Chromophobia movie review

The Fiennes family unite for a darkly comic attempt at a British Magnolia

Starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Penélope Cruz

A Fiennes family production - Martha directs, Ralph cameos and Magnus scores - this darkly comic attempt at a British Magnolia is equally uneven.

Criss-crossing contemporary stories, from Cruz's terminally ill prostitute to Scott Thomas's mother in mid-life crisis, the plot often veers into melodrama, despite a strong turn from Damian Lewis. Poignant moments.
