Puri Mas Boutique Resort & Spa, Lombok
What
A traditional spa resort built and run by Marcel De Rijk which has slowly grown from a small beach destination to a beautiful retreat with the help of its sister resort Puri Mas village. Puri Mas boutique is a gem amongst the many hotels that line the Senggigi coast, thanks to the level of wonderful service from eager staff.
Where
Located on the west coast of Lombok Puri Mas it's about a 30 minute drive from Mataram airport in the resort of Senggigi.
The Hotel
A boutique resort offering a total of 21 private villas, suites and cottages within two separate and unique venues. Both of the Puri Mas resorts are only a few minutes away from each other. Puri Mas beach resort boasts crystal clear waters and the most beautiful sunsets, while Puri Mas village resort is an oasis of tranquillity set between lush green hills and jungle in the beautiful valley of Kerandangan. Both resorts offer private pools and traditional Balinese style suites which encompass the Lombok charm - this is the ultimate in laidback relaxation.
The Rooms
Both properties have beautifully appointed, individually-styled cottages, suites and villas. Each room features intricate hand-carved and painted architecture with traditional Indonesian thatched roofs and private terraces. The bedrooms are steeped in luxury with four poster beds and elegant Balinese garden bathrooms.
Food
The hotel's Sunset Beach Restaurant, in prime position next to Mandsit beach, has an incredible seafood menu. The freshest lobster, crab, prawns and fish are all purchased daily from the local market and given a flavour-filled Indonesian twist.

Standard single cottages at the resort start from just $70 a night (approx £40) including breakfast.
Need to know
Lombok and the surrounding Gili (islands) of Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air, offer some of the most spectacular diving and snorkelling in Indonesia. The Puri Mas in-house dive company can organize complete diving packages, introductory diving and dive courses with PADI qualified instructors who are also fluent in English and Japanese.
