of the sinuous purple wrap—and the unexpected move to go barefoot.

Zoë Kravitz wearing Saint Laurent

Zoë Kravitz has worn several Met Gala red-carpet dresses designed by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent. But this year's took her penchant for semi-sheer dressing in a refreshingly new direction, mixing a Victorian pannier skirt with decidedly modern, see-through lace. If this is a hint at the newly-engaged Kravitz's bridal style, I'm here for it. (If only she'd let us glimpse her diamond engagement ring on the carpet...)

Sabrina Carpenter wearing Dior

Turns out, "Sabrinawood" wasn't just a Coachella costuming phase—it was a hint at the pop star's upcoming 2026 Met Gala red carpet dress. Sabrina Carpenter and stylist Jared Ellner reunited with Dior for one of the night's most personalized twists on the "Fashion Is Art" dress code. Carpenter's glossy gown is actually constructed from rows and rows of film, all pulled from the 1954 Audrey Hepburn classic Sabrina.

Emma Chamberlain wearing custom Mugler

Emma Chamberlain was the first guest to arrive at the 2026 Met Gala red carpet, and the first to ace the theme. She teamed up with Mugler creative director Miguel Castro Freitas on a gown resembling a palette mid-painting session. The skirt's layers (and layers!) of chiffon paid homage to the process of creating art as much as the finished project—which, in Chamberlain's case, could easily go on display. Later on in the evening, this gown transformed into a neat, knee-length sheath.

Chase Sui Wonders wearing McQueen

A Met Gala red carpet debut becomes part of a star's fashion legacy. Chase Sui Wonders decided hers with this regal McQueen dress. It toes the line between red carpet risk-taking and gala benefit elegance, thanks to its semi-sheer fabric and artful, oversized bow perched on her shoulder.

Teyana Taylor wearing Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann

Some of the gowns on our best-dressed list celebrated art that froze a moment in time. Teyana Taylor, on the other hand, decided to emphasize the body in motion with her fringed Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann dress. The silver tinsel poured off her dress and matching cap like liquid metal—and as she swished up the Met Gala steps, I couldn't help wishing for a slow-mo video of her ascent.

Laufey wearing Tory Burch

Sometimes, you need a dose of minimalism amid the Met Gala fashion madness. Grammy-winner Laufey made the best-dressed list by setting aside her usual retro style and honing in on a streamlined, almost bridal Tory Burch dress. It's woven from a cream-and-silver brocade, with a matching drawstring bag. She's the calm in the Met Gala storm—and inspo for brides-to-be up and down the red carpet.

Alex Consani wearing Gucci

Plenty of stars interpreted the "Fashion Is Art" dress code to mean half-undressing on the Met Gala red carpet, including both Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. But supermodel-on-the-rise Alex Consani is the one whose take deserves a second shout-out here. Her Gucci dress is Demna's first Met Gala creation for the house, one that brought the same zest as Consani's signature backstage soundbites. Her description? "A lot of feathers, a lot of tinsel, a lot of energy." I felt it even through the screen.

Hailey Bieber wearing Saint Laurent

I know, I know: Hailey Bieber and Saint Laurent have been Met Gala dates for several years now. But it's worth commending the Rhode mogul for branching out of her LBD mold and into something more experimental: a golden breastplate set against a skirt and chiffon cape drenched in archival YSL "majorelle" blue. If the armour up top looks like it's precisely fit to Bieber's measurements, that's because it's a bit of red carpet metallurgy magic: "It's a real sculpting to my body," she confirmed.

Paloma Elsesser wearing Bureau of Imagination by Francesco Risso

It takes a true fashion insider like Paloma Elsesser to do the homework on a noteworthy Met Gala red-carpet gown. To make this year's best-dressed list, she and Francesco Risso of Bureau of Imagination didn't settle for simply cutting a piece of fabric. Together, she said, "We sourced from eBay using 100 dresses from the 20s, 30s, and 40s." Given all the work that went into constructing it, "I am so proud to wear this," Elsesser said.

