Sunshine Cleaning

Sunshine Cleaning - Film Reviews - Marie Claire

Quirky, offbeat comedy starring Amy Adams and Emily Blunt.

From the producers of one of our firm indie favourites, Little Miss Sunshine, comes new flick Sunshine Cleaning.

Amy Adams and Emily Blunt play Rose and Norah, two struggling sisters who accidentally fall into the business of crime-scene cleanup while trying to turn their lives around.

Desperate to make some quick cash and get her son into a better school, Rose persuades Norah to partner her in crime-scene cleaning.

Completely clueless in the face of murders and suicides, they turn to an industrial cleaning storeowner for help, and quickly make a name for themselves as Sunshine Cleaning.

Subject matter aside, the film is surprisingly funny and oddly uplifting. Both girls show depth we’ve rarely seen of them and add much needed humour.

Definitely one to watch - and not as sinister as it sounds, we promise! – Sunshine Cleaning hits cinemas on Friday 26th June.
