Iron Man

Iron Man

A disappointing start to the raft of summer blockbusters

Starring Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow

If this first blockbuster of the summer is anything to go by, we're in for a decidedly humdrum time. Downey Jr is Tony Stark, a weapons genius who designs an iron suit to save lives. Paltrow, as his faithful assistant Ms. Potts, has little more to do than look good in high heels while a bald-and-bearded Jeff Bridges as his business partner seems to be doing his best to impersonate Michael Eavis. While the f/x are all shiny and new, the script is as rusty as a bucket of nails left out in the rain.

Movie is not worth time or money. My 13 year old son even wanted to leave early and said "I wish we would have just gone and seen Indiana Jones". I am a single widowed mother and a movie is a treat. He was very excited for this movie but it was more than a let down. For him and I both, they spent way too much time on the "suit" like more than 80%. Wait for it on dvd, if you really want to see it.
