Meet the super powder you need

Welcome to our weekly beauty product review, where we put everything that lands on our Digital Beauty Editor’s desk to the test. From skincare to make-up, body creams to hair styling tools, every product is put through gruelling tests to work out whether they’ll match up to your expectations. Don’t know if a particular beauty product is for you? We’ve got it sorted…

The test subject: Naturya Organic Acai Powder, £19.99, Fabled.com

What it promises: High in Vitamin A, a source of iron, high in calcium, monounsaturated fat and fibre, this powder contributes to normal iron metabolism, while calcium supports normal blood clotting and iron contributes to normal oxygen transport in the blood and the formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin.

What it does: If all of that sounds confusing, here's the low down on what you can actually expect. First and foremost, think of Acai powder as energy in a pouch. You'll notice the 'buzz' effects almost immediately. And over time, you'll come to appreciate the power of this dark purple berry. It sort of adds a flavour of red wine with chocolate undertones to any drink, which is a lot more delicious than it sounds.

The fibre found in Acai berry skin and pulp can aid digestion too. As well as help ward off colds, thanks to the numerous essential vitamins found in its pulp. You'll also notice your alertness levels rising.

Add a scoop of it to your morning smoothie, or sprinkle it over your breakfast.
