Author Lexie Sutton's book Fifty Shades of Bliss promises to 'lead you from vanilla sex all the way to sinful BDSM delights'. In her book we get a lesson in everything from pillow talk to serious bondage-play.
The manual starts with the basics, communication and openness, encouraging us to 'remember that sex is meant to be fun… so try to keep a sense of humour'. But the terminology swiftly moves from kisses and cuddles to ball-gags and latex.
It would appear that accessories are vital for any sexual explorer, with costumes, whips, chains and a smorgasbord of sex toys at your disposal to enhance your arousal.

These are not instructions for the faint hearted, but according to the studies Sutton has compiled they do reach out to and intrigue an astonishing number of people.