Chase Infiniti wearing Thom Browne

Presenting another Met Gala red carpet debut attendee who's making the best-dressed list on her first try. Armed with styling duo Wayman + Micah and the surrealist paint strokes of her Thom Browne dress, One Battle After Another and The Testaments breakout star Chase Infiniti proved her run of awards season red carpets was just the start of cementing her fashion legacy.

Rihanna wearing Maison Margiela by Glenn Martens

Some Met Gala best-dressed entries are better late than never, Rihanna's most of all. After the livestream had officially wrapped, the Fenty Beauty mogul departed from her hotel in a crinkly Maison Margiela by Glenn Martens Fall 2025 look. In a previous interview with Marie Claire, Martens told us he designs with the intention of getting people to do a double take—wondering what the hell, exactly, they're looking at. The reigning queen of the Met Gala definitely upheld Martens's very specific legacy in her metallic cocoon, which unfolded to reveal a bodice absolutely dripping with embellishments.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is finally here, with the highly-anticipated sequel hitting cinemas this month.

And following a blockbuster press tour, everything from Anna Wintour's surprising input to Anne Hathaway shutting down misinformation around the sequel has been going viral.

It is the star-studded cast list that has of course been making the most headlines, with The Devil Wears Prada 2 seeing Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci return to their iconic characters.

However, the original casting considerations for The Devil Wears Prada resurfaced this week, and it turns out that multiple A-list names were being considered for the three leading roles.

Andy Sachs casting considerations

Anne Hathaway, who stars in the franchise as Andy Sachs, has previously opened up about her casting, confirming that she was actually the ninth choice for the role.

Claire Danes, Kirsten Dunst, Juliette Lewis, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are all known to have auditioned for the part, with Kate Hudson even turning down an official offer.

So too did Rachel McAdams, with the Mean Girls actress widely reported to have been the producers' first choice. But despite being offered the part three times, she declined to work on the project.

"I felt guilty for not capitalizing on the opportunity that I was being given, because I knew I was in such a lucky spot," McAdams reflected of the situation in a 2023 interview with Bustle. "But I also knew it wasn’t quite jiving with my personality and what I needed to stay sane.

"There were definitely some anxious moments of wondering if I was just throwing it all away, and why was I doing that?," she continued. "It’s taken years to understand what I intuitively was doing."

Miranda Priestly casting considerations

Meryl Streep was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal as Runway editor in chief, Miranda Priestly. But according to reports, her casting wasn't immediate, with multiple Hollywood heavyweights considered for the role.

These included Glenn Close, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Michelle Pfeiffer. However, producers have reportedly claimed that Streep was always their first choice.

Nigel Kipling casting considerations

The role of Runway's creative director Nigel Kipling appears to have been the most difficult character to cast, with Stanley Tucci only hired three days before filming.

And before securing the part, he was reportedly up against major names, including Carson Kressley, Thomas Lennon, Denis Leary and TV presenter Graham Norton.

Romeo + Juliet star John Leguizamo has even revealed that he was officially offered the part, but he turned it down - a decision that he has called one of his biggest career regrets.

• Nicola Coughlan has confirmed that she will play a reduced role in Bridgerton season five, announcing on Dish from Waitrose that she "won't be in it very much".
• "I have it so good now ’cause I come in for a few days and I’m like, ‘Yay! How is everyone? I’ll see you in two months. Bye!'," admitted Coughlan, who stars in the series as Penelope Featherington. "They’re working super, super hard."
• Bridgerton season five is predicted for release in 2027.

Bridgerton season five is officially in production, with filming for the Netflix show's highly-anticipated next instalment underway. And from predicted release dates to new cast additions, the high profile project has been going viral.

The Regency drama's fifth instalment will adapt When He Was Wicked, the sixth novel from Julia Quinn's collection, starring Hannah Dodd as Francesca Bridgerton and Masali Baduza as Michaela Stirling.

