Save the Children launches the Mother of All Tweets

Save the Children has launched a new campaign, The Mother of All Tweets, to encourage the UK public to help highlight the terrible plight that faces millions of the world's most vulnerable mothers and their children.

In developing countries pregnancy and childbirth kills one mother every minute of every day while two million children every year still die on the day they are born. In some countries, such as Sierra Leone, as many as one mother in eight dies in childbirth.

Get involved by going to Twitter, following Save the Children at @stcuk and re-tweeting this message:

The tweets can be sent at any time during the two-week campaign from 1 March to Friday 12 March.
