Under the Iron Sea by Keane

1

Soaring piano-led rock-pop

Keane make a kind of clean-shaven, guitar-free rock-pop that offends no one. Playing it safe is their game, and this pretty much repeats the formula of their mega-selling debut, Hopes and Fears: soaring, piano-led songs, heavy with emotion and artistic suffering, like the first single from the album, Is It Any Wonder?. Clever stuff that nevertheless manages to teeter on the brink of very boring.
