A heartbreaking story about a father and son's contrasting reactions to a family tragedy
Mark Casey has hightailed it to the city, leaving behind his rural childhood and the endless, relentless tasks of his father's farm in the Irish midlands. There he meets and falls for trainee solicitor Joanne. But their intense romance is dramatically curtailed, and Mark, his small daughter and his father are forced to deal with the far reaching consequences of a tragedy. Mark's bewildered, spiky grief is pitted against the silent expectations of his father. Both men are stubbon and dejected and struggling to cope, but can't admit it to each other in this lovely, lonesome tale of remorse and reconciliation.
