Lottery, by Patricia Wood

Lottery by Patricia Wood

A greedy family try to swindle their vulnerable brother's fortune

This poignant novel has a touch of Forrest Gump about it. Thirty-one-year-old Perry's IQ is only 76, but his happiness quotient is much higher than his smarter siblings, thanks to his beloved Gram. After her death, his family swindle him out of his home and, when he pockets a substantial lottery win, their greediness looks set to wreck Perry's sunny composure. But he has a solution… Crabby misanthropes should avoid this one.
