Silvio Berlusconi and Veronica Lario to divorce

The wife of sleaze-hit Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi is demanding a staggering £39 million a year divorce settlement.

Veronica Lario, 53 - who left the PM after he went to the 18th birthday party of model Noemi Letizia - is threatening to 'make things messy' unless he agrees. Ms Lario, Berlusconi's second wife, married him in 1990. They have three children together, now in their 20s.

The former topless actress said she is 'fed up' with a man who 'associated with minors'. Berlusconi, 73 - who is said to be worth £5.6 billion - has offered her a 'more reasonable' £2 million a year. He is listed by Forbes as the 70th richest person in the world.
