The Bath Priory

The Bath Priory

The ideal haven to get away from it all, yet a stone's throw from the city centre of Bath, The Bath Priory has the perfect country house hotel vibe.

Set in peaceful surroundings, the hotel is discreetly situated behind high walls in a quiet residential area of the city, guaranteeing utter tranquillity during your visit.

Aside from the obvious draws, including an indoor pool, spa and beautifully kept library and lounging areas, the big crowd pleaser is the stunning 150-year-old gardens that stretch out to house an outdoor swimming, hidden by manicured hedges.

Take tea on the sun terrace before retiring for dinner in the Michelin-starred restaurant, run by head chef, Chris Horridge, who has recently been chosen to represent the South West of England in the third series of the BBC's Great British Menu.

You can wile away hours over the sumptuous food and extensive wine list. Both waiters and sommelier alike are perfect at recommending dishes and wines to accompany them. And what most impressed was the Victorian kitchen garden, tucked away in the grounds, which provides the kitchen with seasonal herbs and vegetables. There's nothing like knowing where your dinner's come from!