As always, the new season will also see the return of the wider ensemble cast, with Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Luke Thompson, Yerin Ha and Claudia Jessie among those returning as the Bridgerton family.

Also joining them will be Nicola Coughlan, the undoubted star of the series, playing Penelope Featherington, aka gossip columnist Lady Whistledown.

However, in a recent interview, Coughlan admitted that she will be playing a reduced role in season five, with the 39-year-old busy across multiple projects.

In 2026 alone, Coughlan has starred in The Magic Faraway Tree, GOAT and Big Mood season two, even hosting Saturday Night Live UK last week.

And during her appearance on Dish from Waitrose, she confirmed that she will subsequently be taking a step back in Bridgerton.

"Season five has started filming already, so I won’t be in it very much. But I'm always happy to come back," Coughlan told hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett.

"I have it so good now ’cause I come in for a few days and I’m like, ‘Yay! How is everyone? I’ll see you in two months. Bye!'," she explained. "They’re working super, super hard and I’m just like coming back. It’s lovely."

Coughlan is not the only star to move into more of a background role, with Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley scaling back their screen time while remaining a constant in the Bridgerton universe.

"I think [Bailey] set a great example, of I guess for a better word, the loyalty to the show," Ashley explained recently during her appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast.

"It is a show about family and returning home and returning to the family and I think a lot of people follow that suit," she continued. "I particularly learned a lot from that example. And now when we go back, there is that environment of coming home and feeling like we're part of a family.

"I can only comment on what me and Johnny have done," she added. "And that is, we just really make sure that our schedules can just make it work."

The Prince and Princess of Wales continue to make headlines. And from the change to the royal couple's roles in 2026, to the emotional shifts for their family behind palace walls, they have been front and centre.

It is their relationship that gets the world talking the most, with the future King and Queen celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary last month. And in the weeks since, royal experts have been sharing anecdotes from the couple's decades-long relationship.

This included details from their 2007 break up, with royal expert Russell Myers speaking out about the couple's time apart in his 2026 release, William and Catherine: The Monarchy's New Era: The Inside Story.

"In March 2007, William and Catherine, who had barely seen each other since Christmas, were pictured decked out in matching tweed, appearing frosty with each other at the Cheltenham horse racing festival. Sources claimed the relationship had 'soured beyond repair'," reads a segment of the book, alleging that Kate had given William an "ultimatum".

The separation, Myers reported, had left Prince William "more than just crestfallen," with the future King "worried about whether he was throwing away the one constant in his life."

And after he visited the Queen, his grandmother's idea to "judge his mood," it was clear that "he was, according to one well-placed source, 'completely broken'."

"In that moment the Queen advised her grandson that the only certain path is the one supported by faith," the source continued. "It was all she had to say.

"They came back clear that they would face the future together," the source reflected. "That's all Catherine had ever wanted and now that William was fully on board and recognised that it was not solely about him, everything seemed to fall into place."

The Crown was one of the most popular TV shows of recent years, with the critically acclaimed Netflix series following the royal family and particularly the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

The six seasons spanned Queen Elizabeth's accession to the throne in 1952, to her guiding the next generation of royals into the millennium, with the series ending in the early 2000s.

However, since the TV show's 2023 finale, the royal family has become even more front and centre. And from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's step away from royal life, to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's recent arrest, there have been calls for the TV show to return with another season.

Now, the Netflix gods appear to have answered, with sources reporting that The Crown show creators are returning for a brand new spin-off show.

According to "a well-placed source" via the Daily Mail's Richard Eden, "Netflix has been locked in negotiations with the company for quite a long time about this spin-off series, but they've recently finally managed to seal the deal and come to an agreement."

However, it will not be the instalment that fans are expecting, with Eden reporting that the spin-off series "will span the period from Queen Victoria’s death in 1901 to the wedding of the then Princess Elizabeth in 1947."

