Starring Gillian Anderson and Danny Dyer

A one-night stand ends in horror in this dark revenge thriller. Gillian Anderson plays Alice, a seductive businesswoman who invites Danny Dyer's Adam to a lavish party in the countryside. After a car accident, the pair are set upon by a terrifying group of locals. The subsequent spiral of violence forms the entire basis of Straightheads. Despite strong leads, the film has little depth, although this seems to add to the disturbing effect. The brutality inflicted makes for almost unbearably tense viewing. Atmospheric to the point where it's uncomfortable, Straightheads is an alternative tragedy.
