The Caiman

By Rose Longhurst  on Friday 6 April 2007

The Caiman, starring Silvio Orlando

A pleasing mix of comedy and drama, it's not hard to see why The Caiman was one of the most successful Italian films of last year

Starring Silvio Orlando, Margherita Buy and Nanni Moretti

Bruno Bonomo is a movie producer of a similar calibre to Ed Wood. His marriage is on the rocks, his kids are out of control and he can't raise the funds to make his new film. Just as his life seems to be spiralling out of control, he finds hope in the form of a film written by a talented young woman. Her script is a satire attacking Italian premiere Silvio Berlusconi, and it soon galvanises Bruno in every aspect of his life. A pleasing mix of comedy and drama, it's not hard to see why The Caiman was one of the most successful Italian films of last year.
