Starring Hilary Swank, David Morrisey, Stephen Rea and Idris Elba

Hilary Swank plays a religious sceptic in this supernatural thriller. After losing her family during missionary in Sudan, Swank's Katherine has become a specialist in debunking religious phenomena. Like Dana Scully, she is convinced that science can explain away all supposed 'miracles'. Her faith in all things empirical is questioned however when she is called to investigate a town which is seemingly suffering from the Ten Biblical Plagues. Unfortunately The Reaping is almost unbearably awful, as Katherine fights to save an impossibly attractive child from a lynching by the Bible bashing town who blame her for their misfortunes. Like Hot Fuzz crossed with The Omen, but without any of their good points.