"Peter Morgan had already been putting pen to pad," Eden continued of the prequel season, adding that "casting is expected to take place next year."

It is not known whether The Crown will ever return to depict the current royal family. However, show creator Peter Morgan has previously spoken out about his 20-year rule, suggesting that a modern season would be a long way off.

"I don't know where in the scheme of things Prince Andrew or indeed Meghan Markle or Harry will ever appear," Morgan explained to the Hollywood Reporter back in 2020. "We won't know, and you need time to stop something from being journalistic. And so I don't want to write about them because to write about them would instantly make it journalistic.

"I just think you get so much more interesting [with time]," he continued. "Meghan and Harry are in the middle of their journey, and I don't know what their journey is or how it will end. One wishes some happiness, but I'm much more comfortable writing about things that happened at least 20 years ago. I sort of have in my head a 20-year rule. That is enough time and enough distance to really understand something, to understand its role, to understand its position, to understand its relevance."

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is dominating the headlines, with the highly-anticipated sequel hitting cinemas this week.

And from the star-studded cast list - Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci among others, to Anna Wintour's surprising input, the 2026 release is already the most talked-about film of the year.

It was a change to the sequel that garnered the most attention this month, with Meryl Streep revealing that Anne Hathaway insisted upon more inclusive models being used in the film.

According to the 76-year-old actress, Hathaway "made a beeline" for producers while they were filming at Milan Fashion Week. And after seeing the "alarmingly thin" models, she secured "assurances" from the producers that the models featured in The Devil Wears Prada 2 would look healthy.

"[I was] struck by how not only beautiful and young – but alarmingly thin the models were," Streep recalled of the experience to Harper's Bazaar. "I thought that all had been addressed years ago.

"Annie clocked it too," she added. "She made a beeline to the producers about it, securing promises that the models in the show that we were putting together for our film would not be so skeletal. She’s a stand-up girl."

"I had noticed that we had beautiful models on set, and a lot of them were more traditionally model-sized," Hathaway added, when asked about the situation by Variety at The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere.

"I knew what the context of the scene was, and I thought the scene would be so much more enjoyable for the audience if we had just a wider range of bodies on display, because all different shapes are beautiful.

"I just went to the producers and I asked that question: ‘Don’t you think the scene would be stronger if we had a more inclusive approach to sizing?'" she continued. "They looked up and were so sad that they hadn’t thought about it. I think they were so locked in, just kind of going with the flow. But as soon as they saw it, they were the ones who made it happen in like an hour."

Reports around Hathaway's change to the film have gone viral, with rumours spreading that size zero models had lost their jobs as a result. And during her recent appearance on Good Morning America, Hathaway spoke out about the situation to clear up the "misinformation".

"It was just this kind of quick thing that happened on set and now it’s become a much bigger story," the actress explained. "I do want to mention there’s a little misinformation getting out there right now that people were fired because of the size inclusivity and that just didn’t happen," she continued. "Nobody lost their jobs, in fact, it created more jobs.

"It’s so hard because I can’t say what the scene is about," she added. "But there’s a song that Lady Gaga wrote and it’s a beautiful, amazing song. Isn’t it better when you see so many different types of bodies up there with that?"

"I’m not asking for people to become my fan and like me because that’s not normal," Keoghan continued. "I’m asking for people to stop assuming and also stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me and dragging me down in any way you can. I’m not saying this for pity. Why is it cool to hop on and beat someone up?"

This is not the first time that Keoghan has spoken out about the online abuse he has received, with the actor previously opening up about his decision to step away from the internet.

"People are so lovely out there [but] there’s also a nasty side of it," the Peaky Blinders star told SiriusXM earlier this year. "And I’ve removed myself from online, but I’m still a curious human being that wants to go on. And if I attend an event or if I go somewhere, you want to see how it was received. And it’s not nice, you know?

