Vestiaire Collective, a luxury online marketplace hailing from Paris, launched in the UK just years ago. Fanny Moizant is at the helm of the London office.

Describe a typical working day. My husband's alarm goes off at 5.15am which usually wakes me, and I doze until my daughters jump on the bed at around 6am. The next two hours are a frantic rush to get ready for school and get to the office. As soon as I arrive I have my first coffee of the day. Work time is filled with emails, meetings and having a peek at the new pieces as they arrive at our office. When I get home, it's back to being 'Mum' until the girls go to bed and then I like to relax with a glass of wine or catch up with friends.

Who inspires you? Women who have made a name for themselves in fashion on their own merit. Natalie Massenet (founder of Net-A-Porter) proved online luxury fashion retailing works, and Jenna Lyons' (J Crew's creative director) courageous work ethic is extremely motivating for me.

What did you want to be when you were a child? I wanted to be just like my mum; a strong woman and a good person.

Which career achievement are you most proud of? Having created a company which employs 80 people in three countries, with all the signs of expanding into a leading global business.

What do you do to unwind after a tough day at work? I give my daughters (Louise and Jeanne) a big kiss, put loud music on and dance around the kitchen with them.

We're obsessed with trying to get a work/life balance, how do you manage it? Life balance is crucial. I do my best to be home every evening to read my girls a story before bed. Afterwards I usually go back to my computer and work.

Do you manage to squeeze a workout into your day? I would really love to but it's difficult, my days are like a funnel: I jump into it every morning and jump out at around 7.30pm. With being a mother, exploring a new city and spending time with my husband and friends it can be difficult.

What's your dream way to spend a lunch break? Lunchtime in France is always long with the whole team, but the trend in London seems to be the opposite - quick and with your computer as company! Being French, my ideal break would be sitting outside in the sun enjoying some light food with a glass of red. My favourite Parisian spot is L'Esplanade in front of Les Invalides.

Your PA is dashing out on a snack run, what do you order? Around 5pm I always need a huge Americano, fruit juice and almonds. I'm a chrononutrition addict and I need energy for my children when I get home!

What advice would you give someone trying to break into your industry? Be creative, work hard, listen to criticism and believe in yourself.

What did you buy with your first big pay cheque? I celebrated it with a friend drinking Martini cocktails at the Park Hyatt terrace in Paris. What are your workwear staples? A pair of grey or blue skinny jeans, Alaia or Saint Laurent heels and a nice silk or cotton top. Simple and easy to throw on in the morning.

What are your handbag essentials? My iPad Mini, macbook, iPhone and my leather card holder for my business cards. I'm such a digital girl!

Tell us your five-year goal. To replicate the success Vestiaire is having in France and the UK, worldwide. I'm extremely proud of how it has grown.
