Man charged for harrassing Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley - Celebrity News - Marie Claire Rex Features

A stalker who bombarded Hollywood actress Keira Knightly with gifts and letters has been charged with harassment and is due to stand trial later this year.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star, who is currently appearing in The Misanthrope at the Comedy Theatre on Panton Street, London, was reportedly left petrified of Polish fan, Marek Daniluk, 41, after he waited outside the theatre where she was performing.

Daniluk, who is thought to suffer with mental health problems, allegedly grabbed the 24-year-old actress after one performance and asked whether she'd received his gift, to which she replied: ‘Yes, thank you.'

In her statement to police, Knightly said she had become ‘worried and distressed' by his behaviour at the stage door.

Daniluk, of Enfield, North London, was arrested on Thursday night and appeared before the City of Westminster magistrates' court on Saturday. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and will stand trial in June.
