Married teacher Jeremy Forrest, who fled to France with his schoolgirl lover, has arrived at magistrates' court in Eastbourne charged with child abduction.
Forrest, 30, was released from jail near Bordeaux yesterday before flying back to Gatwick to face court. He had been in prison for just under two weeks.
He had fled to France with his student Megan Stammers after reportedly facing suspension for his inappropriate relationship with the teenager.
They were found in the centre of Bordeaux after Forrest had touted a fake CV in the city's pubs and bars.
Stammers returned home on September 29, where she was reunited with her mother and stepfather and spent time in a safe house.
Her headteacher confirmed the school were offering support to her and her family ‘as they seek to return to some sort of normality’ following the incident and ensuing media interest.
