Forecasters say temperatures look set to soar to a scorching 30 degrees centigrade this week, with Wednesday looking like it will be the hottest day of the year so far.
Widespread flooding and heavy rain was causing by the jet stream setting far south.
It is now on its way back north, leading to more traditional summer weather this week.
The warm temperatures started this weekend, with thousands of people flocking to sunbathe on the coast of the UK.
