Meditate your way to an orgasm

According to researchers at Brown University in Rhode Island, women who are able to train their thoughts while love-making experience more pleasure between the sheets.

The researchers showed participants a slideshow of erotic images, asking them to describe their reaction, and found that women who had been meditating were quicker at registering sexual arousal.

The study published in the Journal of Psychosomatic Medicine, also reveals that women who meditate show more self-compassion, less anxiety and an improved attention span.

Meditation is a favourite among celebrities, including Tina Turner andOrlando Bloom. Gwyneth Paltrow has also made it her goal to learn to meditate in 2012.

'My New Year's resolution is to learn how to meditate,' she says. 'My friends who do it say it's really freakin' brilliant. They say you can't know the peace, awareness, contentment until you do it.'

Ivor Murray of Meditations UK says: 'Meditation has been shown to have so many physical and psychological benefits that it's not surprising to find that it also helps to improve a person's sex life.'

'Meditating three or four times a week for just 10 or 15 minutes can lead to a better sense of well-being that will result in more satisfying and fulfilling sex.'
