The Consequence of Love by Sulaiman Addonia

Marie Claire Book Review: The Consequences of Love by Sulaiman Addonia

A tense and compelling read from Sulaiman Addonia

Set in the claustrophobic world of 1980s Saudi Arabia, where extremist religious police ensure the moral rectitude of the people, this tale of forbidden passion is tense and provocative. As an African, Naser is an outsider. He yearns for romance, and when a veiled woman drops a love letter at his feet he becomes enmeshed in a dangerously illicit affair. Compelling.

Lovely, lovely sweet wistful story. I brought this for my girlfriend and ended up reading the whole thing before i had a chance to giving it to her and dog-earing all the pages. It was well worth going out and buying a 2nd copy