"There’s a lot of hate online," he added. "There’s a lot of abuse of how I look, and it’s kind of past the point of, ‘Everyone goes through that.’ And everyone does, but it’s made me shy away. It’s made me really go inside myself, not want to attend places, not want to go outside. And I say this being absolute pure and honest to you – it’s becoming a problem."

Anne Hathaway is in her sequel era, with the 43-year-old actress hitting screens this week in The Devil Wears Prada 2. And coming almost 20 years after the original, the highly-anticipated release is dominating the headlines.

However, it was another one of Hathaway's upcoming sequels that got the world talking this weekend, as fans shifted their focus to The Princess Diaries 3.

Disney first announced that The Princess Diaries would be getting a third instalment last year, 24 years after the original and 21 years after Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

And with Crazy Rich Asians director Adele Lim officially signing on to the project, Hathaway, who stars in the franchise as Mia Thermopalis, posted the news to Instagram. "Miracles happen," she captioned the update. "Back to Genovia... the fairy tale continues."

However, despite the ongoing excitement, and even an open casting call published by Lim, progress on the long-awaited sequel appears to have slowed down.

This is something that Hathaway spoke out about this week, giving a major update on The Princess Diaries 3 during her TDWP2 press tour. And unfortunately for fans, it looks like the sequel could be a long way off.

"One hundred percent, we’re constantly working on it," Hathaway told Entertainment Weekly of the project, revealing that they are "chipping away" at the script.

"[The Devil Wears Prada 2] cropped up unexpectedly and took over the space," she continued, explaining that "it became impossible to focus on both at the same time."

"The intention is to make Princess Diaries hopefully next," she added, before revealing that contrary to popular belief, the third film "is not greenlit or confirmed yet".

"If I learned anything from [The Devil Wears Prada 2], it’s that expectations are very, very high," she later stressed. "And if you’re going to do it, you have to knock it out of the park."

Little is known so far about The Princess Diaries 3, but many of its A-list original cast have confirmed in the past that they would be open to reprising their roles.

"I think I would [do it]," Julie Andrews has previously said of returning to play Clarisse Renaldi, in a 2020 interview with The Talk. "I’m getting awfully old and crotchety. I’m not sure if it’s the right timing, but I think to work with Annie would be lovely again, and sure I’d be up for it."

However, just one week into production, it has been confirmed that this season's most high profile star, Harry Potter actress Helena Bonham Carter, has officially left the series.

The 59-year-old was the first confirmed star of season four, but according to a spokesperson for the Mike White project, her TWL character "did not align on set" after filming the first few scenes. And a decision was subsequently made to rewrite and recast the role which is said to be central to season four.

"With filming just underway on Season 4 of The White Lotus, it had become apparent that the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align once on set," a spokesperson for HBO confirmed in a statement to Deadline.

"The role has subsequently been rethought, is being rewritten and will be recast in the coming weeks," they continued.

"HBO, the producers and Mike White are saddened that they won’t get to work with her, but remain ardent fans and very much hope to work with the legendary actress on another project soon."

The remaining season four cast includes Philomena star Steve Coogan, The Hunger Games actor Alexander Ludwig, Sharp Objects' Chris Messina, Super 8 actress AJ Michalka and stand-up comedian Kumail Nanjiani, among others.

The rare move to recast during filming has happened once before on The White Lotus, with the season three role of Chloe, Greg Hunt's model girlfriend, originally played by actress Francesca Corney.

However, according to Deadline, producers decided to recast the role mid production, choosing to cast an older actress after making character development choices. And as a result, Corney, 32, was replaced by 38-year-old Charlotte Le Bon.

There is not yet an official release date for The White Lotus season four.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially days away, with the highly-anticipated sequel set for cinematic release next week. And coming almost 20 years after the original, details around the high fashion film have been going viral.

