David and Samantha announce new baby name
By Lucy Hutchings on Wednesday 25 August 2010
After giving birth to a healthy baby girl yesterday, David and Samantha have now announced the name of the newest member of their family.
Introducing, Florence Rose Endelion Cameron.
Florence was born three-weeks early, with Samantha going into labour while on a family holiday in Cornwall - giving birth by Caesarean section at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.
And perhaps the Camerons took inspiration from their surroundings when choosing the name - St Endellion is a tiny village in North Cornwall.
A spokesperson for the Camerons confirmed: 'The Prime Minister and Mrs Cameron are delighted to announce the birth of their fourth child, a baby girl. Both the baby - who was born weighing 6lb 1oz - and Mrs Cameron are doing very well.
'The PM and Mrs Cameron would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the hospital for their help and kindness.'
The Camerons' eldest son Ivan - who was severely disabled - tragically died last year at the age of six. They have two other children, Nancy, six, and Arthur, four.
Congratulations to the Camerons!
