How to get into ...

300

300, Starring Gerard Butler, Lena Headey and David Wenham

300 might be based on a graphic novel, but the blood and gore looks all too real

Starring Gerard Butler, Lena Headey and David Wenham

You've probably noticed the perfectly outlined muscles of King Leonidas on every bus and billboard recently. The reason they seem so hyper-real is because 300 is based on a graphic novel. As with Sin City previously, 300 deviates little from the original comic book style. The film is unrelentingly violent, featuring homoerotic warriors and plenty of grotesque fighting creatures. Lingering shots of naked flesh and the occasional line of dialogue spoken with the utmost gravitas occasionally punctuate the decapitation and gore. Lena Headey looks stunning, hopefully prompting designers to create a Greek goddess look in time for the summer.