The long-awaited follow-up will see Andy Sachs [Anne Hathaway] return to Runway, reuniting with Miranda Priestly [Meryl Streep], Emily Charlton [Emily Blunt] and Nigel Kipling [Stanley Tucci] as they fight to save the magazine.

After the news of his absence went viral, Grenier went on to star in a Starbucks advert, poking fun at his TDWP character and the decision for him not to return.

Now The Devil Wears Prada 2 director David Frankel has officially weighed in, breaking his silence on Grenier's absence and praising his "funny" advert.

"I had an idea about sneaking him into a cameo," Frankel explained to Entertainment Weekly of the sequel. "And, in the end, it was just too late in our production schedule to make it happen."

However, according to her MGMT co-star Nick Offerman, Kidman's filming experience was very dramatic, with the actress hospitalised after finishing her scenes.

According to Offerman, Kidman's first day of filming - a "huge set piece" - very almost didn't happen, with the Big Little Lies actress becoming extremely sick with flu. But despite her illness, Kidman reportedly kept to the filming schedule, only leaving for the hospital "for an IV" after having completed the day's shoot.

"We're there in the morning, we're getting warmed up — some of us are going to be performing some actual wrestling, and so we have our doubles, we have people we're working with. And the word comes in that Nicole has the flu, and we might not get Nicole today," Offerman recalled to PEOPLE in a recent interview. "And we're like, 'Oh no, that's such a bummer,' because we only have the one day that we've built this whole circus for. It's about 8:00 in the morning that we get this news.

"Come to be about 11:00am, the word comes in: Nicole's coming," he continued, describing Kidman as "so sick".

"She was so pale, shaken - she just had the flu really so bad," he recalled. "[But] she showed up and made sure that we got every shot of her, total superhero style.

"We did everything we needed to so that we did not lose one scrap of what we needed for her character," he added, revealing that once she had finished filming, Kidman "was literally taken to the hospital for an IV.

"I just said to her, 'I already admired you so much, but this is how you get to be Nicole Kidman'," Offerman recalled. "You show up so that your show doesn't lose a minute of your value. It was so generous. It was astonishing."

• The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set for UK cinema release on Friday 1 May 2026.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially here, with the highly-anticipated sequel set for release in a matter of days. And coming almost 20 years after the original film, details around the long-awaited follow-up have been going viral.

Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci have of course returned to the helm as the original Runway team - Andy Sachs, Miranda Priestly, Emily Charlton and Nigel Kipling.

And with the foursome reuniting in the sequel to save the magazine, they will be joined by a new A-list TDWP2 cast including Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux and Pauline Chalamet.

Not to mention, some high fashion cameos, with Donatella Versace, Marc Jacobs, Brunello Cucinelli, Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana, Jon Batiste, Heidi Klum and Winnie Harlow appearing in The Devil Wars Prada 2 as themselves.

Sadly, Vogue Global Chief Content Officer Anna Wintour will not be making an appearance in the new release. However, the 76-year-old, who is famously the inspiration behind Runway Editor in Chief Miranda Priestly, did reportedly film a "gag take" which will be released as an extra scene after the film arrives on streaming platforms.

"Unfortunately, Anna jumped her cue, so the shot isn't always in focus. And I didn't want to do a second take," The Devil Wears Prada 2 director David Frankel recalled during a recent appearance on Amy Odell's 'Back Row' podcast. "I can't ask Anna to do take two."

Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna went on to add that Wintour did still influence change, giving some important notes behind the scenes while visiting the cast and crew on set.

The scene in question was set at the Dior offices where Emily Charlton [Blunt] now works, with Wintour reportedly finding fault with the pink floral arrangement on display.

According to Brosh McKenna, the former Vogue editor-in-chief suggested that the shot featured too many flowers, going on to explain that Dior would only have white flowers in their offices.

"I came running out and I was like, ‘Dude, kill the flowers,’" she recalled, confirming that the prop team replaced the pink floral display with a smaller vase of white flowers instead.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set for release on Friday 1 May 2026.
