Trump is no match for this lot

The fact that Donald Trump could potentially be the leader of the free world in January sends us into a state of fear and denial. And we don’t even live in America.

With his outrageous quotes (and unusual paranoia of people thinking he has small hands) Donald Trump is no stranger to controversy, but these awesome celebrity women aren’t taking his dangerous stupidity laying down.

From Angelina Jolie, to Bette Midler, here are the best Trump shut downs from some of our favourite celebrity women...

Jennifer Lawrence

The actress thinks a Trump victory will be apocalyptic.

‘If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world. I genuinely believe that reality television has reached the ultimate place where now even things like this might just be for entertainment.’

Olivia Wilde

The actress used her trip to Syria to highlight how cruel Trump’s attitude towards refugees is.

Angelina Jolie

Speaking of Trump’s stance on Muslims, Angelina said at a UN speech: 'To me, America is built on people from around the world coming together for freedoms, especially freedom of religion. So it's hard to hear this is coming from someone who is pressing to be an American president.’

Amal Clooney

Human rights lawyer Amal attacked Trump’s views on Muslims and women.

'When you listen to what the leading candidate on the Republican side has been saying about building walls, about excluding Mexicans and a complete shutdown of all Muslims entering in, and if you actually look at what he specifically said in that now infamous speech about Muslims, he kept saying, "They only want jihad. They don't believe in our way of life. They don't respect our system."

'And when he says "they" and you watch the media coverage afterwards, people, I think, should have been saying "Do you mean the 1.5 billion people around the world who fit that description? "Do you mean the people who are U.S. citizens who are members of your military who are, the vast majority of whom are not violent or extremists in any way?"

'There's an ad on the TV in the U.S. where they went through all these statements he's made against women and you watch that and you think "Gosh. He has a really high negative rating. I don't think he's going to get much of the women's vote as a result of that."'

The most outrageous Donald Trump quotes of all time

 Chrissy Teigen

We all know La Teigen rules on Twitter, and in December she well and truly shot down Trump.

When Donald tweeted that he would be ‘meeting with a large group of Black-American pastors… not a press event!’ Chrissy responded with: ‘Then don’t tweet about it you t**t.’

While the Republican candidate didn’t respond directly, he did retweet this nasty post: ‘Wow! Trashy gutter mouth woman. You can't hold a candle2 @MelaniaTrump when it comes2 beauty and eloquence,’ to which Chrissy replied: ‘LOL poor Melania doesn’t need to be dragged into this. She goes through enough already.’ Before pointing out to Trump that both she and his wife have both done scantily clad cover shoots.

Susan Sarandon

When asked about Donald Trump at Cannes, the actress didn’t hold back.

‘It doesn’t matter what [Trump] thinks because nothing will be able to happen. The thing interesting about Trump is the things he’s talking about are impossible. They’re not what’s threatening. He’s obviously not going to build a wall; he’s not going to be able to export all the Muslims in the United States. All of those things are impossible to do.

‘What he did that was terrible is that he legitimatized racism and homophobia in order get that very discontented base that wants something authentic. What he did in the process was say, “It’s OK to be violent.” That’s why he has the KKK as one of his representatives. That’s been really terrible, besides the fact that America looks ridiculous.’

America Ferrera

After Trump’s negative comments about Latino-Americans, the actress thanked him in an open letter.

‘You see, what you just did with your straight talk was send more Latino voters to the polls than several registration rallies combined! Thank you for that. Here we are pounding the pavement to get American Latinos to the polls, while your tactic proves most effective.’

Chelsea Handler

The comedian was simple yet effective with this post:

Sarah Silverman

JK Rowling

The Harry Potter author spoke about how hateful Trump was, but why it’s important that we don’t ban him from the UK.

‘I find almost everything that Mr. Trump says objectionable. I consider him offensive and bigoted.‘But he has my full support to come to my country and be offensive and bigoted there.

‘If my offended feelings can constitute a travel ban on Donald Trump, I have no moral grounds on which to argue that those offended by feminism or the fight for transgender rights or universal suffrage should not oppress campaigners for those causes. If you seek the removal of freedoms from an opponent simply on the grounds that they have offended you, you have crossed a line to stand along tyrants who imprison, torture and kill on exactly the same justification.’

Miley Cyrus

After Trump attacked the way rival Republican candidate Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi looked, Miley Cyrus launched a scathing attack on Instagram.

Shakira

When Trump called Mexican immigrants ‘rapists and criminals’ the Columbian singer tweeted: ‘This is a hateful and racist speech that attempts to divide a country that for years has promoted diversity and democracy!’

Bette Midler

The Hollywood icon’s looks have been attacked on Twitter over the years, but what Bette Midler really wants to know if why Azealia Banks can get kicked off the social network for being racist, but Trump’s allowed to stay.

'Twitter deactivated Azealia Banks’ account for homophobia & racism? So why is Donald Trump still here?
